There is nothing better in this world than having good neighbors!! For $200 to protect the front, seems like short money. Even $500 dollars to protect it isn't terrible. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I don't know if you have a lot of rabbits up there, but if you do, they're going to love the cover!! Thanks for helping your friend and taking us along for the ride👍👍👍
Hey Gord, too bad about the tractor damage. I certainly did get a chuckle with the music choice at the 10 minute mark in this video, " Heal the Pain ". Very creative and appropriate. Cheers.
Hi GP Sorry about your grill. I too learned the hard way. I now have a grill on the front of my L3901. I got mine from "Horse out of the Barn LTD". Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Good evening GP. Someone let it get a little overgrown.. hahahah Bob has been slacking.. But I am not going to talk to much I had a small area that was a little bit overgrown.. All pines.. I just push them over and piled them as well out of the way. Did that this spring.. Happy now.. hahaha Great job.. Bobby owes you a few cups of coffee for that.. hahahah As always stay safe and always be kind. Cheers my friend..
My cheap grill guard consists of about 15 of those hard rubber black bungee cords spaced less then 1/2 inch apart running horizontally. Strong enough to stop any branches, yet easy to remove when you want your headlights back.
LOL! Thanks Gary! And a big thanks from my daughter - she was pretty happy when the mail came the other day! Thanks so very much. :)) All the best for the Holidays!
Morning Gord, Keep your chin up and look at the bright side you ain't got to worry about scratching it anymore. Keep your rubber down and head up you'll be fine. 👍
Great job Gord, Bob knew he could count on you and of coarse you would have been upset if he didn't give you all. You did an excellent job scooping and pushing the brush with the grapple . You actually did Kubota a favor buy selling the grill guards up front in the purchasing of the tractor. It's something that you really need working the brush like you all do up there. Stay safe and get the chains on your wish for snow just might be your Christmas present this year. Fred.
Well if you had access to a CNC plasma table and a good welder you could make a GP Outdoors branded brush plate. It will cover up that hole and you will be good as new!.
Grapple and a cab makes it a enjoyable task GP. Going with 5Eleven brush guard GP. Just waiting for them to get one made for my Model and they are only an hour from me. 👍
Hate you got the grill 🙁 but I'm looking forward to seeing what you do . I have a land pride grapple on my b2601 and me and my son built a grill gard from a hammer mill screen Hope you have a blessed week
I bought the 511 guard for my tractor, knowing that l would be getting a grapple. I think they are a great idea anyways, as the guards that come on most tractors don’t protect much. Merry Christmas to you and you family, and to all of your subs. Have a great day, stay safe and may God bless…
511 makes a beautiful, tough guard no doubt - I love the designs and the strong build and easy installation. The FX is tough to take these days though. Enjoy it Donald and all the best to you and yours!
WOW!! That grapple is a winner Gord. Just the right tool for the right job. Now if Husky Bob has the luxury of buying overpriced saws, he surely must have disposable income to help cover partial cost for a guard???🤔🤔🤔 How bout it Bobby?🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanx for sharing Gord👍
Great video and nice grapple work, Gord! I’ve had a few of those “just need a LITTLE job ” from friends that resemble Husky Bob’s situation. Some of them have involved a lot of grunt work, which in my younger days I didn’t mind a bit. Now, like you, if it involves seat time in a tracker, I enjoy every minute of it! Wishing the very best of the Festive Season to you and family, and to all your subscribers!
You look good in that red/black plaid, It reminds me of the Monty Phyton skit entitled I'm a lumberjack. I don't know if you are familiar with it, it's funny. lol
Hi GP, you should put Vaseline or clear grease or jiga-loo on your front door hinges. Every other video we hear that door skeaking. Put the chainsaw down for a couple of minutes and fix that dam door. 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers mate 🙋👍
I'm sure Husky Bob meant well. But in good humour you should reciprocate next summer popping by good ole Husky Bob's place for a cup a coffee and then ask to pick out a few vegetables from his garden. When he says yes, whip out the biggest bag you can get and say Thanks for the brush ( I mean bushel ). P.S. Have a wonderful Christmas Gord, Bob, Guy and to your families.
Saw some radiator pokers come through the grapple. Question: Do you think you could have done everything with just a set of forks? Edited to add: I made that comment around the 6:00 mark. OUCH at the end!!
Hey Gord! Sorry to see the hole in the grill. I've also been pushing my luck and I'm sure sooner or later the same will happen. Hope the fix goes smoothly for ya. Thanks for sharing this video. Great to see ya out and about before the real heavy snow hits us. All the best and Happy Holidays!
Good Evening GP, 🤔🤣👍A little bush 😮 That was an OUTSTANDING Tractor Bush Grapple Video 👍👌😇 Hope that did not touching your front radiator, condenser AC, Hydraulic Cooler,,, Full Watch Cheers 🍻🍻
Awesome job...well except for the grill guard I guess...lol When I bought my Kioti, I fabricated a forestry protection roof and a grill guard before ever going into the bush. I'd seen enough video online to convince me of the need for it. Bobby is sure lucky to have a friend like you. Now you can spread the love and tell your other buddy, Guy, that you have a small fabricating project for him.... a small brush guard.... then, once in his shop, you show him the grill guard and then also mention that you would also love a forestry plate to protect the underneath of the tractor 🤣🤣🤣 That is the one thing I really would love to have on mine as those machines are quite vulnerable with hoses, wires and even the plastic radiator fan. Good luck
Oh man, what a bummer about the grill Gord! Loved the content...that sort of work is like mowing or painting...you can just plug away and see the progress as it builds. Good stuff. Merry Christmas my friend. 🎄🎅⛄❄😎👍
Good work Gord!!!! I am kind of surprised Husky Bob didn't want it all pushed into a pile in the middle of the field to be able to have a fire and reduce it all. I forget are there restrictions on such things where you are located?
Hey Daniel. Yes a good question many have asked. I am not sure why he chose not to burn it. Yes we can burn but requires permits and inspections, approvals etc - possibly he wanted to avoid the bureaucracy and costs. Thanks - have a great Holidays!
With the grapple attachment, it seems a good idea to automatically put on the brush guard. They go hand in hand. A little patina lets you know it's a working tractor and not just a thing of beauty.
I just designed a table for my wood splitter. It’s a factory made one from many years ago my father and uncle bought together. I am getting to the age I can’t hold half the split piece on one leg so I took a big cardboard box. Cut, scored and taped with red tuck tape and made an exact template. Took it to Metal Supermarkets and said to the young guy at the counter… “Don’t laugh, make this”. He’s mailed and said he wished more would come in that way. Long story short. Picked it up brought it home, installed it, perfect!! Just an idea for your front guard. 👍. It will give you a good feeling as it will be of your design.
Hey thanks very kindly. Yes, that's where i picked up some expanded metal when my neighbour and I made the last one for my B2601. Great place and good prices (lots to choose from in the off-cuts area). Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the evening!
Hey G.p., I don't know what the burning laws are in Canada but I think that I would have just started piling the brush in the middle of the field and started burning it adding a little at a time. In a day or two all the brush is gone and the ashes are good for the soil. I was just wondering. God bless you and I hope that you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And "Husky Bob" is very lucky to have a friend like you. 👍👍
Morning John. Yes a good option I think as well. Burning is allowed certain times of the year but requires a permit and inspection process here locally. Not sure what Bobby's thinking was or why he chose this way, but I imagine there was a reason. Thanks for the good suggestion and wish you and yours all the best!
I put a stick through my LX2610 too. Thankfully it didn’t hit the radiator. Time for me to get a grill guard too. Why didn’t you pile all that brush up and burn it. That would have been a perfect day to do it
I got the 511. It's a really nice product. Be carefully Canadian buyers: I got hit with major border fees. I would have got a grill from my JD dealer but they don't have anything for the 2025R.
Yes indeed, a great job you did moving all of that brush ... and you made it look so easy! That small dent in the front would drive me crazy ... but such is life. I've got a similar story I did on my BX after only having it for a short time. I'm sure you'll have it improved soon with a new grill guard. Stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas!
How do you like that Grapple? Homestead Implements is local to me, and I own their snow pusher. I did a factory tour about a year ago, bunch of great guys there!
OK when someone just happens to stop by for a coffee you know somethings up ha ha ha Great job good video.... don't we all try to save some cash. Yah I'll be careful... oops ... it's always more fun to make something special for the front of anything but your tractor... come on you have to make it. 😄
Hey good evening Gordon. Yes, been on my list for a while and I guess I pushed my luck a little too long, so I will have it done before the summer. Happy Holidays!
I would use a lot of that wood you are putting in a pill I go down to 2 inch wood for my fire wood it all burn all the same and I don't split anything under 4" for my in side stove. out side I would go up to 6" not being split.
Do you prefer the Homestead Implements grapple to your old one? Do you plan on keeping one over the other? Looking at grapples and just trying to get some opinions. Thanks for the video
Great job Gord. Bob knows who he can count on. It feels good when you can help a buddy out. Only thing I have a question about is what was the purpose of moving all that brush into a big long pile along the trees. Is it for wildlife habitat or for use later. Wouldn’t it have been better to put it in bigger piles and burn it. It looked like good weather to do it. Just me asking I always enjoy watching you guys except for all of that hydraulic whine. I think Kubota is an awesome tractor but my New Holland is a lot quieter and I don’t have a cab. Looking forward to the next video. Merry Christmas to you and the boys up north from here in Ohio USA.
Hey thanks Tom. That's a good question a few folks asked. I never asked him but I will next week. He may have not wanted to be bothered with the whole permit application and process etc for burning it. But hey thanks again - Have a great holiday and all the best to your family!
Do you guys burn up there? I burned a huge brush pile today, got another for tomorrow! Yeah, I need to improve the “brush guard” that comes with tractors! Maybe something that goes up under the front as well! But great job! I think Bobby owes you a dinner!
Hello Gord, i am looking for a grappel for my lx 2610 i was wondering what size is your grapple? Can you send me info. please make and moodel. What are your recomendation ? i am watching some at the ritchi brother auction but thay seams wrealy to big for my Kubota. Also i would like to thank you for all thoses videos. That was verry helpfull when i choose mine. I order the wheel spacer, 3rd fonction, rear hydrolic extra connection, front and rear quick attach all those install before delevery. With out thoses videos i may have forgot to buy all those great featur and probably add to bring my tractor back to the kubota shop. Thanks!!
511 designs is superior to Kubota on GWT video a while back. I think you watch Courtney some. We need one. Maybe a Christmas present to ourselves. 😆 lol
I don't know why you would want to stack the brush along the wood line. If you've got snow on the ground you should be able to burn the pile and not have all that brush laying along the wood line to rot. That's what I would have done is to let it go up in flames. Since the snow on the ground.
Hi Joel - Bobby has been cleaning up and bush-hogging his fields of late so I think they come from various places around the property. As he worked different areas, he hauled them into the one area...for me? LOL! Cheers!
LOL! A few others have asked too, Michael. I am not sure why he didn't but here we require permits, inspections etc and approvals to burn so perhaps he didn't want the red tape etc. Cheers!
I've never used a grapple, but I noticed you were pushing with the grapple tilted down instead of level. Having the flat area at the base level and on the ground might let the curved front tines lift the brush better. (Just like you're supposed to have the bucket level when picking stuff up.)
Hey thanks Alan. Often helpful initially to tilt them down so they catch all the ground level limbs but then curl in a bit as it gathers, just as you have suggested. Great point - Cheers!
I don’t know if the homestead grapple is yours or a “demo”, but I would consider having having Handyman Guy weld some expanded metal on the backside of it in the middle. In ADDITION to getting that grille guard on asap Gord! That’s what I did with my EA. Extra insurance. Not sure why these manufacturers leave them open like that. Weight I suppose, but with how they are generally used not worth the trade off.🤷♂️
I know it’s depressing to damage your tractor, last spring I put a fist sized dent in the hood and broke a headlight pod. The dealer wanted 850$ for the hood and 167$ for the light pod . I replaced the light pod and hammered out the dent , in the spring it gets finished
I have 40 acres on my Homestead and I would never pile brush like that. New growth will grow up through it and you'll never be able to get it out. You need to put it in the middle of the field and burn it and it's gone forever. After that starts to rot, it will be impossible to move.
Morning and thanks for the advice Tom. Probably a better solution for getting rid of it and appreciate your thoughts on it. Have a nice Holidays and all the best!
There is nothing better in this world than having good neighbors!! For $200 to protect the front, seems like short money. Even $500 dollars to protect it isn't terrible. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Well said James. Cheers!
That job looks like it was worth a least a new grill and brush bar, and some diesel. You are a very good neighbor, good luck 🙂🤞
I don't know if you have a lot of rabbits up there, but if you do, they're going to love the cover!! Thanks for helping your friend and taking us along for the ride👍👍👍

Hey Merry Christmas Frankie! All the best for the New Year good sir!
Looks like you have about mastered the graffle.
With Friends like Huskey Bob you would have nothing to do. Always great to see how you all help each other when needed!

That is another way to install a privacy fence. lol
This is for the grill guard cause. Cheers

Seems like Husky Bob made a mole hill out of a mountain. 🤣 Nothing that the mighty kubota couldn't handle.

That’s a great day right there!

GP, Great job !!! Hind site is 20-20. Lol
I think Huskey Bob just wanted an Inexpensive fence for that side of his property!
Looks great gord! It’s always nice to help out your buddy’s! That grapple sure is nice!
I think my favourite implement for my tractor is the grapple. You can do so many things with it.
Mine too for sure - Thanks RFL!

That looks like more of a job for a wood chipper. cheers.

Hey good day Dave! LOL. Yup, not a problem sitting in a warm tractor. You too - all the best to you and yours this Christmas!
I have the same Homestead grapple on my tractor. It works great and is built very well . A brush guard is definitely next on my tractor list .
Thank you for your purchase and the kind words!

Little brush pile lol should've put it in the middle of the field and lit it off when it was more snow on the ground
Great werk with out chains! Thanks for sharing.
Hi GP, you should put Vaseline or clear grease or jiga-loo on your front door hinges. Every other video we hear that door skeaking. Put the chainsaw down for a couple of minutes and fix that dam door. 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers mate 🙋👍

Thanks!!
Man that would have great for piles of fire 🔥. I said piles not one pile 😎.
LOL! It sure would. Cheers!
511 designs is superior to Kubota on GWT video a while back. I think you watch Courtney some. We need one. Maybe a Christmas present to ourselves. 😆 lol
LOL! They are beautiful Jim.....now where did my Christmas list go.....Have a Happy Holidays!
I don't know why you would want to stack the brush along the wood line. If you've got snow on the ground you should be able to burn the pile and not have all that brush laying along the wood line to rot. That's what I would have done is to let it go up in flames. Since the snow on the ground.
Hi GP. Great vid. How long did the job take roughly
Hey thanks Kevin. Done and back at the cabin in about 2 hours. Fun though just to sit and work the tractor for a while. Happy Holidays!
Nice that’s pretty good looked like A lot of brush. All fun the get out in the kubota and do some work. Happy holidays to you too
Just a lil brush to move eh? What was the total time for that? I think you go to his house for coffee next time!
LOL! Actually didn't take long - I think I was back at the cabin in less than 2 hours. But yup, I'll find a way to get him back. :))
Hi Gord,
Interesting video as always. Where did all the brush come from, it wasn't from that area, there were no stumps anywhere.
Hi Joel - Bobby has been cleaning up and bush-hogging his fields of late so I think they come from various places around the property. As he worked different areas, he hauled them into the one area...for me? LOL! Cheers!
@@GPOutdoors thank you for the reply, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
🚜👍👏❄️🎄 Rick
I have to ask, why not pull all into the middle of the field and burn the brush???
LOL! A few others have asked too, Michael. I am not sure why he didn't but here we require permits, inspections etc and approvals to burn so perhaps he didn't want the red tape etc. Cheers!
@@GPOutdoors Ah ok Here in NB, Snow on the ground, we pretty much can proceed to burn...
Which grapple is that? 25 horse? For compact tractors . Price around 1,800
Great job Gord! What style tires do you have on the tractor, R14s?
Hey Jim. They are R4's. Have a great week!
Weight I suppose, but with how they are generally used not worth the trade off.🤷♂️
Hello Gord, Thats happened to me helping a neighbor, Merry Christmas to ya! ❄️🚜👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
I think he caught me sleeping. :)) Cheers Larry!
Great video, too bad about the grill 🙁
I know it’s depressing to damage your tractor, last spring I put a fist sized dent in the hood and broke a headlight pod. The dealer wanted 850$ for the hood and 167$ for the light pod . I replaced the light pod and hammered out the dent , in the spring it gets finished
Wow! That hurts a bit - I am sure you will have it looking like new Brian!
Sorry to see the Front grill but you should not have raised the issues. Once you said something you knew it was going to happen. Merry Christmas!
LOL! Yup...:)) Cheers Tim!
Why dont you take the brush to the center of the field an burn it when you have snow cover
Have a nice Holidays and all the best!
why not pile it up in the open and burn it ? must be a reason
I imagine there is but I didn't ask him - but I will. Cheers!
Personally I would think seriously about the brush guard. It might be a little bit of money, but so is damage to your tractor.
Punched a hole in the grill of my L6060 using the grapple. Not happy about that.
Geez, it hurts for sure Don. Guess we best take care of the bush guard. Cheers and enjoy the Holidays!
