To me, this has been a litmus test for a cfb commentator this year. It's not enough to blame Texas, it's the refs that reversed the call in question. Not acknowledging that shows a lack of integrity imo.
The refs don’t have the right to stop officiating properly just because of fan conduct. They made the correct decision to overturn the call during the Texas game, still horrible fan conduct and the ncaa should enact fines and other punishment

I was watching the SkyCast when this happened. I saw the facemask and thought, "Facemask! Meh they wont call it." Then the flag came. Not a flagrant or malicious FM but still a FM. That was a critical point where LSU could have had a momentum shift and it was taken away. I can understand why LSU fans would be frustrated, but it wasn't a throwing trash on the field worthy penalty.

In the NFL they’re no longer throwing flags for the facemask penalty. They’re also have stopped throwing flags for targeting. Yet in college they’re strictly enforcing both penalties like supposed to.
No one expected LSU to get blown out at home like this and the players and fans were frustrated. Normally LSU and Bama are a battle to the very end, but this was embarrassing
NCAA is gonna have to do something about this (take away a timeout, penalty…something!). It’s an absolute nuisance and a danger to all those around the field.
Should be a significant fine-though it’s difficult if it isn’t the home team. If there are students who are caught doing this, they should get some sort of academic penalty.
This would be hard to identify...say this rule was in effect and an Alabama fan sitting in a crowd of LSU fans throws trash onto the field to jeopardize the home team into getting a timeout taken away.
Someday, the NCAA will start a game with both teams having absolutely *NO TIMEOUTS* for the entire game and having the zebras making *ALL PENALTIES* 15 yards regardless of what it is.
I was at the game and first off this is embarassing behavior and I hate that it continues to happen. However, I didn't know it was a legitmate call until checking social media after the game due to lack of replay in house.
