Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
Seasonal changes are amazing. In reality we are in spring, but nature has an odd way of telling us, "it" is in control and we are all here for the ride, wherever it may take us. At least a nice feeling for you to already have most of the first crop already in.

hello, we had the same weather in France at 900m altitude, the cows were outside and it was snowing too, but we didn't start mowing, it's too early... we also have a trioliet.. .triomix 1200 which loads... we are changing it for solomix 2 2000 because it is too small and a redrock cutter bucket, good luck to you 😀

No, luckily it wasn't as bad as 10 years ago when we got 15 cm of snow at the end of April 🙃

Wow, that sure changed, but as a kid I can remember hail storms in April and snow at the end of May. That was back in the 50s.

I've always wanted to ask. Is there a specific purpose to building roofs over your bunker silos? I've never seen that here in the states but it seems the norm over there all over Europe. Not judging just curious.
Just for shelter against weather, its so nice not having to deal with snow and rain when loading the feed or even hot sun when filling in the summer, you stay in the shade😀
😆🤦♂ That’s ridiculous! As of snow came after taking first cut in… and it’s not autumn it’s spring!🤦♂. It’s still wet in England, I haven’t started muck spreading in yet (22 April I did it last year which was late) Will summer return!?!
Yes, that was completely unnecessary 😅 Hopefully you have enough room for all the manure 🙃 and hoping the weather turns better for you so you can start! It seems we'll be in this cold spell for a week or two 🤔
It looks like you have lots of nice grass. Was the silage as dry as you wished? Here we still have a lot of rain, so no first cut and no fertilizer on the land yet. Greetings from Friesland, The Netherlands.
Yes, with lots of wind and hot temperature it dried very nicely 🙂 Yeah, hopefully it clears out for you soon 🙄

How many cm3 is the slurry tank? And what capacity do you recommend on a 110hp tractor with the same terrain like yours?
4.2. Maybe 5 m3, I was looking to get 5 but it would be too much so I'm glad I didn't buy it. Maybe with stronger and heavier tractor it would go, its not a problem if its dry but you often have to spread when the ground is wet...

What does it do when you flick up the grass like that?
It spreads the grass so it dries quicker and more even

why cover so little grass?
Well you can't leave it open. We only harvested seeded grass and a couple of permanent meadows, it was a bit early for the rest of the fields and too little time to harvest all 😉
