Your question at 9:00 - "Speaking about... left and right side of Malaysia... don't... don't the two areas still have a difference in government?"
To answer that question, you have to look at how Malaysia was formed. The Federation of Malaysia is what it is officially known as per the agreement that gave birth to the federation (known as the Malaysia Agreement 1963). The Agreement specified that some areas are under the jurisdiction of the respective States - Sabah and Sarawak. The federation was initially supposed to include Brunei but Brunei decided to be left out of the federation at the eleventh hour and became a British protectorate until the 80s while Singapore eventually left a couple of years later. So, currently Malaysia now has three entities - Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak. Any Bill passed in Parliament has to go through Sabah and Sarawak's Assemblies before they can be implemented and applied in the two States (not the same in the states in the peninsula). Both States also supposed to have jurisdiction over immigration which is why anyone from outside has to enter using a passport (has been negotiated to using the MyKad for fellow Malaysians) and anyone from outside who wants to work there also need to apply work permit (mostly just paperwork for fellow Malaysians). The head of States for Sabah and Sarawak are known as Yang Di-Pertua Negeri or simply Governors and the one running the States are the Chief Ministers (CM). Sabah and Sarawak has their own distinct land laws and also has their own legal bar. They merge at the Appeal Court and above.
While the peninsula has Malays, Chinese and Indians as their major races, Sabah and Sarawak have Dayaks, Chinese and Malays. The Dayaks in Sabah and Sarawak are very distinctive and they celebrate their differences, their cultural identities and languages. Religion-wise, Islam is the main religion in Malaya while Christianity is the main religion in the two States (in fact, religion was the main prickly issue that was negotiated (during the round table meeting known as the IGC) during the forming of Malaysia). Which is why... foreigners who visit Malaysia but never set foot in the two States shouldn't think that what they see in Malaya represents the whole of what Malaysia is all about.
So... don't be surprised when you do come for a visit.

On the subject of feasibility, it was more feasible during the 40s and 50s for the same reason why Indonesia managed to keep together - there was still a lack of national identity. Apart from a small circle of hardcore nationalists (In Indonesia & Philippines), most communities still simply followed the lead of their elites/nobles. Tribalism had yet to give way to ethnic nationalism. A pan-archipelago nationhood project was possible so long as all the local elites and their former colonial masters were willing to play ball.
That said, it would have been an ungodly struggle. The Philippines & Indonesia both faced multiple religious and secessionist rebellions, and to this day still struggle to balance between centralized government and decentralized autonomy. Uniting would have multiplied these sore points.
Perhaps one day Maphilindo would be possible, but we probably need to follow a gradual integration like the EU.
As for the undeclared war between Malaysia & Indonesia, it was called the *Konfrontasi* or *Confrontation*. To be honest, it was a a mess. The Indonesian military at the time were deeply divided between ideological lines, and it was only the communist leaning military units which were enthusiastic about it. While active self-sabotage was rare, the more nationalist-leaning units had a tendency to drag their feet and avoid combat.
Overall, apart from some border raiding and skirmishing, the only success Indonesia had was in whipping up support for a pro-Indonesian insurgency among Malaysia's border population, which later ironically morphed into a revolt in Indonesian Borneo which had to be put down. It was a pointless state of affairs, though some western leftist writers insist to this day the Konfrontasi and its associated costs forced the British Empire to largely abandon its commonwealth post-colonial dreams, turning it from the proposed Empire-lite, to the toothless cultural grouping it is today.

Indonesian commandos bombed McDonald House in Orchard Road, Singapore causing a few fatalities. Indonesian paratroopers were also caught in Malaysian jungles, they were taken to the radio station, to confess but were allowed to choose a song. But it was put on hold when the Euro monetary experienced some financial trouble. But yes, there will be an OCA (Optimum Currency Area) once ASEAN can establish a strong economic stability. Yet all those when it comes to monetary rules can’t join as there’s a condition. Like EU ( im living in France). They can join membership but not all are EU monetary members. UK was a member but they didn’t join the EU monetary membership. Even EU countries themselves have different monetary values ( based on local taxes or countries taxes) which is why Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece have cheaper buying power within EU than France or Nordic countries.

Even that between Malaysia Philippines we have lot of dispute territory and different ideology, the relationship is not always good, Malaysia will never taking any serious action with Philippines political sensitive issue, but we hope we can improve relationships between the two country.
