I remember 30 years ago, the hype was "wow, look at that, grip it and rip it." Then two years later they said "Daly's swing will never hold up..." Honestly, his swing is still the same. His pace of play has always been quick and remarkably comfortable to watch.
I don't know he gets around that gut. Lol. But, he does. I honestly believe his swing is the most dynamic swing on the PGA. It explodes of the head of the club. Amazing

Daly won the Erie PA Charity Classic right before the PGA win that vaulted him to stardom. 1991 maybe? He was fun to watch, and drank beer locally every night.
I've always liked John mainly because he doesn't take himself or the game too serious I believe he actually has fun on the course which I can't say that for a lot of the players.

I saw Daly on the top of the leaderboard for a few holes and I had to rub my eyes. For 15 or 20 minutes I was in anticipation for the greatest PGA championship ever. Then reality hit 🤬

A few years ago I got to see John Daly sing Knocking on Heaven's Door live at a Justin Moore concert. It was quite an experience!
