Just started crawling and found this video when thinking "bouncers looks fun too, but wouldn't they constantly be on their roof?". You answered my question.
If you're just playing, and not paying attention, you can flip. We have drivers that don't flip when racing though. They study the hills, and know they're buggies. It's really fun to watch.
I didn't know that they had an RC version of this type of competition!! Now this I could get into the real version is just not practical in my mind. There's so many different forms of radio control competition now that I couldn't even hope to get into all of it like I used to be 30 years ago
Heck yeah! With this form of rock bouncing, the whole family can be involved for a lot cheaper than buying a big bouncer. I know whole families where mom and dad and kids are involved in the racing. It's a great time!
Thank you for watching and commenting! There are several series spread out across the country. From Washington State to New Hampshire, plus the national series that travels throughout the south east. Pretty much if you want to race these days, it can happen. Let me know if you want help finding a race.
Thank you for commenting and watching! Yeah, it does get stressful with a few hundred people watching either in person or on the live feed, not to mention the $500 on the line.
nah this is definitely a wheel speed related deal.. loose dirt is the hardest hill climb there is... but the really aggressive tires is where many are making a mistake.. wheel speed n less traction is where ya wanna be.. it's the guys that get bouncing with aggressive tires that back flip n topple themselves out that are out fastest...
Of course! There is a playlist called "reveals" on this channel. There are several build reveals as well as finished products. I will get some some of the drivers this year, and do some more break down videos. Also check out one of our more recent videos with Beyond Limits and RC Fab Tabs, there is a break down of each buggy there too. It was a lot of fun! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Man, that is awesome to hear. Thank you for watching! It's all in the builders preference really. That's what I love about rock bouncing, is every buggy is different. There is no cookie cutters in rock bouncing. Sure, some fabricators have their own style and a lot of their buggies will resemble the same shape, but they are all different in their own way. You could absolutely design a roof that fits your needs or desires. Welcome to the madness! haha
Ya know, I was wondering if there were competitions like this ever since I saw the losi rock racer... interesting to see that they do, in fact, have a use. ^_^
Thank you for watching and commenting. This is from 2019. We will be dropping a new video from this past weekend, and you'll get to see some Ryft's ripping up these same hills.
@@RCCommand **** YEAH! That'll be pretty awesome. I've been watching a lot of exocage RC or what ever his name is and his ryft is pretty knarly. I shall subscribe
Why do they have so fast gearing? Is it given by rules of the race? Like.... yeah it is fun, but I have feeling I would do better with my slow Axial Wraith. And I wouldn’t break anything.
Thank you for watching and commenting! This is a National Rock Racing Association race. With their rules, you would be able to race the Ryft, in the "plastic class" because it has a plastic chassis. I hope this helps.
I dont get it why are these cars not killin this hill?? And why is there no 4 wheel steering on these?? It looks like my revo would drive right up that hill. . maybe in person its steeper then it looks. .
Thank you for watching! Some buggies do have rear steer. If you watch some of my other videos, you'll see guys using it. Your revo would probably do very well. However, they are not allowed, among several other RC platforms. If you would like to check out the rules of this series, you can visit www.nationalrockracing.com. @@RCCommand ya i figured that lol do u custom build those? They are sick ass cars dont get me wrong i just figured such awesome cars would rip up that hill no problem. . what state do they do those in?
@@2blades_rc650 The sport is so new, that drivers and builders are slowly finding ways to keep them "bouncer" but still function properly. They've come a long way in two years. This race was in TN. The series covers from as far west as Johnson Valley CA to as far east as AL. The schedule can be found at www.nationalrockracing.com.
@@RCCommand nice im in indiana but my dad lives in TN. . . im going to have to try and make some of the events and check it out in person. . thanks for all the info!

If you're looking to just buy a buggy that comes ready to go out of the box, I would recommend the Axial Ryft. A lot of the buggies here are custom built. That doesn't mean you need one to be competitive though.
