Service dial, plastic delrin brake, DNN bezel and... 16k? Imagine if it was a "correct" one. Unbelievable. Thanks for sharing. Great content and thoughts behind it.
As always great video, looking forward to next one! An exiting year for the Speedmasters as arrival of the new 3861 could mean another boost of interest for Speedmasters in general, and maybe a further push on prices for vintage Speedmasters...?
@@Speedmaster101 Yes it will be interesting to see what these one's you reviewed here will do at the auction, thank you for the video always a pleasure to watch! I got 6 Speedmasters and among them a 105.012.65, a 105.012.66 CB and two 105.003.65. Your website and these video's helped trigger my interest.
Great video as always. Thanks William. I'm also thinking that UK buyers should be aware that they will be paying an additional 20% VAT plus import duties when these watches arrive at UK customs?
I recently purchased a 1985 145.022 cal 861. The patina on the hour markers varies. The nine, ten, four and five markers are darker than the other markers. Is this unusual or a sign something is amiss? The seller says the dial, crystal, crown and bezel are all original. The bezel and dial are in very good condition. I paid $5150. According to Chrono 24 the price has increased to $6400 in just two months. Does this increase seem reasonable in such a short period of time? Thanks much for your input and these very informative videos.
It is quite possible for the plots to show some variation - obviously if it impacts the attraction then it will also impacts the value. As to C24, I dont pay much attention to what they have to say about speedmasters. Remember there are not the same numbers of sales as Rolex to put through the algorithm.
Hi William, really like the content, can I quickly ask...I'm looking to get an extract from Omega for my 3570.50 (no box/docs) but Omega are asking for both the case number & the serial number, the only number I have is the 8 digit number on the lugs, will there be a different serial number if I take the case back off? Thanks in advance...Tony
Hi Tony, well if it is all correct, the serial on the lugs will match the serial on the movement. I have not myself asked for a late model, with the number on the lugs. I always take the number from the movement. Let me know if you get the extract! Good luck
@@Speedmaster101 Hi William that answers my question, I have a receipt from Swiss Time with the number noted twice, my piece is from around 2004 but I'd like an extract in case I decide to move it on as I have no docs, thanks so much and I'll look forward to your next video, best wishes...Tony
The 105.012 looks good. I like that it shows it’s age and it’s not extremely expensive, cool watch.
Just fascinating how each piece has an identity of its own, more than any other watch. love the video's William. Fine job as always
Thank you!
Sobering to think how much has been changed on the first example.I think most people would have been caught out.Great informative video.
So true - I am not sure how it got through.

We shall see. The interest in Speedmasters is steadily increasing, as are prices for good examples.

Good point! Yes all purchases in HK if imported into any country with duty borders will have to address local taxes.
