    Hi, I loved this tutorial! Could you do a tutorial on post framing? This would be posts either 6x6 or 3ply 2x6's at 8' or 10' spacings and then horizontal 2x6's every two feet.

    Great tutorial! You have a lot of family files to choose from, but I have nearly nothing. How do we get the family files that you are using? Thanks.

    I have the same question as an other user, how do I get those libraries-family files? Thanks in advance!

    i loved the video!! How can we get the wood framing families?

      Hi, the families (Structural Framing and Columns) should be in your Revit default family Library, unless you chose not to install these Libraries when you first installed Revit.

    The top and bottom plates have a cut length associated with it which can be useful in the schedule. The vertical members are driven by top to bottom elevations and there is no cut length associated to it. Would you know how to incorporate that in the schedule?

    • @arhidac
      @arhidac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Vertical Members are under Structural Columns and in order to capture the length of each element in your project, you can use another parameter called "Length". "Cutting Length" works only for Structural Framing Schedule.

    How can you rotate vertical members to give it angle? For example, if you had a shed type roof, there the framing members would be at an angle? How can this be done? Thanks.

    • @arhidac
      @arhidac  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are several way you can do this. One way would be to go in a Section View and Create a Reference Plane at the Elevation and Angle desired for the Roof. Name the Reference Plane "1" or whatever you feel like. Then go into a Plan View and Set the Plane as Reference Plane called "1". Now when you Model a Beam or Beam System it will have the same angle as the Reference Plane.

      @AraP24 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arhidac thank you; I did the reference plane method but now the length is not recognized as a parameter when modeled in place. For the straight pieces, length is a recognized parameter. Would you have an idea for this?

    • @arhidac
      @arhidac  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AraP24 There are 2 parameters you can refer to. One is called just plain "Length" and there is one more called "Cut Length". For Example you can Cope or Cut the Beam using the Cut command (you can cut it on a Reference Plane for example). Length would be the total length of the beam before it has been cut or coped. For Beams I usually use "Cut Length" in my Schedules.

    • @AraP24
      @AraP24 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arhidac both length and cut length are not available parameters when modeling a beam in an angled custom plane. I used structural columns as the category to model in place on a custom sloped plane. Any ideas? Thanks.

      @@AraP24 When you select a beam do you see the "Cut Length" Parameter like in this picture : drive.google.com/file/d/14pTPU9LGxCwR52rNDkmTC24EFVq4XdWd/view?usp=sharing ???

    This takes too long for a simple wooden frame. Please find a way to speed up the process and make a tutorial on that.

    • @ChauHuh

      Too long? That was 20 minutes for the whole structure.

      @@ChauHuh You can do this in less than 10minutes with the custom-made wall curtain family in revit.
