The Pixel is solid for a foldable and matches the Fold 4, so those that claim the Pixel has poor battery life and then in the same breath say the Fold 4 is therefore a better phone are likely Samsung apologists. The reason that the Pixel did worse on YT was that the Galaxy has LTPO and can play video at 30Hz whereas the Pixel can only dial down to 60Hz. The reason the Pixel smashed the Samsung in gaming was likely that the Samsung was playing at higher FPS. The web browsing was won by Google as Chrome is likely better optimised on the Pixel than the Samsung. So this ties in with my thoughts that for general usage the Pixel Fold will likely still compete well with the Fold 5 despite that having a better chip. One more thing we can ignore in comments from the Pixel haters trying to justify them buying the Galaxy Fold.
Bro Ive had my Pixel Fold for 4 days upgraded from the Pixel 6 Pro. On the 6 Pro 5am to 5pm i have to charge my phone because i get down to 20-15% battery life. The Fold I've been getting 55 to 65% battery left. The times Ive watched a movie on the inside it drains like my Apple Tablet. Ive been impressed with Googles first attempt and i Love this phone can not wait for what the future holds and Android 14
I turned 120 hz off on both phones, since I don't notice a difference. my fold 4 I would use for 2 hours in mornings and be down to 60's my pixel fold in the 3 days I've owned it, I can go 2 hour and only be in the 80's. charging is quite fast for me, so whereas my fold 4 I would top up 3 times a day ( I panic when I drop down to the 50's) my pixel only needs one top up and I'm rolling through the day like a champ. even now I'm sitting at 72% and that's having used it all day 7 am to 3 pm. and no top up yet. I love the pixel fold and think people just want to fanboy for Samsung and not actually give this device a fair chance. it's a very good phone, and the extra features like Now Playing and the back of device tap options are game changers and give me more of a feeling of usefulness from this device than I ever had from fold 4 in the nearly year I've owned it.
How is the pixel having a slower charge time a negative?? It has a bigger battery therefore it's going to take longer to charge. You said the pixel battery was 10% bigger, the pixel was at 91 when the fold was at 100.... That about 10%. 🤦
Isn't it pretty obvious that a longer charge time is bad compared to a faster charging? Also there was already 25% difference at 15 min, 20% at 30 min etc. Charging time is not linear and the Samsung is indeed charging faster.
@@amirtorhan2762Most of us have no interest in fast-charging as we charge overnight. For top-ups the Pixel got 47% in 30 mins which should be enough for the rest of a long day. I see no issue with charging; both are relatively slow, but that is to avoid destroying the battery longevity. The Chinese are years ahead of the west with battery tech and have self-healing long life batteries that can have 3X as many full cycles than these two. So it is reasonable for this charging speed, so to save the extra cost of a new battery in 2-3 years time.
For gaming the Samgsung is likely running games at higher setting resulting in more power output. a more accurate test would be having them run at the same settings.
I think the problem is that the Samsung Node process is inconsistent, meaning one person's Tensor 2 chip will be better than another person's. This was very much evident with the Exynos 2200 in the s22 line last year.
Google has a history of putting out inconsistent phones, some customers have good experiences others bad, the question is, are you willing to spend $1800 and take a chance?

I bought the z fold 5 instead google didn't even have the 23 ultra in their trade in and if you had a s22 ultra theyd gave you 240$ yea no thanks samsung gave me 1k off with trade in so i got the fold 5 for 850$ ish and the pixel heat and the letter boxing with the social media apps its a bad look having huge black bars like for instagram and twitter yea no thanks again lol and the bezels are so ugly on the inner screen whats the point of having a nice outer screen if the inner looks worse than a z fold 4 samsung wins again

I'd like to see this test again once the pixel gets the android 14 update. I'm using the beta and noticing a significant increase in battery life.
Love the form factor of the pixel fold. Hopefully Z fold 6 next year adopts a front screen the size of the s23 ultra then it will be a sweet device.
