Hi Paula, I wish I could give you a list of 'quality shops that I have found on Aliexpress' but I don't have one ( ❛︵❛ ) My biggest takeaway from shopping online is the price doesn't always reflect the quality of the flowers so keep your eyes peeled looking at the smallest details! Hope my video has helped.
Great tips, but would have liked to see more 'thumbs up' examples with every suggestion you gave and clear examples of thumbs down ones while pointing out the specific reason too. More videos elaborating on this topic would help.
Hiya thank you for tips, could you please give me advice who to buy good quality silk from I do this display for family and friends, I live in uk Godbless 🙏❤️
Hiya Ebony 😊 I would love to be able to give you a list of shop names that good quality silk flowers locally in the UK but unfortunately I don't have one. I would say your best bet would be following the guidelines that I have mentioned in the video. Keep your eyes peeled and remember expensive not necessarily = great quality. I wish you the best of luck for finding products that work well for your project. I would love to hear from you about the display that you do and silk flowers shops that you have come across. Cheers, Janet x
Wish I would have seen this before spending $125 on a 10 inch bridal bouquet. I just could not find any fake flowers where I live so I had to order online. I didn't have faith I could do it myself haha
Hi Brooke ( ❛︵❛ ) I am sorry it didn't go very well for you. I hope the video has equipped you with the info that could help you choose silk flowers for other future occasions. And if you have any video topic ideas that you would like me to talk about, feel free to drop me a comment. I read every single one of them. (ˊ•͈ ◡ •͈ˋ)
Where are you based? The online stores you showed in the video, which country are they from? I have some very old, but expensive silk flowers from the UK which are now falling apart. I hate waste and would like to fix them. Can you do some videos on that. The plastic is breaking in some places, flower heads are breaking off from the stem (as opposed to coming apart), petals are coming apart. I know, the usual advice will be to throw them away and buy new ones :), but I am no longer in the UK and where I live I can't find any natural looking flower for the love of money. Do you have any suggestions? I tried using super glue once, and it melted and broke the plastic off at the joints!
Hi Anione. I am based in Hong Kong. The online stores which I have shown in the video were from Aliexpress. I believe they are based in China, like most of the silk flowers sellers on Amazon. Regarding your very old silk flowers, I would suggest giving the petals and leaves a quick wash in a bucket of warm diluted soapy water. (Test at a less noticeable spot first to see if the dye come off.) Once the dust and dirt got washed off, they will look 10 times better already! Rinse, pat dry and blow dry them. For fraying petals, you can fix them like how I did in my video (th-cam.com/video/8bgePM-Grgo/w-d-xo.html). For putting the plastic bits back to gather, the hot glue gun is your best friend 😊 I would love to know how the repairing go. Should you have more questions, please feel free to leave them here 😉 And thank you for the video idea suggestion. I will certainly put that on my topic list. Cheers, Janet x
@@embloome Thank you, Janet, for the very useful tips. I have never used a glue gun, should get one, but don't know anything about them. Can I buy just any one? Your tips in the video about what to look for while buying artificial flowers were very good, but remember, many of us aren't lucky to have your artistic sensibility, but can tell when the end product isn't good, but only after making an expensive mistake 😁. Request you to do a few more videos with detailed buying guidelines, more examples, where to buy, tips on vases and arrangements, also how to put different flowers together, keeping cost/budgets in mind. Showing us many options. I have a 3 feet tall vase (a gift) that's kept on the floor, bight patterned glazed ceramic. I just cannot understand what to put in it that would look good or even if I should put anything in it? Its so hard without guidance. If I buy something and it looks bad, it will be such a waste. But the right option could make a statement!
Hi Anione 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions. I'm glad to hear that you found my tips useful, and I appreciate your interest in learning more about artificial flowers and arrangements. Your feedback is invaluable, and I'll definitely keep your ideas in mind for future videos. As for the glue gun, I recommend getting one that can maintain a constant temperature and has a thin tip for better control over the glue volume. It's always a good idea to practice a bit before using it on your final project. Regarding where to buy silk flowers, I completely understand your concern and agree that it's important to be able to spot poor quality flowers to avoid making expensive mistakes. In my video 'How to shop for quality artificial flowers online', I've provided some guidelines to help evaluate the quality of the flowers you intend to buy, regardless of where you shop. If the flowers tick most of the boxes of being 'poor quality', then they may not be the best option for you, even if they are within your budget. As for your 3 feet tall vase, it would be difficult for me to make suggestions without seeing the vase and where you intend to place it. I'd be happy to discuss this further with you, so feel free to DM me on Instagram (@embloome). Thank you again for your support and feedback, and I look forward to connecting with you soon. Have a wonderful day!"
This is really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video. It will really help me when making my purchases.
That's music to my ears ヽ(^Д^)ノ Happy to hear you have found the video helpful.
Can you share some of the sites on Alliexpress that you have found quality flowers?
