Cruised with Royal Caribbean 40 plus cruises so I would thought I would book a 7 Day trip with MSC on this ship for a change in end of Jan 23... be something different and a change.quite excited too... enjoyed the video guys :-)
Echo your thoughts re embarkation - that Horizon terminal is REALLY efficient. It look me about 20 minutes to get onboard when I was on Virtuosa to Norway (around the same time as your cruise actually) - I was just SO impressed!
I've really enjoyed watching, as always! I've been signed up to Cruise Nation who send out daily emails with deals. There have been loads for MSC Virtuosa which are almost free, they're so cheap. So might give it a whirl. There was a one week cruise for about £279 or something ridiculous so worth a look. I loved Iona but my favourite so far is Britannia. 🥳
back again , getting on and off a 6000 plus ship is total poo from my experience , an hour to get out side .so no more for me unfortunately, big ships have to dock in container docks so far away that travel time to areas that you want to see is mostly bus time only , also all restaurants booked out months ago even though when you go there its only 30% occupied ,had a crap trip to china on the Ovation Of the Seas , great ship. but shows all booked out , tours booked out , customer service booked out , no local currency for tours , Did plenty of smaller cruises with Royal Caribbean and some the best memories ever , thanks for your info and keep it up , need to explore all activities and ship life , looking at a cruise now so i may do a review for you and put it up for info and comment . Thanks Andrew
Just back from 2 weeks on the Virtuosa. Between Southampton Port and my Cabin door a wheel was torn off my main suitcase, this also left a gaping hole in it. Customer services were awful, initially offering £50 on board credit. When I turned it down the Woman I spoke to crossed her arms, sucked on her teeth and called a supervisor. Eventually got £80 on board credit and was told I would have to get off at a Port of call and buy a new suitcase at my expense [97 Euros]. No offer of recompense, not even an apology. Worst CS I have ever come across from any Company I have ever dealt with. Had intended to take advantage of onboard discount and book my next Cruise with them, needless to say I didn't. MSC are the Ryan Air of the Seas. Next Cruise will be with P&O. Would rather pay a bit extra than have them take the pi$$ again. This was my Second Cruise with MSC, doubt there will be a Third.
Doesn't sound like your embarkation experience with the upsells was the norm. We got on the ship on 27th Sept and didn't experience any people asking to upsell. There was a desk to book the dining and carousel shows but nothing else.
Sorry to hear that you tested positive for the virus. Out of interest, did MSC refund a proportion of your drinks package charge for the days when you were unable to use it?
@@GeorgeandDan That is a very bad example of corporate greed by MSC. While I know that the issue of drinks packages is a hot topic, this is yet another reason not to buy one.
The one good thing was that they comped all movies in the room (and the room with the hot tub)… however, they are still yet to respond to a complaint over a staff member pushing Dan over which we made in June.
@@GeorgeandDan Sounds as though the complaint has been filed under pending (for ever!). I am on Preziosa soon - it is almost as cheap as staying in a Central London Premier Inn for a week; and there is food and entertainment on MSC!
Great ship shame it is spoiled by no seats to sit on in evenings,as bars have only about 100 seats each as most of the space in galleria is taken up by designer shops and even a chocolate factory.
I found the same problem, everywhere was rammed, waiting for a table for breakfast for 15 minutes, couldn’t get a seat in the evening, 5000 people onboard and 1000 were kids so rather noisy at times, alcohol very expensive as well, cost more than virgin and P and O for a drink, cheap cruise but expensive for booze and day trips
Utter Shambles - Awful Experience MSC’s lack of organisation and care for the safety and well-being of their passengers and staff were evident during a 12 night cruise we took from Southampton to the Canary Islands and back. The disorganisation was clearly on display during embarkation, safety drills and disembarkation when so many people were crammed into the corridors, staircases, and public areas that it was hard to move. Their ships are clearly holiday factories, built to maximise profit and passengers are crammed into these ships like sweetcorn in a tin. Cruise-prices are cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. The onboard experience is more of a Butlins/Benidorm theme with toddlers, kids, tweens and teens having run off the ship. Everything is based around families and children and unruly kids, often have unruly parents. The Virtuosa was an absolute nightmare to be in for 12 days. Never again! It was a truly awful experience from beginning to end
Absolutely, agree. Just been on this ship, witnessed several fist fights between unruly kids as well as being involved in stopping a food fight ourselves as the staff/security are non existent when needed to put some sort of rules in place. Night time in the buffet is a free for all where kids seem to accumulate after 10 and cause havoc. So many adolescent kids who have no respect for staff or others on the boat. If this is what the future of Britain looks like I am very fearful. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. Never witnessed anything like it, we saw 4 fist fights involving kids so there must have been many more we were not aware of. Such was the problem that a passenger who'd had enough of rude abusive kids, took it upon himself to attack a group who seemed to think they ran the place and in any normal circumstance would have been given asbos. The director was straight out of Butlins and the target clientele seems to be Northern English council estate, preferably on benefits. Never again.
The G is Silent Dan, Meraviglia pronounced mer a villa great info though thanks you both, we are booked for March next year not paying much more than you but for the Yacht club, 20% discount because we booked on board the Meraviglia this September.

Hey, sadly not. No refunds were offered at all by MSC.

hi I really like MSC for the price and free drinks I want to go on Seaview.
Great ship shame it is spoiled by no seats to sit on in evenings,as bars have only about 100 seats each as most of the space in galleria is taken up by designer shops and even a chocolate factory.
This really worries me as I love the evenings on board a cruise ship at the bars! 2 weeks booked in July so this is a worry!!
