    IF YOU DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT DRONES, PLEASE DONT DO REVIEWS. after this review alot of people will be mis informed.
    This is such a great drone, 2nd best after the mavick mini if you are looking for a cheap under 250 gram knockoff.
    It is a stunning gps drone, 2 versions 200 mtr or 1000mtr range. pretty high quality brushless motors! this thing even in a little gusty weather holds its ground. i have the 1000mtr version and it doesnt do 1000 in my case. video on a good day open space 300mtr.
    Max. distance i got was 860mtr so i would say not bad at all!! and 20+min flight time.
    cheers mate and work on the reviews

    The drone uses an optical flow sensor when flying close to the ground as well as gps. When you were flying close to your house, you may have had a poor gps signal. The drone kept going forward because you were flying over smooth concrete not a textured surface that the camera could see better and therefore hold it's position better. The optical flow sensor is a camera and it can't work properly in low light conditions and over smooth bland surfaces. If you were flying over grass for instance, it might have stabilized better. Cheaper drones have cheaper components and therefore have different flying characteristics. They can't fly as well in low light conditions as well as other more expensive brands such as the DJI Mavic Mini. If you don't perform a proper compass calibration, the drone will not fly correctly and that's why you had the toilet bowling of your drone. Cheaper drones sometimes require a little more attention to detail, that's why they are cheaper. For some people, the need for attention to detail is a good thing, because they need to practice and learn how to fly and properly maintain a drone before purchasing a more expensive one. It's better to crash and damage a cheaper drone when learning to fly. When learning to fly, some folks don't have the money to spend on repairs when they crash their more expensive drone. Just my two and a half cents. Happy flying.

    OK, I gave up watching at 6.30, in the first flying scene you surround the drone with corrugated sheet metal which will both stop GPS and WiFi signals and cause signal reflections, you then find an area with overhead telephone wires, oh dear me. Take Ron Shaw and JimmyZ RC's comments into account, the drone didn't really stand a chance. 1 out of 10, go sit in the naughty corner ;-}}

    The drone appears to be toilet bowling. Doubt you did a proper calibration and probably not enough satellites locked in. This is just my opinion.
    Learn to do a proper calibration. 3 or 4 times around horizontally then 3 or 4 times around with camera up. Watch the screen on your phone. Then set the drone down and wait for satellites. Wait for 12 satellites or more not just 7. Do the calibration away from your home or anything metal, don’t wear a watch, take anything metal out of your pockets. Don’t do it on top of your car.

    You didn't calibrate the compass correctly. I have flown 3 different ex5s many times with no issues at all with stability. The only issues have been with losing the wifi feed to my phone but the controller never lost communication and the battery also fits very tightly into the drone and can be difficult to remove on all 3 ex5s. Also, the camera is only fair due to it not having a 3-axis gimbal. But it is a good little drone for a beginner or if you are only looking for a flyer.

    I just received mine. Tried it out at the local schoolyard for 5 minutes. So far the FPV feed/range is very disappointing when compared to my DJI, MJX and Hubsan GPS Drones. But it does fly well. Right now charging two batteries. In 3 hours I will put it through its paces and determine whether or not it is possible to take some useable video. Also mine was a lot more stable than yours.
    PS. Buy a couple of toy quadcopters (preferably without altitude hold and optical flow) to improve your skills and figure out orientation. Also cheaper to crash. In your first crash you turned the drone around with the camera facing you. Then you pulled the right stick back thus backing it into the wall. You should have pushed the right stick forward to bring it toward you.

    • @gimpman1357
      @gimpman1357 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Brendan Koh I think it's ok to make videos as a newbie so other newbies can see what really happens. Also ok to compare to DJI so long as you don't expect a DJI. I compare it to my DJI mini just so people know what they are not getting. The ex5 flies similar to the DJI mini and is quality built. But the camera is a BiG fail. No record to SD card. No stabilization. And FPV feed is horrendous (no range) Also the APP does not work. For $120 better to get the MJX b7. Better value for a beginner or someone looking for something else to fly around under 250g
      If the ex5 had record to SD card, and solid wifi fpv up to 250m and the app worked it would be the best beginner gps drone under 250g ever. I ended up installing a simple analog FPV setup and now fly it with goggles, th-cam.com/video/-6Bv2KOabAM/w-d-xo.html
      PS. What’s really sad is the professional reviewers ie. captain drone, alishanmao, and Albert Kim somehow made the camera look good.

    • @gimpman1357
      @gimpman1357 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brendan Koh Not sure which one you mean when you say best of the 3? I have the Bugs 3. But I prefer the Bugs 3 mini (ie Eachine ex2 mini). Issue with the mini bugs is extra batteries are expensive although I was able to solder a JST connector so I could use other batteries.
      The ex5 is good for the price. However sole purpose of gps drone is video. So kind of a fail. I bought the 3 battery version of the ex5. But really only need 2 batteries because 22 minute actual flight time is a LONG time. I believe the ex5 batteries are available for $20.

    • @gimpman1357
      @gimpman1357 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brendan Koh If you are not worried about weight the mjx b20 is better than the b7. Since you already have the b3 and b6, a gps drone will be easier to fly. You are basically just pushing a camera around to get nice video. And because it has gps and RTH you can safely send it out further.

    The Mavic Mini 2 is about X10 time superior in every way... And also you can have INSURANCE on it in case you lost it . not Eachine5...camera and gimbal quality of Mavic is Incomparable and Stability to... Oh ya and the maveric mini 2 keep a track of flight of GPS not the Eachine5... so you lost it and don't see where it crash, do like me trow your controler wriht to garbage.

    Here’s my review. I make comparisons to the DJI Mavic Mini and MJX B2SE.
    1. Do not buy the ex5 if you are expecting even amateur video results. First of all I could not find the video anywhere on my phone. But I did find the pictures. No record to SD card is a big fail. Record to SD card is a must to get smooth video and more importantly give you a video even if the FPV feed conks out. Lastly FPV reception is garbage. (FPV good to about 50m/175 feet beyond 50m it is intermittent and totally freezes at 120m/400feet). And lag is 3 seconds or more. I tried it 10 times. In exact same conditions my DJI mini gets 700 to 800m. My mjx b2se does 250m but because it has record to sd card you can get good video up to 1 km (the range of the drone).
    2. The good. It flies well. Hover is stable. GPS is reliable (RTH was flawless). Flighttime was 20 minutes which is good. Orbit works (actually l like how it works). Follow me worked. But of course no video to show for it. As a comparison the flight time of the DJI mini is 22 minutes.
    3. Like the Mavic mini the ideal conditions are winds less than 7 mph with gusts no higher than 12 mph (ie. 11 kph wind and 20 kph gusts)
    Final conclusion I plan to mount a the tx03 FPV Camera right over top the stock camera and use a analog FPV screen or goggles to see where I am going. I am confident it will go at least 500m.

    Poor review. If you can’t be bothered to learn to calibrate it properly, then don’t be critical.
    You didn’t do the magneto calibration correct and you didn’t calibrate the gyro. Not the stone’s fault.
    I have an EX5. For $100 it’s superb. I’ve never had a problem. Hovers well except in very high winds . 23 + min flight time.
    Camera limited by no gimbal and I do get fpv freeze at range.
    But for a fifth of the price of a mavic mini it’s great value for money. Want longer range and smoother video pay 5x price.
