Thats why she is the "George Harrison" of Fleetwood Mac... She didnot need the "limelight like Nicks, Buckingham and to an extent Fleetwood" she let her lyrics do the talking!!! ;)... (I think that McVie gets left out too.. his bass, espcially on The Chain is up there with Jack Bruce from Cream and the great John Entwistle from The Who)...
Christine didn't really want to be a front woman or in the spotlight. She was content in the shadows. I do agree, that she is a major force in FM's longevity and shoe deserves more praise! On a side note, she is extra glowing in this video!
I've always thought this was a terrifically distinctive song. And it is. It has some very unique approaches in percussion, in layering, in vocal harmonies. Christine McVie was a largely unheralded songwriter. May she rest in sweet repose.. .
Adeus Christine. Linda, talentosa, maravilhosa!!! Hoje meu mundo ficou mais triste, nossos ídolos maravilhosos estão partindo. Descanse em paz!!! Obrigado!!!
This song is a masterclass in how to write a great pop song. Everything flows from McVie’s Bouncy piano at the low end, Her Voice above that; in unison with Buckingham thru the midranges. Then Buckingham’s guitar at the high end. 4 Chords, Neither McVie or Buckingham using any vocal acrobatics. The fancy stuff is all in the lead guitar, which is a simple phrase played with complexity.
I have Loved this Song for decades. First heard in 1982. Incredibly beautiful. First time I saw this video February 2023. The visuals match perfectly with the lyrics and tempo of the song.

Christine McVie is the most UNDERRATED artist of all time !
I’m a big Stevie nicks fan, but I agree Christine was way underrated and deserves more of the spot light than she got!
Thats why she is the "George Harrison" of Fleetwood Mac... She didnot need the "limelight like Nicks, Buckingham and to an extent Fleetwood" she let her lyrics do the talking!!! ;)... (I think that McVie gets left out too.. his bass, espcially on The Chain is up there with Jack Bruce from Cream and the great John Entwistle from The Who)...
yas hunny👏💘💘💘
Christine didn't really want to be a front woman or in the spotlight. She was content in the shadows. I do agree, that she is a major force in FM's longevity and shoe deserves more praise! On a side note, she is extra glowing in this video!
No doubt..
I've always thought this was a terrifically distinctive song. And it is. It has some very unique approaches in percussion, in layering, in vocal harmonies.
Christine McVie was a largely unheralded songwriter. May she rest in sweet repose.. .
RIP Christine. We are blessed that your singing will live on in our hearts forever. 😢
The fancy stuff is all in the lead guitar, which is a simple phrase played with complexity.
and no Stevie Nicks
I have Loved this Song for decades. First heard in 1982. Incredibly beautiful. First time I saw this video February 2023. The visuals match perfectly with the lyrics and tempo of the song.
This is one of the best Fleetwood songs! What a voice, talent, and oh the sweet sweet harmony. The music world will not be the same, you will be forever missed. RIP Christine. I feel like standing and applauding your life, thank you for all the beautiful songs
I love Stevie. But honestly Mr. Buckingham's and Mrs McVie's voices together make pure magic 🤩
Absolutely Magic .❤️😘
It is "The Magic That Surrounds" them ALL!.
Just to paraphrase Stevie
Can't believe she's gone. Loved this band. An incredible talent and human lost. RIP Christine.
The greatest love song ever written with desert scenes. And in addition their is a tinge of a cowbell playing in the background. The lyrics are exquisite. Christine McVie at her finest.
😔 Sad news just confirmed... RIP Christine McVie. My favorite Mac song right here....
Why did you need it "confirmed"?
@@clvrswine When I posted this it was about 30 minutes after the first Twitter post. Fake death hoaxes online sadly are a thing.
The Band won't be the same without any one of them, Christine was no exception. Real talent. 🙏
Well seeing as the bands been playing without Lindsey I'd say that's not true
@@georgedilman It's not Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey.
All need to be there otherwise it ain't FM
She was the glue of the band
RIP Christine! I looked up to her every day of my 8th grade year and I'm so devastatingly heartbroken to know that she has died. She'll always stay my teenage idol.
Christine always captured my imagination with that crystalline voice & those pretty blue eyes. Special artist! RIP Christine Perfect.
They played this video on MTV everyday in the summer of ‘82.
Quite memorable, indeed.
Every day? This sucker was in Heavy Rotation -- several times a day...
As well they should have. Very unique song.. retro Fats Domino vibes, retro 50s guitar vibes, brilliant modern melodic guitar solo, doo wap vocal elements, and absolutely PERFECT production
I was about to turn 8 at the time and, upon re-watching this video, it appears that these images are burned in my brain for the rest of my life...
`Back then MTV was, at least for me at 7, pure magic.
That note Mcvie lands at 2:55....insane and ear candy. Way too underrated as a singer. Always thought she and Mercury should've recorded something together.
If you listen to this genre of music, you have good taste in music honestly.
I do, I'm only 38
@@arnelevans6779 me too, im only 19
@@thegodfather9229 Right on, there's more great artists to listen to. Artists like Steely Dan, Average White Band, the Doobie Brothers, War.
Thank you
Thank you
RIP Christine! You and Buckingham together with him on guitar was magic! I love the entire band but you two are my favorite.
Rest in peace, Christine McVie. A phenomenal song by a spectacular group! She will be missed. Thank you for the music and memories.
Descansa en paz Christine
Gracias por tu música en Fleetwood Mac, que alegraron mi adolescencia, música que será eterna
Una de mis bandas preferidas su musica es increible e inmortal y a Christine la adoro como artista
An awesome song by Fleetwood Mac from 1982. In my area we didn't have cable tv yet so no MTV but this song got a ton of radio airplay and rightfully so, it's a great song from the 80's. Takes me back to being a kid again.
It's 2024. I'm now 62 and this song *still* sends shivers through me. What a timeless, stunningly beautiful work of art.
