I have: one pair of much-loved black Docs, one pair of black ruffly flats, one pair of giant knee high steel toe platforms that are coming apart because I refused to take them off for two years. Is there a subcategory of "minimalist cheapass goth"? Cuz that's me XD
I think there were a few oversights...army combat boots in the 80s, jungle warfare boots in the 90s, and engineer/motorcycle boots pretty much anytime. People would often festoon them with spike bracelets or metal of some kind. I think I saw a few Creepers in there, which were mostly late 80s/early 90s.
The video was pretty cool I know I've rocked plenty of doc Martin's and I have some cool old ones I find in thrift shops especially my Victorian looking shoes. I wish I had more opportunities to wear heels and platforms so pretty guess I'll just have to make my own opportunity. As always love your videos and style, much love and respect!
the pilgrim looking shoes were originally Fluevogs (Munsters) and then all the cheaper brands knocked them off. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Fluevog has a beautiful pair of sandals like these now named Dee for the lady who made them famous, the singer of Dee Lite.The pony looking shoes are Fluevog Grand Nationals (Holy fuck they're expensive) - John Fluevog worked with Doc Martens but they split off very early (maybe 70s?), that's why they have some similar style boots, I guess (the oxblood boots in the video I think are also Fluevogs)
The Fleuvogs were ripped off by many companies. I have the demonia witch shoes/ pilgrim shoes. Demonia is not known for their quality, but the ones I have are still going strong and pretty sturdy. The Fleuvogs were amazing though. I remember Lady Miss Kier from DeeLite!! She was life, omg...
Emily Rachel Gilley The singer for Deee-Lite was Lady Miss Kier not Dee. I was friends with her and DJ Dmitry in the late 80s-early 90s, as he was the DJ at a nightclub I worked, the Pyramid, NYC. I want to say they were roommates, not sure, but she was often around when he was spinning and the band was aptly named as both were quite delightful and not pretentious, even after "Groove is in the Heart" skyrocketed. ⚡️Jet

I love how Black Friday slowly goes crazy over the shoes! I've never been a huge fan of platforms, they're hard to walk in, but I love combat boots and those bat-winged shoes were adorable.
The 90s section with the knee high new rocks was my favourite part. I have a pair of silver cobweb nr boots but they're not knee high. That first pair of pikes with the heel were gorgeous too! 😍

Luckily I have most of these including Transmuters, witch shoes and the beloved pikes. In the 1980's and 90's some of the best shoes were designed. She had two pairs of those in different colours (possibly patterned) and used to wear one of each often. It looked really cool (and was yonks ahead of when Helena Bonham-Carter did it!) Out of my two (soon to be 3) pairs of Boots my dark purple Doc Martins have been reliable and trusty pair of boots (I have even got hiking in them for 5 hours straight). They look a little rugged but they've not broken at the bottom since I have had them, which is almost two years now. I guess I will always have a huge love for my Docs. My other favourite types of boots are the platforms/creepers (which I am getting soon). All of those shoes were amazing

I've never even heard of Pikes, but I had Fluevog's that were similar, very, very similar. If you go to their site look at their "Flueseum" under Our Story, you'll see a few pair of shoes featured in the video, the Flueseum only goes back to 1999, although I was getting mine at the Seattle Washington shop in the US right when they opened it in 1985 (I was but a wee little gothlette of 16 then). I think having a Fluevog shop down the street from where I lived was a huge influence on my taste in shoes.

All the ones you liked were by John Fluevog, they still have a few gothy pairs of shoes (I'm in love with The Alison which has been around for about a year or two). They aren't cheap, but cheaper on eBay of course.
I still wear docs. I have a pair of vintage 8 eye purple docs I picked up on ebay. I had been wanting a pair of purple docs for ages. I am glad I found them. I also have a pair of black 14 eye docs. As well as a two strap doc marten mary jane sort of shoe. But its not the one with the brougeing; instead i has triangles cut into the top. Yep you can't go wrong with docs. Especially the vintage ones made in England.
I love my docs, they are all-around comfortable and go with everything. I have a pair of charcoal grey Pascals that are my current everyday footwear choice unless it's too hot out.
Only thing I have to say is SHOES GLORIOUS SHOES!!!! I WANT THEM ALL!!! Even though the pairs that may cause me to break my neck. It's Black Friday your videos always make my day.
i love funtasma shoes tbh... i own a pair of the victorian granny boots... i wore then for like a whole night and a halloween even and my feet were killing me so i decided to just put gelly insoles in them and it fixed the problem... now i have no issues
I loved the little lolita ones with the bows, and the red ones at 4:14. I myself mostly wear Converse shoes, which is about as fancy as I can afford to get, unfortunately. Haha. I did recently get some pretty rad Mary Jane-ish shoes from a yard sale, slightly Victorian looking. Not as epic as the Demonia Evil Crybaby Mary Janes, but still cute.
Also I believe 1980s those buckle pointed shoes are Winklepickers, Ducky wears them in pretty in pink I was going to buy a pair but they are so expensive from $100-$300 😢 fave brands for shoes like these are Y.R.U, Jeffrey Campbell, T.U.K. for creepers, Demonia, dollskill makes some cute ones too there are sooo many sites to find cute shoes like these I want them all haha! My favorite are the winklepickers and the Platform heels, all the platforms 😍

I still wear docs. I have a pair of vintage 8 eye purple docs I picked up on ebay. I had been wanting a pair of purple docs for ages. I am glad I found them. I also have a pair of black 14 eye docs. As well as a two strap doc marten mary jane sort of shoe. But its not the one with the brougeing; instead i has triangles cut into the top. Yep you can't go wrong with docs. Especially the vintage ones made in England.

I love my docs, they are all-around comfortable and go with everything. I have a pair of charcoal grey Pascals that are my current everyday footwear choice unless it's too hot out.
Only thing I have to say is SHOES GLORIOUS SHOES!!!! I WANT THEM ALL!!! Even though the pairs that may cause me to break my neck. It's Black Friday your videos always make my day.

i love funtasma shoes tbh... i own a pair of the victorian granny boots... i wore then for like a whole night and a halloween even and my feet were killing me so i decided to just put gelly insoles in them and it fixed the problem... now i have no issues

I loved the little lolita ones with the bows, and the red ones at 4:14. I myself mostly wear Converse shoes, which is about as fancy as I can afford to get, unfortunately. Haha. I did recently get some pretty rad Mary Jane-ish shoes from a yard sale, slightly Victorian looking. Not as epic as the Demonia Evil Crybaby Mary Janes, but still cute.

Also I believe 1980s those buckle pointed shoes are Winklepickers, Ducky wears them in pretty in pink I was going to buy a pair but they are so expensive from $100-$300 😢 fave brands for shoes like these are Y.R.U, Jeffrey Campbell, T.U.K. for creepers, Demonia, dollskill makes some cute ones too there are sooo many sites to find cute shoes like these I want them all haha! My favorite are the winklepickers and the Platform heels, all the platforms 😍
