Learned a couple differences however I did recognize the 99 vs the 66. Yep, I still got it. I am not talking about the number of Singers I own and maintain. I love them all.
I picked up a 99 at yard sale this summer. Cleaned all dust bunnies out and a good oiling. Runs like the day it was made. Use it for piecing fabric for quilts. Such a nice stitch. Thanks for the videos.always helpful.
Thank you for this video. I have a 66 and 99 and just pulled them out last week to use. There were minor issues with the motor belt of the 99, which needs to be replaced.
I used the Serial Number Archive to find the Year, Month and Model Number. Mine was made in Feb 1916. I just picked it up and it sews great. Just a little cleaning and oiling and cleaned up the bobbin area to remove the dust and tangled threads and found it sews perfectly. Adjustment was needed a little and Im stoked. Tons of attachments and a drawer full of antique buttons. Loads of new needles, New treadle belt will arrive on Thursday this week. It is missing one drawer in the machine table. Other than that it is a solid little machine but it does need new decals to make it pretty again. Any clue how to remove decals without damaging the original paint?
The shellac top coat would need removing using methylated spirit or denatured alcohol first. The decals are water slide so I'm guessing they would not take much removing. The original black is Japanning so should be pretty durable.
I picked up a 66 recently but it needs work. Are these worth anything to sell? It's on a table with the pedal below and has all the parts and even extra parts
Do you know what size the leather motor belt is? I have the portable 99 with bent wood cover and the leather belt fell apart and was replaced with crappy rubber. The body of mine has no decorative decals
Can you give any advice on getting a bit (part 32515) from the needle bar mechanism, out of my 66k i use for spares to put in my 66 treadle where the bit has sheered. Ive got the bottom free. I have a photo i could send if you are willing to help. Many thanks for many wonderful videos.
The Singer 66 and 99 are two of the original workhorse machines created by the company. Cast iron and all steel construction made them truly "heavy duty"............today they make disposible plastic garbage! Once the greatest name in sewing machine history, its now but a shadow of itself.

I love my 66s. I have two lotus machines and they work so beautifully and look beautiful when they're out!
I have to agree but I yearn for a Red Eye!

I like your videos ; very informative. I have a Singer 201, Halvena 121 (Lada) , a Lada 121 and a Zundapp Elconamatic 3b
I meant Halvena T132.
Sewing on a well maintained 201 is an experience in itself unlike any other!
I picked up a 66 recently but it needs work.

Yes, they have a value. But it depends on condition and where in the world you are.
Thank You ...
You're very welcome!
Thank you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️

I'll see if I can find out for you

Yes. Send the photo to my facebook page and I'll take a look
Hi I woder if the 66 could be used on leather?. Many thanks.
It can, with the right needles and thread. But only for garment weight fabric. For anything heavier you would need an industrial machine.
Thank you.
I have a serial # GO 758535, I think it is a 99, but my decals aren’t the same shown on your video. Any advice?
G-0758535 is a 128 model

Not even the same company. The Singer name was bought by, I believe, a Chinese company
I just bought both 66 and 99 from a thrift store but they need repairs
Probably just need cleaning and a good oiling. There's not too much can go wrong with these. I have a video on reconditioning the 99.
Please send me.price?
That you I thought I had a 99 and I have a 66. It’s very useful because my machine need works 🫶
