      If people get that, they're from the BBC studios, not the ends 🤨 One thing you quickly learn in street language is "yes officer", which translates to "I don't want to get beaten up today, thank you"

      You can see why a show like this is so rare on the BBC when there are saboteurs among us.. we need our own TV network and not have to rely on THEM to offer us a little airtime.

    • @DeborahWalkerXOXO
      @DeborahWalkerXOXO 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@darganx to be honest creatives need to leave this place sometimes, go to the Caribbean or Africa and do things there. I feel it's not all about a lack of resources when it comes to the quality and content. We gotta start viewing our "homelands" as fertile ground for the Real Wakanda. We had the Year of Return. Maybe we need to let this place fall, seeing as they keep saying we're not wanted or needed.

    • @gilgameshofuruk4060
      @gilgameshofuruk4060 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DeborahWalkerXOXO As a late fifties white male, can I just say that I found Little Miss Jocelyn by accident and think she is absolutely brilliant. Given some of the bilge passing for comedy these days, it's ridiculous that such a fresh and original talent is ignored by the programme commissioners.

    • @DeborahWalkerXOXO
      @DeborahWalkerXOXO 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gilgameshofuruk4060 her content is definitely BBC3 material.
      But if you notice the BBC as a whole is quite hostile to black content for some years now - black history month has been consistently ignored by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Which had stated aims of Educating, Informing and Entertaining. Yes, black content SHOULD be available all year, but during black history month, surely they can collate the content at least?
      One year they made a big deal about ROMAN history during black history month.
      Anyway, the issue is her target audience don't watch TV live, we have too much to do, we watch on iPlayer or even TH-cam. iPlayer currently has the entire run of the Real McCoy available, you might enjoy that.

    • @gilgameshofuruk4060
      @gilgameshofuruk4060 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeborahWalkerXOXO You make good points. TV in general has become governed by accountants and people with degrees in media studies rather than creatives. I used to watch the Real McCoy as well, but I'm afraid I'm not modern enough to do I-player, though!

      It’s an unnatural accent anyway,as beyond,say,2nd.or subsequent generations,natural influences would have ironed-out the original Patois to be gradually merged into a broader local accent,such as a Scottish,Welsh,Birmingham,Manchester...or whatever,accent. It is an affectation,adopted for some social reasons.
      Do people who affect a “Posh” accent think that they sound convincing....or just plain silly and pretentious?
      ( Some of us do,in reality,speak naturally,in a BBC-type accent...as did my parents,my grandparents and so on...without forcing it,or affecting it !)
      I have lived in Canada for over 30 years,and have not lost my Beeb type accent...whereas my Canadian-made son has an entirely Canadian accent! Nothing forced,nothing affected,all natural!
