    I am in the US and I found it also comes in a spray. The price is comparable to the liquid. Great find and thank you so much for all of your testing. Truly appreciate your taking the time and cost to help us with the struggle of coating our coasters. You Rock!!!

    After seeing your video, I searched for this over here (The Netherlands) and found the same product, but another brand and in a spray can.( I resined a coaster once and that did not work either with a hot coffee mug..:(

    I belong to an egging group (psansky) and some of the professional artists use this product. And I thought I'd share this post from that group. Because after much research and discussion this is a very dangerous product and should be used cautiously.
    "i felt uneasy about the KBS Diamond Coat being used in homes so I read the product directions and MSDS. Go ahead and use it to coat your eggs but make sure to either make a paint booth or apply the finish in a room that is not in your house. This is an automotive product and is meant to be applied by people wearing respirators and gloves. You are risking your health and the health of everyone you live with when you are using this product in your home. It is a petroleum and petroleum distillate product. Making a paint booth or fume booth is easy enough for any of you who already have dust boxes since it's the same concept: a box with ventilation to the outside. Please don't let the shiny bling distract you from safety. I am not saying don't use it. I am saying use it with precautions: respirator, gloves and preferably in the garage."
    Even while it's dry and curing its still releasing gasses (ie those bubbles) that are harmful to breathe, that you might not smell. Please wear gloves and at least safety glasses so the fumes won't damage your eyes.

      I have also had trouble with small print on product lables in supermarkets, a solution that works for me is to use my mobile ph to take as clear a picture of the lable as I can, then zoom up on the picture to read the formerly invisible lines/ink. Warning; supermarket staff tend to ask if there's anything wrong. I just tell them, "Yeah, with my eyes!", they're used to me now.
      My reason for doing this is twofold, my eyes are not as good as they used to be, and there are often ingredients my wife reacts badly to, so if I'd like to try a product different to our normal habits, I scrutinise the ingredients with my mobile camera come electric microscope first. Works a treat, for me.

    There is a KBS site for the USA at:
    www.kbs-coatings.com
    They have the Diamond finish in can or aerosol. The site advertises they do free shipping for all US states (excluding Hawaii) for orders over US$50 and only US$5 if under US$50. They also service Canada. Not sure if they ship further than that.
    They also have a XTC (Xtreme Temp Coating) clear topcoat available for the US market (also in aerosol or can) which isn't listed for sale in Australia, only the coloured coatings in the XTC range. This product has an even higher temp withhold range than their Diamond Coating.

    • @donnasiegert6975
      @donnasiegert6975 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suspect it’s way cheaper to use than resin. Easy to apply. Only caveat I found on forums is to make sure you be careful closing can up. It cures via moisture removed from air. If you leave too much air inside of can it will solidify. One gentlemen recommended using a product called Bloxygen. He said to put lid on the gently tip open the lid and spray the Bloxygen in. The Bloxygen is Argon gas and protects the product. Google KBS Diamond Finish clear coat. Read all forums on it. Even fishing lure makers use this. I ordered both products plus a respirator as I have asthma. Would need this if I did resin anyway. But this will work great. I wonder if using silicone if we’d need to clean that off since it requires a solvent for clean up. Maybe another experiment?

      Go to the kbs site and read about it. It says it withstands heat up to 250 degrees F. Boiling water is 212 degrees so this product should work with ease and since it's the consistency of water and it says not to put it on thick it should end up being cheaper than resin with the same look.

    Congratulation!!! Thank you Lady, you found the solution! Please, can you just describe the brand and the Name of it one more time? I must try to get it in Germany. Thank you so much! I did some tiles, and if it works, I can put things on them without making a desaster.

    We can get it in the states from amazon for $38.95. It also comes as a spray for $19.95 and says it’s heat resistant to 250 degrees F. The pint had bad reviews because of the lid getting stuck to the can.

      Definitely wear an organic vapour filter mask if spraying either aerosol or through a spray gun. A Sundstrom Basic Box Respirator Gas Mask Kit (SR217 Organic Gas filter) is a good choice. Disposable organic filter respirators are also available. Go to a specialist safety shop or an automotive paint shop.
