Very nice Chris. I did these, plus enabled gong when opening the door with key in dash. And coded folding the mirrors on Fob and CA too. And probably I'm coding out the mirror auto dim. They are too dark too see enough when passing at the high way. Dutch regards, Nico.
Hej Nico_e39_335i_DCT , Mike here (IJmuiden), today we tried coding my E92 but it failed all together in coding any option at all ... you got any ideas?
@@verreari Hi Mike. Maybe you use the wrong cable. a lot cheap Chinese obd cables do not work. And I use the Bimmergeeks BMW tools. I had some problems because of a weak old battery when I started coding. After changing the battery(90Ah agm)and a strong better charger I had no coding problems at all. Cheers Nico.
@@verreari Did you open INPA to make sure the cable was connected correctly? If not, you might need to set the COM port and latency in device manager. There are other videos about how to configure a K/DCAN cable for use on a windows machine, look for those instructions.
Hi Mr Barn, thanks for the video showing options, recently got the software installed and a K+DCAN cable, one thing I found helpful being a newbie was using NCS Dummy to manipulate the trace file as it translates the options into meaningful English, I know you have to select the correct firmware for you module but that’s easy to get. One option people might want to turn on if turning on the digital speedo, is either true speed or the corrected speed so it matches the analog dial, you might not of seen this using notepad if your only looking for a specific option. Also not sure if it’s there for everyone as my car is a LCI. Thanks again, I’m eager to explore more options and want to add the Professional radio option to my vehicle so hunting for the procedure and codes to add.
On my car the speedo correction option was already set to "aktiv" for both the digital and analog gauges, even when the digital gauge was disabled. So, unless this was messed with previously (unlikely!), you shouldn't need to change anything besides the one setting to enable the digital readout.
Great video! On my vehicle (2006 325xi with FRM1 aka FRM) the option to keep the windows rolling up is named just TUERAUF_STOP_MAUT (not FH_TUERAUF_STOP_MAUT_3R) , so it looks like the naming was changed slightly between FRM versions.
Are you able to do this all with BimmerCode? I did the adaptive headlight with the same tool u have and a pc but what Im wondering is am I able to get the adaptive lights back on without error on gage? I want to replace the day time running lights with the adaptive halo lights and I noticed you can do that with bimmercode. I just don't want the error to be displayed if I do this

A popular re code in Wisconsin is to 'euro-tune' and remove the cats for a few extra HP. Have you every tried this mod? or do you guys have to pass emissions?

Hey Chris, I have a question regarding my E90. I'm trying to make this car as reliable as possible. I have changed: the coolant flange with a metal one, the radiator, the upper radiator hose, the water pump and thermostat and oil filter gaskets. Anything else I should change in your opinion? Thank you,
That sounds like all the common stuff! There's tons of stuff you could do preventatively, but I'd recommend starting on the stuff that looks oldest/original. Low pressure fuel pump failures are common, oil pan gasket, and engine sensors will fail all the time too! But to save your wallet, try to just address things one at a time lol :)
because after some time, just short time after you though you won´t need it, your adaptive headlights will stop working properly due to some micro corrosion or other unidentified failure. And you will realize that benefits are not worth of money and time to fix it.
Steps to reset steering warning (this often shows up after disconnecting the battery). 1. Start the car (engine on). 2. Turn the wheel all the way left, then all the way right. 3. Thanks BMW, your steering error is gone. Doing this procedure calibrates something and makes this error go away in most cases. If it doesn't go away after doing this there could be an actual hardware issue.
My adaptive headlight was out completely on my E92 coupe. I fixed the light, but only the halo, and parking light light up, the lights themselves still will not turn on. If I plug it into the other plug, the light works fine. Will coding out my FRM make the light work again?
@@TheBimmerBarn I know where there is 4 e39 in a salvage yard out in Dallas.... One of the cars got a set of sport seat in black that im getting in a few weeks.... Where I got my lights from
That's right, but I'm a little old school and this method is basically free if you already have the cable, and you don't have to pay for a subscription! The Carly adapter is great though, maybe next time you can lend me yours :)
Carly is really expensive for what it is; It doesn't do more than a windows computer + K/DCAN cable. The main (and arguably only) benefit is that it requires less setup and research. It is a fancy UI for people who are not computer savvy and will pay their way out of it.
@@TheBimmerBarn okay you can investigate codes you can turn codes off you can adjust certain trim items but recalibrating software issues like for instance brake calipers that are worn they can be recalibrated by software properly to bring them down to a hard pedal stuff like that That's what I'm talking about
