I bought my first classic jumbo in caviar black with silver hardware - I paid $6200 with tax, but I thought if I procrastinate it'll eventually hit $10000! I'm extremely excited and happy with my purchase so much so that I had to walk out of the boutique with the bag on my shoulder!!!
This review was very informative, and I love how you do this as a 5 year update to truly show how it holds over the years. I have the Chanel perfect edge flap bag in calf leather which is more fragile and I don't wear It as often as I'd like (only on weekends and not in harsh environments obviously). I'm not a huge fan of the m/l as I find the size a bit small and for the price, I think the mini (which isn't that much smaller) is better value for money. I would personally go for the Boy :)

What would chanel do about it. It is likely that you will get it reparied. I also have the smaller one, and mine is ten years old. It has a crease forming in the side gusset, which I am planning on showing them, the next time I am in London.

My preference would always be the jumbo - I find the medium can't fit very much and is way too expensive for what it is (although I guess the same could be said of all Chanel bags haha). Lots of people love the medium but for me, it's all about the jumbo :)

+Saerllo Lolo From what I can remember, there wasn't a huge amount of difference in size but then it was 5 years ago, so don't quote me on that! If a maxi suits you better, I would 100% get that. My tastes change fairly frequently so your daughter may end up preferring the maxi too! Plus Chanel flaps seem to hold their value amazingly well so it's a fairly safe risk :)

Hi Amie.... am planning to buy this bag (lambskin medium) by Xmas (finger crossed). I cant justify the price £3480 but I cant stop lusting about it. You didn't mention about the hardware holding up. I saw so many pictures where the gold colour turns silver so that scares me for the price. I was thinking of getting bags before 2009 where the hardware is 24k gold. Most jumbos are made in Italy whereas medium/large sizes are made in France. Have both and SA told me that. Don't know why but there is no difference really. Hope it helps..:-)

Trace Trace it’s true. That’s why Amie has a shinier bag, and hers is in better quality and condition than today’s or recent Classic Flap bags

What do you do with this bag when you are in a restaurant? Do you always just put it on the floor?
hi amie glad to watch your review it was great as ever. i am considering purchasing the jumbo or the maxi. maxi suits my needs better but i want to be able to hand it down to my young daughter so feel i should get the jumbo. do you know if there is a lot more you can fit into the maxi or just a little more as this will decide for me. the SAs in the only store in my country are not good at providing support. thanks
+Saerllo Lolo From what I can remember, there wasn't a huge amount of difference in size but then it was 5 years ago, so don't quote me on that! If a maxi suits you better, I would 100% get that. My tastes change fairly frequently so your daughter may end up preferring the maxi too! Plus Chanel flaps seem to hold their value amazingly well so it's a fairly safe risk :)

Hi Amie, I was wondering if you've ever considered a Dior bag? I really love the Diorever (regular or large) but 1) I can't find out what the price is and I just want to know beforehand, and 2) I can't find that much reviews on them. I wanted to venture out of my Celine-LV safe space but I'm not sure. Do you know anything on the quality of the bags? Thank you!

Hi Amie.... am planning to buy this bag (lambskin medium) by Xmas (finger crossed). I cant justify the price £3480 but I cant stop lusting about it. You didn't mention about the hardware holding up. I saw so many pictures where the gold colour turns silver so that scares me for the price. I was thinking of getting bags before 2009 where the hardware is 24k gold. The down side of this is how great is the condition of the bag as am an OCD. So am torn between the new version or old version and would love to hear your feedback??? Thanks in advance
I honestly haven't noticed any issues with the hardware at all! Mine is still perfect so I never even thought to mention it!

Could you please make a video about how others react to your bags when you go out and daily life. I have a issue with homeless people when I'm wearing my SpeedyB. I do try to give as much money as I can but to get my wallet out is a faff.

+jen han Honestly I have no idea. This was the first time I saw it! The other corners didn't really have any wear so it was just that one. I assume from just sitting up and occasionally rubbing against things!? It's not really visible when looking at it normally which is how it escaped my notice for so long!

Love the video, Amie! What a wonderful celebration of 5 years with your gorgeous bag :). Just curious: is it stamped "Made In Italy"? I know people get in a tizzy over whether their bags are made in Italy or France, and I always wonder about the difference. Xx
Most jumbos are made in Italy whereas medium/large sizes are made in France. Have both and SA told me that. Don't know why but there is no difference really. Hope it helps..:-)

+bellatee14 My jumbo is made in Italy. I have a mix of bags made in France and Italy - I can never tell the difference though! Both exactly the same quality as far as I can see.
