  • Harvesting the 2024 winter wheat crop near Harper, Kansas with a 1976 Allis-Chalmers Gleaner F Combine with 18 foot header.
The wheat crop was a bit below average, but not the worst. We will try again next year.
    I hope you enjoy.

Cool to see these Gleaners still in service! I was a kid in the 80s and my grandpa and uncle had one of these, and a 7020. Spent lots of hours in both of them.

Started out with a Gleaner G, brought back some good memories, less stress and expenses keeping that ol girl in the field that how things are now! I think I spent less the whole time I ran that thing than I do yearly now. They can sure clean that wheat can't they!

Back in the early 2000’s I was on the harvest run and we used to cut around Harper and Norwich area…it was like a step back in time in some ways seeing all the older machines and trucks….i really enjoyed that area….great people!! But always muddy lol….it was like the harvest crews are here so let’s just rain 10 inches lol!

That old gleaner seems to do a good job cleaning . I always wanted a diesel F when I first started out, but in this part of north east Oklahoma there wasn’t any real support as far as parts go. In the 80s they were still commanding a pretty high price. Nice work and video!

Let's be honest. There wasn't a lot of parts support for Gleaner ever...anywhere

@@jimbaker7133 lol. I didn’t know that. A local farmer here had I think a f2 and a M2 in the eighties but traded them off for a 1660 iH. It was mostly international, Deere and a couple Masseys where I live back then. Most of farmers have since retired , passed or switched to cattle. I myself had an international combines, but I hung up grain farming in 2003 and switched to cattle and hay.

I like music but the sounds of the machine would’ve been better

I agree! Talk about the machine, the wheat crop the experiences with the combine. Strengths and weakness of the machine etc. Just saying!

I will see what I can do next year. I think I have some other videos from prior years with more sounds of the machine...
