    What do you think of JEPI, and covered call ETFs in general? Let me know in the comments below! 👇

      @fenders53 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About the only CC fund I would recommend. Key differences are the JEPI fund managers freedom to sell OUT of the money covered calls. Others are confined by their prospectus to sell AT the money. That about guarantees the fund will miss practically all index upside. After the index just had a -10% month, that's not a good strategy and it shows in total returns.

    • @rynewilliams
      @rynewilliams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True that...there is definitely a clear difference between JEPI's total returns compared to the other CC ETFs out there, which seems to be a result of their overall strategy.

    I hold JEPI in both retirement accounts and have done so for the past year and a half. The
    monthly dividends for the last year have fulfilled my RMDs. What I have noticed is that when the stock price goes down they increase the yield %. I have a regular stock portfolio through JPM and have been trading individual stocks like Kroger, Eni, and Ford. And I’m slowly growing my etf sector with VYM and maybe VYMI but they all pay quarterly which isn’t bad but is slow with a DRIP unless you have tons invested in each one. Why I’m loving JEPI is it pays monthly which is great with a DRIP and it’s not insanely costly like VYM so I see myself buying a couple shares of it weekly till I hit maybe 40 shares and let it run for awhile on its own

  • @clifford629
    @clifford629 ปีที่แล้ว

    Some of those historic graphs on performance have JEPI starting at a higher point than their peers.
    The 3 year chart gives JEPI an advantage b/c the others started down (recovering from) from the March 2020 crash. YTD is a fair comparison b/c they all start at 0 at the same time. The 5 year starts the race QYLD > JEPI > XYLD at common inception; with JEPI significantly outperforming in 2021 and 2022.

    • @rynewilliams

      I really like the company HBI, and the yield is very high with a nice valuation, but they may have some issues in the financials. The amount of debt they have compared to their FCF may be problematic, which is why we haven't seen the dividend grow for some time

      @Ryne Williams What factor would hold you back from making Jepi your number one choice? Would you put your 10K in another monthly paying etf if income was your objective?

      Actually, I guess it depends on a number of factors. If $10,000 is a relatively small portion of your overall portfolio, then it wouldn’t be so bad to put it in JEPI. If $10,000 is a lot for you, then I wouldn’t first turn to JEPI. I would much sooner choose something like SCHD.
      Then again, your goal is immediate monthly income, so maybe JEPI wouldn’t be a bad option. I don’t know haha, I really can’t definitively say what the best move is here

      Your absolutely right but risk offers buying opportunities and rewards as well

    At age 56 with a retirement goal in approximately 9 years from now I still would not invest in CC ETF's. I still like "growth" for capital appreciation and dividend growth. I would prefer to trade my own options on my own holdings than an ETF. I want to see a longer track record with CC ETF's as well. My opinion alone but someone in your age bracket with time I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend these at all.

    Income from this fund is taxed at the NON- qualified rate. Its regular income, not capital gains. This hurts actual returns which never gets addressed with his fund.

      So then hold it in a Roth IRA, problem solved
