The First Curse bears a striking resemblance to the Last Word.
They also seem to be polar opposites of each other as far as their strengths and weaknesses go.
The description on Last Word is, "Mine, not yours."
The description on First Curse is, "...is when death becomes an afterthought."

People shout curse words when they die on Destiny... Which is when death becomes an afterthought.
The curse words they shout are their "last words." ...At least until they respawn.

This thing should actually have something exotic about it
Exotic perk: slows the enemy after 2 body shots
+Frosty That is an amazing idea even more than you probably realized. You know how the 3 other class specific exotic weapons from the Gunsmith have 2 generic perks followed by a third exotic perk that is very similar to other normal perks but with something that sets it above slightly. For this gun, as a representation of the "best" and final gun he will make, he would have three unique exotic perks. Bungie could take out triple tap and put that perk in, and the whole weapon would be drastically improved. I think that would be amazing.

Increased precision damage while ADS the farther the enemy is. Accuracy, range, and stability increases greatly every time a shot is landed.

Ace of Spades is hands down the best hand cannon in my opinion. Good base stats, firefly and the added bonus of Third Eye and the underrated Maverick perk which gives you good up-time against groups of low-tier enemies.
I just think the perk shouldn't take from the reserves, since it already has low base ammo.

Not that you would care because this is old news by now- But without rewatching, it seems that you didn't mention the fact that "The First Curse" perk reloads the gun automatically on the first precision kill of the magazine. So in PVE, if used right, (which is how I try to use it), you can fire 16+ shots with triple tap, so long as you plan to precisely kill something with the last bullet of the magazine. I thought that was worth mentioning.
This was after an update. The gun didn't have that perk originally. Now its at least usable

A lot of year 2 exotics seem just "meh", some are good but I don't like the amount of them which just feel average such as this one.
they said they didnt want all exotics to have any damage boosts or something amazing but this gun really needs a buff and no time to explain is pretty meh aswell other than that i cant find any others

Looks like a legendary hand cannon. Come on Bungie can you make some of these exotic weapons actually look like exotics? So much effort and creativity. It's basically just like a Last Word except it's grey and black.

+Lewt Shogun-Shien This is the only quest that i can think of that forces you to use a specific gun. Yes the Chaperone quest had you use TLW but you didn't have to use it, just have it equipped.
+Twigg237 Yeah, and if you're smart and have a Titan, go into Mayhem and you can just equip TLW before you respawn and pop the Hammer (when available) and de-quip it once you die again, and re-equip once the Hammer's back. Essentially solo boosting, but much easier.

For the purpose of obtaining the weapon, I'm saying it's a quest. You're doing the same thing. As for the Eidolon Ally, sure. But you have to use the Husk of the Pit first. You have to use a terrible weapon in a tedious scenario until it becomes better.

i remember getting it like the very first week that it was available.. the most annoying part is the fucking Imprecation part of the quest because at the time EVERYONE was running around with it trying to do the killing spree with the gun. it was ridiculous tbh

I think one way to buff it is to add "increased fire rate" to the First Curse bonus. Nothing crazy like TLW. This would allow it to compete in PVP and you could still keep it at 8 shots so it wouldn't be OP. Honestly this was the gun I was most looking forward to because it was another Tex and they are seemingly built for PVP but I am severely underwhelmed. If you think this is a good idea or if other people in the comments have better ideas, you should make a complete video on "How to Fix The First Curse." Bungie actually listens to the big name TH-camrs and Streamers so it could help.

I just got the headshot spree finished in Inferno Rumble, the weekly Crucible mode. Use the lack of radar to sneak up on enemies and shoot them in the head. Still takes more than one shot to do it, though! Also, the score just shows 100 points for each kill, not the bonus for headshots, so make sure the quest is tracked so you can keep checking on your progress.

I would love to see it changed to every 3rd precision hit in a row does double damage. It would be an interesting replacement to triple tap that would be and feel very rewarding. I don't think it would be enough of a buff for it to be considered OP while still really solidifying it's spot in your arsenal.
+Meta It just needs a increase in mag size that would make a already great hand cannon even better. I think people just don't understand when you combine the default perk and the First Curse Perk you can cross map people with it.
Joshua McClellan I agree that would make it better but it still wouldn't *feel* rewarding to play.
That would be really scary in pvp, maybe balance your suggestion of steadily increasing precision damage to the point where if every shot was a headshot, the last two bullets in the magazine could drop someone with full health. Make it a six-shooter with triple-tap, and enough bonus damage from precision hits so you could line up a triple kill, if your marksmanship was spot on.

When the first curst perk activates it should also add the crowd control buff so then after one kill you could actually 2hko somone legitimatly. PVE the precision shot adds bonus damge to the next precision and so on would be awesome for bosses

I absolutely love this gun for Trials with Arc-Hunter + Skill Tree Quick Draw Perk paired with Havoc Pign. At High enough light this thing will does 100 Crit on low light or armor builds.

I think that this gun is pretty decent in PvP. The first game I used it I got a 14 killstreak off the bat (against some pretty meh players). I think the advantage of this archetype over something like hawkmoon is that it is a kill if you hit two bodyshots and a headshot. It works well with throwing knifes too. Having quickdraw is also great for sniping; you can hit a bodyshot then almost instantly fire off a round with TFC to finish them off. The two main problems that I found were:
1) It's range is bad, which makes hitting shots, even from mid range really inconsistent, not sure why but so many times I'd fire shots off, almost certain that I'm aiming directly at them, only to not have the shot register.
2) The exotic perk is basically never noticed in PvP. With the mag size already kinda small, combined with the fact that it has a tendency to not have great shot registration, you'll probably not want to engage someone without a full mag, as due to the reload being so slow, running out of shots mid fight is a complete death sentence.
Here are my solutions:
Increase the range, pretty drastically. I feel that if this gun has any chance of competing with hawkmoon it should at very least out range it. I think it needs almost a 100% increase to range. Overall, I'd like it to feel similar (maybe slightly worse) to how the Red Hand IX felt pre 2.0 patch in terms of range and shot registration. (Keep in mind that it fires slowing than the red hand, and it is supposed to be an exotic, red hand was only a legendary).
The exotic perk needs some reworking. Either make it so that the buff lasts for 10-15 seconds after a precision kill instead of only lasting for the rest of the mag, or completely change it to increased precision damage for the rest of the mag after a precision kill (20% increase). This means that it would be a 2 shot headshot for the remainder of the magazine after you get a precision kill, but won't be a 2 shot if one shot hits the body.
If the gun permanently was a 2 shot kill, it would be overpowered, but making it so that only the few bullets left in the mag will be able to 2 shot is fair, and in my opinion completely necessary if this gun is to be considered a viable choice in competitive PvP (Like trials or sweaties).

When I first got this I was like " WTF IS THIS IMPACT?" Then I compare it to my Timur's Lash, Bruh.
I actually did my killing spree on the Dark Beyond mission where they run out all at once. Stood at the front and got it first try. I got to say though, that 7 headshots was a pain in the ass. I did mine on control. It made it a little easier because I knew where they were going to be and knocked it out fairly fast
like 70% of the year 2 exotic weapons are complete garbage.

What Datto said to change the perk for The First Curse sounded very similar for a auto rifle concept I thought of
Imagine this coming back on D2 and the First Curse perk increasing range up to 40 metres. I wanna see this back, I used this gun everyday since it came out on D1
one great thing about this gun for PvP is its "teamshot" potential. a lot of times during the Trials my group and I would almost always teamshot with snipers or the like and it was pretty much how we got to Lighthouse consistently. I was running the Elimination Playlist with the same group of guys and it was just win after win after win just communicating, opening up the first fight with a good teamshot, one person with the Curse and the other two with their preferred weapon so the weapon has a very good niche. aside from that purpose I wouldn't use this at all for PvE or standard Crucible

It should create a curse mark on the target when precision damage procs which will increase the fire rate of your next shot but it can stack up till five.

How to do the hand cannon spree one. Go into the dark blade strike. Right before you face the boss there's the huge line of thrall. Just use the hand cannon there.

I love this gun. I play Strikes and Patrol more than anything so it's a fantastic Hand Cannon for me.

Just decrease the RoF on the thing by about 3 frames and make it a 2 tap. Easy.
I really think they should make it that when the "First Curse" perk procs, it should also give the rest of the rounds in the magazine a bonus to Impact OR make the remaining rounds "luck in the chamber" rounds (on top of the range and stability boost). Because it has such a low RoF and magazine size, I feel it should 2 shot headshot in PvP when you have the First Curse buff active. This would also make it much more viable in PvE content for sure.

Heres a fun change to the gun maybe give a a new perk
The last curse : After 2 quick precision kills your last shot becomes a golden gun shot.
Hard to pull off in pvp but has a big dps increase in pve shoot 2 thralls then gold gun a major.
hawk moon has 11 shots now
when you upgraded it the magazine increases to 13
The range on it seems really impressive for a hand cannon. I'd have to use it in PvP to compare it to Hawkmoon, but for PvE I'd go with Hawkmoon if I had to pick an exotic Hand Cannon for PvE.
To be honest the only reason I want this gun is to finish off my primary exotic collection.
For 200 kills, I suggest you guys doing the dark beyond mission; first when you get to the part where the doors open kill all the thralls (and the acolytes if you want to) but don't kill the knight or else it will make you kill the wizard, so after you kill the thralls let the other enemies kill you then keep repeating the process and you will be done in probably less then an hour if you kill the acolytes.

the trick to the high impact HCs is that stability has almost no effect on them whatsoever due to their low rate of fire, so focus on range and reload speed overall (no really you can travel to all the missions and back and they'd STILL be reloading) now just snag those head shots n ur good to go! it takes a pretty precise hand to use them so if u ain't up to it, just stick to your average hawkmoons and eyaslunas
I think adding a percision damage bonus to the first curse perk, to the point of with the buff active being a 2 headshot kill in crucible, then it would see use and maybe even really good

I noticed that the buff to handcannon xp from a class item is recognized as an active telemetry, so it's easier to wear such a class item instead of buying telemetries.

If they made it so on top of its range and stability bonus it had so chaining precision shots within a short time boosts your precision damage would go well with its quest line for having to mostly get precision kills with handcannons therefore kinda preparing you to be precise once you get it

The best way to Buff this gun is to give the gun a 3 in one perk. Have tripple tap, Maverick and feeding frenzy all in the same perk slot where tripple tap is and then it will feel exotic. Also maybe slightly buffing the rate of fire by like 5% will help drastically.
Pulse rifles > Scout rifles > hand cannons > auto rifles

I personally find auto rifles and shoot rifles work in equal effectiveness to eachother at their optimal ranges, but to each to his own.

To complete the pve spree: get a night stalker hunter and go to the dark beyond mission. Make sure you are using blood bound. Tether the ground when you ghost says we have woken the hive. Wait until there are enemies in the tether then kill one and they will all explode if they are close enough.
