Its far from dying, it's just not in it's release hype anymore, but there's still hundreds of thousands of players playing and recurring updates which cross out any arguements for the game dying
The game was never dying, it remained highly popular even without new updates. You just get the illusion of something dying when you look at a graph because, oh no look how much its dropped! When in actuality its not dying, the hype has settled into its casual fanbase instead of the excitement of new release where everyone is playing it at once.
Because people simply play far enough to the point they feel satisfied with where they are and move on to the next game and occasionally shows back up every so often. That’s just what happens with multiplayer games. It’s not “dying” it’s just some people that were exactly like me with black ops 3 stopped playing as often because they were satisfied with their progress and time played and want to play something else.
I want them to bring back more splatoon two stuff, but I’m sure that’s going to happen with side order and some of the leaks that have been going around. I’m not spoiled yet.
This game is flat out not fun to play. The matchmaking is horrible, the p2p makes it very annoying. The catalog is becoming far more lazy. It just lacks the fun previous games had. (Not counting the ending days of splatoon 2 of course with all the spam) but you get what I mean. Overtime it just feels meh. Salmon run needs to give us more gold scales feels way too grindy with little, No new game modes, horrible ltm times. Some kits are just questionable, most the maps suck(the recent ones are good ). Eventually these issues are going to get more agitating to deal with for many the more it continues. Not to mention the "we didn't playtest" special that hurts people (myself included im disabled too) that is splattercolor smokescreen. Which the devs are too high to even bother toning down a bit. The game is eventually going to die to a good portion of people if things progress more backwards than forward.

Making the argument that Splatoon 3 is “dying” has to be the most brainrot thing I’ve ever heard. No offense, but just because searches on google have gone down doesn’t mean a game is dead (or dying for that matter) Splatoon 3 still has a VERY lively community, still active and thriving. Not only that, but the game continues to get updates, if the game is dying, why would it still be getting updates?
Yes, what you said is true. While the graph alone is not proof, I think it serves as evidence. In the video, I mentioned that Splatoon is dying, not that it’s dead. While yes, I understand that the community is still very active, it has experienced a dropoff in players since the release.
