Oh Lord have Mercy! Bang a gong! To get him to do more with this group would be beyond Heavenly. Can someone who actually knows him GET THROUGH to him? This is so much better than that scheiss back-up band, on solo tours. Sorry, but they are so shabby compared to the amazing Moodies. Must be very difficult without a decent producer, to get things done. We live in such a different world now. Expenses and costs outweigh Quality and Beauty. I clasp my pearls.
Justin has this uncanny ability to draw you into his music. It's like you can't escape and you don't want to because there is no artist like him or The Moody Blues. They're unique and they're inviting. They reel you in with harmonious sounds and then imprison you in their lyrics. This is just another brilliant reinvention of a classic turned into another classic.
This version of “Story” leaves me breathless! I don’t know how Justin keeps topping himself but he does! I saw him twice in concert this week, Sunday in RI and Wed. in Rockport Ma. Story in Your Eyes is one of his two encore songs (the other being IKYOTS) and at age 74 Justin sang it beautifully!! It gave me shivers and brought tears to my eyes! I hope he continues touring for years to come! 💙💙
The coolest music teacher ever. Teaching the youth what it is. I wish it were so. The world would be a better place. At least these kids got that experience.
That was fantastic... Justin Hayward is genius. The Moody Blues recording of this song from Every Good Boy Deserves favour was a favorite song for me from the first time I heard it when I was 8 years old. This new rendition holds true to the spirit of the original recording. I really enjoyed this very much.
A few years later, Andy Speake (the drummer in our group - sadly now passed) was playing with his group "The Amorous Prawns" on stage with Thunderclap who were not having a very good time after this record. Anyway - Andy bought the drums on this record (which turned out to have from the Who - made for Woodstock in 1969) for £100. He used them for years then Premier drums bought them (for their hall of fame) for £10,000 (a fortune in the 1980s). Anyway - now you know. Not quite sure why I put up this little snippet - just a small factoid. Love this record
Nothing beats nights --the very charm of it--and his mea nings -- written for his wife of forever -- it gives you insight into him as well as the rest of the members --so inclusive of John Lodge as well --i believe the two main writers of the Moodies songs
This is magnificent. Even at this late date, I hope Justin would get together with these incredibly talented musicians and put out an album of his solo songs and Moodies' greats with them. Bravo!
What a true gift for us all!! Justin has the most beautiful voice, soft and lovely..🌹🌹🌹🌹..... What a true 🎨🎨 artist!!!!! Love his singing!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀. .2022...
Thanks for supporting my music ❤️I'm so grateful and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that's ok by you.
This is absolutely splendid. Just very uplifting rendition of a true, classic. I also noticed (after listening several times!) that the young man with the trumpet and trombone disappears from the scene as the video ends. He’s just not there anymore. Trying to figure out what the meeting of that is trying to convey!
I love YT for stuff like this. New arrangement, young energy, and Justin's voice that just doesn't seem to change...all these years later. Doubt if any of these ladies had ever heard of The Moody Blues before this.
Such a fun video with a step in the past and in the present. I love seeing and hearing Justin sing and play this beautiful song. The other musicians add more pleasure to the whole performance.
Justin is incredible always has been always will be. I loved this! But I have to admit, if he made an album of throwing bricks through windows and nails scratching a chalkboard... yes I'd LOVE THAT TOO.
Seems like Justin is re-inventing himself and freshening up his music- hopefully for a new audience as well as the older one. Quite an achievement for someone in their very late 60's.
He got old. This is the bloke I wanted to be when I was younger. Give me 45 years of brilliant music. Keep on rocking Justin, and the rest of the boys.
I love the edit at 2:05, the man continues his practice of making all he touches beautiful, the silver pipe of the guardrail becoming the flute. We all play our music in what we do, no matter how seemingly mundane. Your day is the song you write. Make it your best!
A nice way to begin the day listening to a fine arrangement of this beautiful song. Nice guitar, too! By the way, Justin Hayward's solo show is fabulous!!
Thanks Justin. I have been listening to the Moody Blues since Days of Future Past. I’ve lost count of how many times I saw you in concert (10-12?) . I absolutely love what you are doing now on TH-cam. I look forward to every song you put up. It REALLY helps during this pandemic. Thank you so much.
Thanks for supporting my music ❤️I'm so grateful and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that's ok by you.
Dang justin i just love what your dooing now playing with all these cool musicians. It must be so hard with all the memories with the moodys as we are all entering in that twilight time. I play and write from ear but I wish i hadn't dismissed more theory and instruction over the many years .I think you were always my influence and mentor. Your personal touch on these video series is so down home and the love seen with these accomplished players getting to play with you is sooo awesome. Iam not much for playing in bars as i have aged but i play allot of your songs at home . Something i must do for my sanity.
If Justin has put out a whole album reinventing his original songs, I'm in. This is excellent work.
I want this music for my 4tet.
He should do, and soon. We all need cheering up.
I'm in, too❤
I’m in as well!
Oh Lord have Mercy!
Bang a gong!

I clasp my pearls.
This was the first band that I recall writing stories into their songs.... and you could understand all of the words.

Justin Hayward is still amazing.
He hasn't lost his voice, unlike several of his contemporaries ( who shall remain unnamed out of respect )
The coolest music teacher ever. Teaching the youth what it is. I wish it were so. The world would be a better place. At least these kids got that experience.
In any version, mix, or orchestration, this is still in my top 3 favorite Justin tunes.
God I wish there was an hour of this.
The gardener on the tambourine….outstanding
One of the best versions of this.
Justin is about the coolest person ever.
Who doesn’t know every word? ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much ☺️;
I don’t but I love it anyway. The simple arrangement is great , but the same some with the Clasical Quartet is fabulous for being totally different.
So beautiful. My heart just melted from the beauty. You know a song is outstanding when it can stand up to any kind of arrangement and be this good.
He's gotta be pushing 80 ... WTH??? He's still got it. I guess music keeps you young.
Born 14 October 1946, which makes him 77 this October. Probably close to 70 when this was shot. He was really young when the band got its start.
I just saw him with his band in July 2024, Washington D.C. 😎 Fantastic show! Sounded as great as ever! He, like his music is ageless🎸🎶
Well done! Good to see you have not retired!

Gorgeous! Imagine this on tour? I will settle for this beautiful video for now instead. How have I missed seeing this until now?
Same here - just found it in June 2024, and it blew me away.
That’s what I was also thinking. Love the instrumentation

Unbelievably good. Always been a Justin fan... and it's never waiverd.

Justin's voice... timeless. I love this rendition.
I'm still smiling - this is the sprightliest version of one of my favorite songs I've ever heard. Well done!
I could listen to that voice all day. The sexiest voice in rock and roll. He still sounds magnificent.
I particularly enjoyed that clear, sharp flute but it is all fantastic!
Thanks for supporting my music ❤️I'm so grateful and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honor you by giving you my personal information if that's ok by you.
@@justinhayward5136scammer!
As always Sharon 😊

This is by far the best arrangement of this track I have ever heard. OUTSTANDING!
I love YT for stuff like this. New arrangement, young energy, and Justin's voice that just doesn't seem to change...all these years later. Doubt if any of these ladies had ever heard of The Moody Blues before this.

So very beautiful. You and the Moody Blues are like a fine wine. The older you are, the better.
Great band and at the same time both melodious and with a well timed tension.
Justin, this was a joy to watch. Much love to you! 💕
That was wonderful, a tad humorous and I absolutely loved it!❤❤❤❤❤
This rivals the original, beautiful alternative. Every positive adjective I can think of it deserves.
Justin has such a beautiful heart
I'm breathless, too!❤

Gordon Harrison He's a genius, quite simply!
Gordon Harrison He is actually 72 this year! Hard to believe..I was born on his 8th birthday. So cool to share a birthday with someone this famous!
Genius is as genius does.
Beautiful "cover" of one of my favorite Moody Blues' songs.
Love the quartet!
He got old. This is the bloke I wanted to be when I was younger. Give me 45 years of brilliant music. Keep on rocking Justin, and the rest of the boys.

Everything about this is perfect. Justin just gets better and better, and he was brilliant in the 1970s.
So grateful for hearing Moody Blues since child

The new moodies. Thanks Justin. A new touch to a great tune
Fantastic. His voice is a little softer but once in a while you hear the voice of 1969.
Love is the answer. ❤️
True, Thank you 😊 ❤
Excellent. I could hear that over and over.
Wow. He can still carry a tune!
Oh my dear God, that was fantastic!!!! Did they do any more together??? Please!!!

'Time waits for no one'. Nope, not even you Justin. You got old, like the rest of us. Thank you for a lifetime of beautiful music.
