the thing is, that there have been several iterations of the stick figures. the plot of the original from way back in the day was that the animator accidentally made a sentient stick figure named "victim". he is deleted at the end of the first animation. in the following 2nd one, alan creates a new stick figure, "the chosen one", a black outlined super powered fighter, and after a long fight, is imprisoned with a ball and chain on his ankle. in the 3rd he breaks free and the animator creates "the dark lord", a red stick figure that fights the chosen one, until they team up and blue screen alan's monitor with an implosion. This was the end of the 1st era.
in the 4th, we see alan the animator has improved, and is now in the middle of creating the orange stick figure when he's called by a friend and leaves the pc. the orange one has at this point just gained sentience and sneaks around the different pages alan has open and discovers a window with a completed stick fighting animation playing on it. this is where orange meets red, blue, green and yellow, and befriends them. Alan comes back seeing the stick figures having a wail of a time wrecking his pc, so he deletes the stick figures one by one (by ending them in the task manager) until he sees the despair in orange and realises that this is a creature with emotions and intelligence. after trapping the orange one and realising that communication is possible, alan brings back the cast and befriends them and they help each other animate better.
then come two filler episodes where the colour cast play around and fight with minecraft and youtube.
then starts animator vs animation 5 (which is actually a collection of 4 shourts edited together) where the colour cast and alan fight a virus. They do not manage to beat it until the chosen one arrived through a portal.
It turns out that after the events of 3, the chosen one and the dark lord escaped alans pc and went on to rampage through the internet while fighting things. at this point it is revealed that the dark lord created the virus and the chosen one disagreed. while fighting, the dark lord shot one of the viruses at alans pc and the chosen one followed it to kill the virus. after killing the virus on alans pc the chosen one returns to the internet (the grasslands with the lake where the chase scene takes place) and fights the dark lord, unaware that the colour cast followed the chosen one. The chosen one is winning until the dark lord puts on a dark bracelet. at this point, the colour cast use the dark lord's computer to beg alan for help, and use it to manifest the mouse/animator in the grasslands where they are fighting. the dark lord wins and kills the colour cast one by one until the orange one almost dies, enters a trance where he uses the same level of power as the chosen one and the dark lord have. the orange one then goes and uses his powers to recreate the colours until he passes out, and the colours head back to alans pc.
this is where part 6 episode 1 comes in. Seemingly, the grey figure could be victim, the first stick figure, hence why he would have a grudge against alan and his other animations, but the team of figures that hunted down and captured orange and the chosen one are all new creations that have never before been seen in the animations. and the reason the chosen one comes to orange for help is because the chosen one saw orange use super powers when he defeated the dark lord, so he thinks he can help, not knowing that the orange cant activate those powers at will. orange being good at animation and drawing, uses that as his main weapon and they fight the pursuers, but get captured.

to call the entire AvM series filler is a hot take but ig it isnt part of AvA so you aren't wrong, unless they use some mc stuff or smthing, considering that AvA 6 had a teaser in one of the AvM shorts containing purple, a main player in AvM i think that purple and or king might make a appearance in this AvA or some mc stuff will be here in which case AvM (which has a shit ton of lore mind you) will become canon to AvA and thus even more shenanigans and epic fights with lore n stuff will happen. (AvA = animation vs animator, AvM = animation vs minecraft)

Seriously the animation vs animator series puts tons of anime to shame. Alan has some incredibly powerful plots and heartwarming, and heart wrenching, storytelling. Scott Buckley does the score, and it’s BREATHTAKING. The animation team are flawless. The fights are imaginative, the integration of computer elements like icons, files, code, games, on and on- mixed with a real-life vibe?
Most inspired series I’ve ever watched, and I’m an anime fan. This series is perfection.
Alan Becker's Animation vs Animator series may just be a bunch of stick figures fighting each other, but there's mad lore to it, as well as in depth characters:
The greyish stick figure at the end was *The Victim,* from the very first Animation vs Animator, who was deleted at the end of the video.
The black stick figure with the super powers is *The Chosen One,* who has many powerful abilities, and escaped the PC with a former friend who was also created by Alan.
In a flashback was a red stick figure with a circle head, his name was *The Dark Lord,* created by Alan to subdue The Chosen One, but instead became friends and escaped the PC and wreaked havoc on the internet. He was killed by our orange stick figure, because he couldn't escape his role of being the evil Dark Lord.
Our protagonist, the orange circle head stick figure is named *The Second Coming.* He was became sentient of his free will, and fought Alan, but soon became his friend, because of his artistic creativity. The Second Coming has powers like The Chosen One, are more powerful, but they lie dormant, and he cannot use them voluntarily. He is very naive and kind, so he's kind of like an orange Midoriya.
The four color-coded stick figures are The Second Coming's friends, who come from sticksfight.com, who are all very close. They are similar in personality, but each have traits that make them stand out from one another.
*Red* is very gung ho and strong, and sometimes rushes in without thinking, which gets him into a lot of trouble.
*Blue* is kind of a leader, he tells the others what to do, and is a mediator, and will often stop any arguments.
*Yellow* is the intellectual of the group, he's very handy with computer commands, and is very helpful in a pinch.
*Green* is the most creative of the bunch, in art and music, and he helps bring the others together to have fun.
There is a lot of lore, so it would be worth it to watch it all!

I hope Nux now realizes Animator vs Animation is the best anime of our generation and he is now obligated to watch all the previous episodes and possibly the entire Animation vs Minecraft series because it is essential to the lore of the main cast's friendship. Also, the later seasons of AvM are genuinely on the same level of AWESOME as this.
ps the AvM series finale actually made me cry irl. Not kidding. The complete lack of dialogue legitimately enhances it more than you would believe.

For the people curious about the agency Squad:
Pixelated stickman: is a character that comes from a really old animation called Stickman vs door (which is not originated from Alan). Its artstyle and animation is of course based on a pixelated stick figure with retro sounds.
Bathroom sign: its not a reference to any specific animation video as far as i'm aware, its artstyle and animation are more stiff and based on different sign postures, look at it as mr. game and watch (though Nux already mentioned it but shh)
Brown stickman: its artstyle its based of a brush type style and it seems to represent a more trivial and old Fashion type of stickman (represented by the use of bow instead of the gun, though he probably just liked the bow more idk), also like bathroom sign, idk if it has a specific animation video round there or not.
Stickman with sunglasses: although the most similar to the style of the main characters, the animation of him its more based around those flash games of stickman sniper, which could also mean that its a reference to that type of games, that or Alan just wanted to make a random stickman with cool sunglasses.

Stickman with sunglasses are an archetype of PC in sniper games. Vinnie from Sift Heads series is a good example of the archetype.

the names from DJ agent smith (the stickman with sunglasses), poop(the brown stickman), henry stickman (pixelated stick figure) and the last one basic bathroom sign guy
I believe the pixelated stick man is suppose to come from flip note animations from “stick figure pwnage” not sure if this came first then stickman vs door.
There is actually a surprising amount of lore within this guy's animations and it's so good

It’s worth noting that it seems the stick figure with the pause button can do everything Alan’s ‘Mouse/Cursor’ character can, from creating lines and blocks, to rotating objects, and even pausing the animation.
The others seem to be from various other places as SCPs, with the bow figure looking like a caveman drawing most obviously.
The point wasn't that he could have ended the fight early with his time stop ability, the point was that he didn't NEED to use his time stop ability as he was dominating that fight, and probably could have kept dogging the both of them with ease if he wanted to.

@@bearturtle6058 Same here, I feel like allies being able to un-pause eachother would make sense since thats generally how a pause button works, you can play things again by just tapping/clicking the button.

It's worth going back and watching the Animator vs Animation series in order for context. A lot of what's been going on within the series has continuity, so it's worth doing a react to every one. It's not that many btw, like it's yet to hit double digits in episode count.
I recommend watching all the past AVA (Animator Vs. Animation) even maybe AVM (Animation Vs. Minecraft) to know the full context of this one episode.

Who let this man animate stick figures when he could be storyboarding action scenes in AAA movies? No, seriously, this has top-tier level planning of the shots and composition, and tells a complete story without expression, amazing.
Well working for himself he can do anything and everything that he wants his way. Problem with AAA movies is you have other people forcing their input onto what you want to create. It's like when devs want to make a bad ass game but the suits get involved and screw up their whole process, meanwhile demanding quality work on a huge time crunch.
He loves his job, he has said that in the past, he obviously belived that by this point he would have moved past stick figures, but he sticked around because he liked what he was doing.
Also, ALL of his animations are 2D, as he does not know 3D, BUT to animate the start of this episode, he asked another animator youtuber for help, one that specialices in 3D, so the result was amazing

The grey stickman at the end was Victim from the very first Animator vs Animation 16 years ago. You'll notice he's rendered in 16 fps instead of 30 since that was how it was in 2007 when he left Alan's PC after getting around being left unsaved. He's the Brainiac type of villain, not like The Dark Lord who's just flagrant-evil but Victim is subtle-evil, accruing power by taking items or people with power which he himself doesn't innately have, he's the Thinker Villain, he makes a plan and carries it out until he's a powerful threat, kind of like King Orange in Animation vs Minecraft, though it seems Victim's motivations are less emotional and more pure evil motivated by betrayal of his purpose, made a Symbol by Alan and decreed as "Victim" being his identity. He's taking the wrong way to prove Alan wrong, but Alan doesn't even know that Victim still exists, so much of Victim's intentions might just fall flat.
So glad he finally got free from the computer prison

If you want context you're going to have to watch all of the other animator versus animation videos. And I mean every single one, including the originals which are around +10 years old now.
Please tell me you've seen the last five animation versus animator stick fights? The main ones at least there's like a whole universe that this man's created. If you haven't seen at least number five nux You have to go back and watch that. Damn good one too. But not only that you're missing context. The reason why the black stick figure wants the orange one to join them is because in the last episode the orange one was even stronger than the black one. And you see a little glimpse of that in a little flashback while he's trying to get away from those pixelated biker dudes. But the orange stick figure guy can't figure out how to tap into those powers. So that's why he kept on using his laser sight and trying to get the orange guy to do the same

For those who don't know it a series. There are more than 2 seasons that go into it. It starts off with the chosen one have to fight his enemy. The the orange one being the second coming. He unlike the first two made peace with the animation. Got some friends from a stick fight game and been going on adventure. Then they came back. And go turn in caption because there is dialogue and plot

please i am begging you to catch up to the series in chronological order i made a playlist of all the AvA and AvM episodes in the order that makes the most sense for the timeline of events because i couldnt find a playlist like it. i am severely mentally ill about these stick figures and i need more people to understand why its such a good series istg
If you plan on watching more of this type of content. Might i recommend the Imitator Collabs? Their my favorite stick fights ever and habe a pretty interesting character at the forefront. Also there is only two of them, but again both of them are quite amazing

If you want to understand the context the it's best to watch the first of this series, Alan has two series one of them just ended recently and it's called Animation vs Minecraft AVM for short, don't know if they will continue on for that and this one is the original animator vs animation his first ever series, considering if that third open head stick figure at the and is what i think it is, best if you watch his first ever animation vs animator, cause if im correct that guy's name is victim?

I think the other stick figures that Orange and friends faced are supposed to be references to other animations, I know the stick figure with the white head that punched the shark was the Stick figure from the animation where he tries to open the door by destroying it with attacks referencing anime.
As someone who watched every episode if AnimatorVSAnimation and AnimatorVSMinecraft i would recommend watching AvA! You could was AvM if you wanted but it has a whole different story line that might be confusing to you + its a different timeline + it ended already. You should actually watch the new AvA episodes as they come out!

You seem confused at points. Have you seen the previous mainline videos? The story builds. The Chosen One sought out The Second Coming because his powers briefly awoke last video. Go watch any parts you missed. Heck a full rewatch of all parts is worth it in my opinion.

Ok so the orange, black, grey and red stick figures that had no color filled into their heads where all the first ones Alan created. the grey one was the very first one that everyone thought died, the names we call them are
grey: victem
black: the chosen one (tco)
red: ..i forgot but i think it has villain in their name
and orange: the second coming (tsc)
the flash back tco had in the beginning with orange was from the episode before and thought tsc can do it again
the 4 stickmen tsc was with are his friends. green, cyan, yellow and red. i suggest watching tsc's video in the AvA series to know their deal.. and AvM (animation vs minecraft) to see their friendship with each other!

Nux, trust me, you need to watch all of the original animations. You can't just start in the middle with this one. The original animations add background for this one that completely recontextualizes the entire story. Your read on first viewing is so far from what is actually happening.
What you thought was the original animation was the animator and his stick figure friends all having a friendly sparring match.

I don't know if you're joking or serious but the difference is just in the time taken and the sheer lack of details they DON'T have to bother animating here or keep on model when it comes to bodies
