- The final few touches before the car can get out on the road again. F10 M5 gear knob, new exhaust rubbers, interior clean/assembly, and a little bit of MR2 stuff.
The battery I have is a DeadWeight Industries Touge 500

I have a "JDM" sized version, not the Euro one, from which the latter should fit somewhat nicer. The JDM sizes are a bit taller and narrower, as per something like a Chaser/Skyline stock battery size. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Glad to see a new m3 video. Do you have a video or write up some where of when you replaced the shifter? I looked through your old videos and didn’t see one.
No I didn't make a video but it's pretty simple. Here are the parts I got, not sure how it will format on here:

The linkage refurb parts were about £30 all in and the nob was around £130.
I think I only needed 2 of the plastic clips as one of the bearings is an updated part and doesn't use 2 washers as per the original item.

the f10 shifter, never have seen that good to know!! I did the e60 shifter in my e46 good stock short shifter mod it only decreases throw by like 20% but oem part

Dan, did the m3 always eat rear pads before the porsche bbk conversion? as you know bmws don't use brake bias valves etc it's done by the correct matched callipers - was just wondering if the bbk had changed the bias to the rear too much? as i know when you run the full boxster swap on an e36 they lock up the rears first :\ and when you do a 330 bbk on just the front of an e36 it puts loads to the front for example. just a thought. enjoyed the video and the length keep it up mate!
Just air in the system fella had to fill the filter and the lines plus all the injectors in order.. i love this car........
After all that work that’s been done to it it should feel like a new car 👍🏻
Hey Danny love the videos man, got a question about your dc2, did you have any oversteer issues when you first started? I'm starting to race my dc2 and I can't get my back end to behave.. any advice?
EVAP I removed from my Audi and it always affected cold starts. Could be something to do with that?
Apply some gentle heat with the heat gun onto those creases on the back seat but don’t get it too hot that it’ll burn the leather, then leave it a day or so and it should spring back by a fair bit. Won’t be perfect but it will make it look better.

BMW battery's usually have the production date stamped on the negative terminal, for example 1416 would be the 14th week of 2016

i did a set of 1155 pads within 4x10 minute sessions at knockhill in a clio, They were brilliant but wore far too quickly

Hey Danny, just wondering if you have removed the evap kit is there a way for the tank pressure to equalize? As you add fuel is there a route for the air to escape. 🙄

If you're taking bits off for a long period of time. i always just clip/screw fixings in the hole where they came from. cant get lost then and you don't have to store them anywhere

Danny is there any special running requirements for those deadweight batteries i.e are they fit and forget and able to run with modern safety and ICE bits and bobs? Or they specifically for stuff that's getting stripped or is stripped out?
Not at all. They are fitted to plenty of full road cars. Think of it as just a very light battery.

Are the wheels setup fully standard, or spacers are used? Looks stock but somehow more ‘muscular’.

Should've cycled the ignition on and off quite a few times so the fuel fully primed, it was probably that
A squirt of easy start/brake or carb cleaner might've brought it on sooner
Never use easy start on a healthy engine.

Mine started to do exactly this when the fuel pump was on its way out. Eventually the pump totally ate its self and left me scratching my head for a while.

Mr2 is coming along nicely. That por15 is crap I don’t know if you used the metal prep that they also sell but it’s still pretty crap with that as well.
Just pointing out I think those rear subframe rear bush washers are on upside down. I doubt it affects it much but just pointing it out
I didn't use the metal prep mate - I decided cos it was already 3x more than Hammerite equivalent it was getting the same prep as Hammerite - a wire wheel. Was gutted to say the least!
Maybe try a heat gun on the creases on the the back seats, only lightly though

The middle plate is exactly the same as the front one. They are about £50. It may act as a mini Brace :).
POR15 is solid, it shouldn't look like that and shouldn't have been greasy when applying.
Will be a bitch to remove though, if is set properly. Had to grind through some of it to get some welding and its was proper tough.
Yeah I didn't want to refit as it was but as you say it's solid now just looks crap. I did remove it a bit of it and it wasn't fun! Wants a blast or a dip really I was just trying to do it the easy way...

Hi Danny! i have seen that you use castrol super car 10w60. If you want "free" power, (and free 3-7mpg) try some nice sae40 oils like (from good to better): Meguin superleichtlauf/liqui moly synthoil 0/5w40, Millers CFS 5w40 NT+, Ravenol VST, kroon polytech 5w40, Rowe high tech racing 0/5w40, amsoil signature 0w40, Ravenol RCS or the best sae40s: redline high performance 0/5w40. (Yes, with sae40 you can get back 10-15bhp as seen in several dynos while mantaining the HTHS superior to 3.7 and protection that the old castrol 10w60 had back in 2001 when they chose it for the engine that was designed for sae30-40 but at this ages the HTHS were not that high like today´s oils, where the redline hp 5w30 have 3.7hths) Also using sae30-40 oil you avoid replacing bearings every 40-60k miles because it was the oil designed to properly lubricate the bearings, not a feature of the sae60 oil in the S54, S65 and S85 engines. interesting! Never heard this before with anyone. I agree a thinner oil should run better, but I wonder if it will be able to dissipate heat as well.
@@dannyDC2 one friend uses redline 0w40 in his e46 m3 also, with oil temp lowered by 10-15° C in the same situations (twisty roads), is an easy engineering rule: less pressure/friction=less temp

Yeah, the covers have channels for the brace to run down

Mate he needed to.. did you not hear it? Very common to give it throttle when it has no fuel in the system to stop it from stalling out which it definitely tried to do. He deffo didn’t take it past 3-4k rpm

Giving it a little bit of help to get the fuel through is one thing, but in mine and Ondrej's opinion he revved the engine too much from cold, ok ?
