It's nice to see people going old school again. And remembering and embracing the past 😮
The fact he mentioned Pete Rock, i already like this guy!
The fact that he mentioned
PM Dawn and Warren G was
a big deal to me as well...
He won’t let you shop in peace😊 and his prices are not accurately priced.
@@gomerhanger2285 oh really??
There’s lots of bad stuff in the news today this was a refreshing break
I'm tired of CDs always getting dissed. They were an improvement over vinyl in every conceivable way, and its a shame that hipsters have killed them off. It's like people rejecting automobiles in favor of horses and buggies.
🤣😂That's so not true
nah
I love CDs. I'm only buying old vinyls, if there's not a CD release available, just to rip it. I don't like the crackling & popping noises.
I agree
The clarity of CDs is fabulous and their size and durability are very convenient. However - in real time comparison, listening to CDs isn't as "comfortable" and not quite as "lifelike" as vinyl. That said? Only really "practiced listeners" would notice much of anything like that.
For instance, I know people with excellent hearing who certainly don't hear what a "practiced listener" who has hearing problems actually does hear.
What that means is that a "practiced listener" knows exactly what they're listening to, what they're listening for as well as why they're listening to it.
Typically, those who aren't "practiced" don't have those capabilities developed, aren't aware that they don't and will even argue about it because they don't realize the real shortcomings in their qualities of listening.
And, there's a LOT of folks whose concerns are only listening to the beat, while the musical qualities are mere background "texture" that serve only to enhance the beat, but include no sense of note relationships and other musical quality subtleties.
It's the same as the differences between race car drivers who have the capability to appreciate the minute subtleties of a finely tuned race car and those who only know about the gas and brake pedals, steering wheel, doors, automatic transmission, AC, heater and radio.
All that depends on each different individual's personal inclinations and interests.
Where’s @questlove ?
Shoot, can I come and work there? I LOVE music stores and liner notes! lol😅😅
Based on the reviews it makes sense the store is named The Record Collector because it’s his record collection and tolerates people enough to buy stuff to keep it going. 😄I wonder if he will get $5 million?
Scary to see such a great collection in an old building with no fire suppression system. When the Universal/MCA storage buindings burned down in 2008 the world loss 500,000 master tapes There will be no more remasters of Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong and thousands more works of the worlds greatest artists. There were also thousands of photographs and original notes made at the time of the original recordings. It made me sick to read about that.
Life’s tough, get a helmet 👷♂️
$5 Million? 10 bucks a record. Not a bad deal.
Cool
Judging by the reviews of this place he's not a good person
Ooof, yeah. Wow.
He is an awful person. He judges you as soon as you walk in. If you're under 60, he assumes you know nothing about music and points you to "that rock and roll stuff" in the back. The last time I was there, I was looking for a specific opera recording. He was shocked that I knew about opera, especially that recording. He had it but was asking way too much for it.
I’ll take 24-bit 192Khz any day.
He’s not a very liked person in the area 😊
Check out is Google Maps reviews. That store experience is not that good.
Why
@@seismic6435 doesn’t let you shop. You need a list of what you’re looking for. I’d they so t have it you’re given a couple of minutes or “browse” then you’ll be asked to leave. Create divining is not allowed.
A penny on the tone arm.😂.

Is Vinyl as popular as it is for the fact good sound is not as popular?
You know MP3 over lossless etc.
Dont forget to tell folks that the bass from vinyl is fake. A good fake but not the actual bass produced.
