I studied in CSN from K1 to Grade2 in 1985-88. Walking in Magallanes street was exciting because as a kid, the sights and sounds were amazing to me. Some buildings have remained standing but the sidewalks, though getting wider, are still filled with vendors and homeless people. Cebu city should do something by getting rid of those street vendors on the sidewalk, or relocate them somewhere.
It’s also my Alma mater ang USJ-R which was formerly named CSJ-R. “ Adelante”. This is the only school in Cebu known to have a swimming pool at the rooftop of the school. It was run by (OAR) Order of Augustinian Recollects.

Naay mga cityhall workers nga manakop ug mang-ticket sa mga nasakpan ug pataka ug labay, so ang mga vendors ug mga customers maoy dili sige'g hugaw-hugaw diri kundili ang mga manlimos gyud. Ang problema, lisod man ni sila hipuson, di man pwede dakpon kay maka-gawas/pagawson ra man pud 😢
there should be a proper law to impose... about proper waste disposal ...find or multa kun pataka ug labay sa basura....'Operation Silhig'...every house yards ...highway or streets...stores and other establishments...like markets ... food stalls...ocean clean up...also Bayanihan is a must for this enormous campaign of cleaning up... all Barangay Puroks is one of the frontline of this campaign ...the solid waste manangement act... Garbage Bins are very important...in every business sector and in every streets/highways...and most of all...the markets
OMG buot2 sad! Nope, it's Colon St not Magallanes!!! That's noted in history already. Even the Manilenos or people from Manila knew about Colon Street. It's like the smaller verson of EDSA in Manila. Maybe Magallanes St can be part of it. But Colon St is longer than Magallanes and it's the center of trade or access in downtown area, and the most flexible access for transport! Just giving you example, if you talk of midtown, Robinson's Fuente is the heart of it. And if you talk of uptown, it's really Ayala or Ayala Bus. Park/ Center. Similarly, if you ask most Cebuanos where is downtown area? Unanimously, people wont say Magallanes, but it's only "Colon Street". And there are actually Eight (8) Malls in Colon St. which other streets don't have in this particular downtown area, gets nyo!!!

There are many reasons and documents that show Colon is NOT the oldest street, but there is no evidence to support the claim that it is. Cebu's leading historians have been debunking this myth, but they haven't had a platform to educate people about it. Unfortunately, the internet and school textbooks have already spread the myth as fact, making it difficult to correct. Two things: Lack of Garbage bins nearby and the lack of discipline from the citizen. Waste Management is a major problem here.
