    Your video is really informative. Can you plz tell what is the wattage of the coil you have used. Normally older alternators used to give 35-42 watts which is not enough for all the lights and horn of course i am telling it without using a battery.

    • @captainnomad704
      @captainnomad704  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ignition coil is from a max100. I haven't measured how much wattage it produces. AFAIK, the power is enough for a halogen bulb (headlight). I only have a headlight and a taillight on AC. The battery is basically just for aesthetic appeal 😂. Jokes apart, I had a horn which fell off the clamp somewhere during a ride, other than that, no DC utilisation. No indicators as well.

    Me too have an yezdi classic 2 1985
    Im from perumbavoor,ernakulam
    I am also looking to convert it to cdi
    Can u please tell me the cost for conversion?
    Does it helps in improving headlamps and battery recharge. Is their any difference in initial pickup after installing cdi??

    Bro what is the exact angle of ignition coil for this setup. I did my Diy setup with samurai cdi, and finding starting trouble after engin gets hot.

      @captainnomad704  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you talking about the timing for this? That's not that easy, I would say you get the timing right in ernakulam, if you're from ernakulam, they get the timing spot on with the timing light. Are you using KB100 coils? I think the coil setup might be different for different coils.

      I would have told you but TBH, I don't have the tools to get that magnet back after removing it. You need a lot of force to keep it locked in.

      @@captainnomad704 am from alappuzha i set up with samurai's magnet and coil the problem am facing is that in cold conditions it starts well and runs well after engine gets hot it wont start until it cools down..if you have any idea about this trouble pls let me know.. i have done many adjustments in carburetor still cant find out the trouble..

      If the bike start well when the engine is hot, then that’s a major problem. That’s when the bike should start without pumping at the first kick. I can’t really think of anything without looking at your bike. The issue doesn’t have to do anything with the carb I’m guessing. Anyway, what carb are you using? Jikov, pacco or mikuni? I used to have problems with my Jikov, not the ones like yours though. For starters, try checking the condition of the plug, check for any variations with the power (wattage), maybe there’s a problem with the magnet; also, do check for the timing.

    • @captainnomad704
      @captainnomad704  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the issue was with the carb, the start wouldn’t be easy in the first place. I’m guessing timing.

    Wich carburetor tune in this video pacco or jikov

    • @captainnomad704
      @captainnomad704  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Neither. This is a micarb

    • @PrakashPrakash-hd2uv
      @PrakashPrakash-hd2uv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wt about pacco users please make a video of pacco

    • @captainnomad704
      @captainnomad704  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's nothing to make a video really. If you have a Pacco P47, then it's same. Check for a spring loaded screw, that would be your idle screw and the other one is your air screw.
      If its a P43/Jikov, the screw facing downwards is your idle and the screw facing towards you is the air.
      Rest is similar on most carburetors.
