this song is about to become a whole lot less rare, after the video "help i have a very good soviet song but idk the name of it" was uploaded it has started to spread around the internet
the word "salt" is being played with in this song. In Russian slang (rather old-fashioned one) the word can also mean "sense, point, purpose, meaning" as well as "zest (as in "to give zest to smth)", so there ya go and don't get too confused by the man singing "salt of our lives is the sea and the fleet" or anything salt-related. It may have nothing to do with literal salt after all :D
'Salt' is also used in much the same way among sailors in general, usually older ones. At least both in Poland and the Atlantic coast of the americas, from Brazil to Canada
For foreigners who may take the song's chorus too literally Salt is a play on words; in Russian, salt also means meaning in ancient slang. For example, you can often hear the phrase in Russia "What's the salt?" = "What's the point?" And here it is played out that the point of the fleet is all the joys of naval romance, the sea, sunsets, a united team, the whole point is even in a simple salty breeze from the water and if you like all this, then this is your path - be a sailor
@@VolkTikhon Yep you guessed it right, I indeed took the song from this video The song was so good i uh yuh preserved it and copied it but this time with name and lyrics! also this song only exists in French (La chanson du sel) , i think im the first one to do a anglophone video about and i am french lmaoo

@NotNormal654 Yes and no. Depends on what you want to do. My advice look into the jobs they have and see what the requirements are. First, pick 3 or 4 you think you want to do and stick to that. Remember when you are ready to speak to the recruiters, remember they are used car salesman who just need you to make it into boot camp, not your friends, no matter how nice they are. So don't sign up for a contract until they have the job you want to do. They will give you want because the navy needs people who won't quit right away. When your in boot camp my only advice is to shut up and listen. You'll be fine. I'd also recommend the Air Force know quite a few people who are relatively happy in there. They do have slightly higher standards when it comes to smarts. So do some research before you do anything.
