This is probably not on Spotify for many reasons, 1. Christian Olde Wolbers former bassist is playing guitar. 2. Dino was out of the band due to infighting. 3. Christian Olde Wolbers was disapointed in the album calling it rushed and unfinished, because the new label pushed them to finish it so they could go on tour with Megadeth for Gigantour. 4. After all Transgression and Archetype weren't so bad. They were just bad for the band Fear Factory. After Transgression it appeared that band would ultimately break up. I'm glad they didn't.
Tony Savage actually Archetype did very well with sales and critical acclaim. It was more like Demanufacture than Digimortal or even Obsolete. Transgression suffered because of the rushed production by the new label and pressure to include covers and more melodoc songs. There were other songs that didn't get finished. Of the band was given ample time to finish and wernt pressured like they were the album would have been a lot better and more revered I'm sure
TURBOGSRHATCH Because high frequency sound waves pierces through low frequency sound waves like a hot knife through butter. A good set of tweeters can easily drown out subs. The jackass that's bumping the bass wouldn't be able to hear his beat anymore with the guitar riffs screaming in his ears.
The music kicks ass but it's unexplainable what happened with the production. It sounds like a demo. Very raw, kind of thin and not fitting FF at all. Especially in the guitar department. Such a shame.
Blame Toby Wright and Calvin Records for this rush job. Songs are epic but not the production. According to Christian, Burton didn't help matters either by being overbearing in the studio, agreeing with all Toby's ideas (or lack thereof...) and only singing to songs he and toby chose, including the U2 cover that the rest of the band DID NOT want to include.
A big part of it is the weak guitar tone. It's kind of flappy and undefined compared to their previous albums. It has some strange extra "noise" here and there, especially the palm muted parts in 2:47 where it's really prominent.
I know this album is considered controversial in FF's musical canon and understandably so, but I think this is their best opener and one of their finest songs out of their entire discography. Too bad the rest of the album was kinda meh imo
If Fear Factory albums are compared to Terminator films, Transgression is like the Terminator Salvation of Fear Factory albums. Salvation was an awesome movie and all, but it was nowhere near as good as the other Terminator films because Arnold wasn't in it. Similarly, Transgression is great and all, but nowhere near as great as the other Fear Factory albums, because Dino isn't on the album, and it wasn't produced by Rhys Fulber. Fear Factory started to fall off after Dino left. When Dino came back, they were back to being the best band ever.
