i keep coming back to this song because the bass part is so good. Colin can take something "simple" and yet make it look extremely fun, like the live videos he makes every bass line look so nice and fun, regardless of difficulty. That is something thats hard to do which is why hes one of the best players in my eyes!
What do I comment on first, your taste in music or your bass playing??! Gah! I wish I knew your channel earlier! ♥️ Keep em coming, your videos are simply fantastic.
I was watching the Descending cover then realised you didn't made Wings for Marie Pt 1. Schism and Lateralus might be good ones too. Thx. Love your vids.
Your porcupine tree covers are so epic and they hello so much for aspiring bsssists! Would definitely love more covers of their stuff, maybe Hatesong? Thank you for the great work
Superb cover! I'm learning from this one. One question, if you get the chance - How do you overlay your bass track on to the original, and "drown-out" the bass on the original so that it does not interfere with the recorded bass?
Thanks a lot! I use an equalizer to remove all low frequencies from the original track (up to 120Hz). But this also removes the kick drum sound so you have to find a balance. But yeah, all the bass you hear is just mine basically.
What happens when you “mess up” while recording a song for us? (Especially a long one!) Do you start over from scratch? Thanks for all your hard work. I love all your prog covers.
He almost certainly does, editing multiple takes together is not worth the timesave of a couple of minutes, especially when you enjoy the song you're playing. Plus there's the whole moral thing with showing it all how it is, how the song is perfecftly doable in case it looks hard, etc.
I can mess up as much as I want actually. These videos are actually just multiple tracks edited together. An audio track and a video where I playback the song. I do this so my videos aren't full of mistakes and people can focus on learning it, rather than pointing out mistakes :) Thank you!
Though I like your thinking here LRed13, it's just playback. But I can play this song in one take for sure. I just choose to edit my audio on top of a playback video to save time and let it flow even better.
@@LeoBassCovers2 To each his own i guess, i would re-record the song just because i can't be bothered to edit more than i have to. Hate doing it. But i guess i at least know now that you do it. Out of curiosity, what percentage of covers have spliced audio? Because not only are most songs you cover rather easy mechanically, but it all sounds perfectly organic.
Well done, bro. ;) "So It Begins" by Octavision, "Monstrocity" by Meshuggah, "Пир во Время Чумы", "Ипотека в Подмосковье" or "Я Стал Трансгендерной Постфеминисткой" by Бездна Анального Угнетения, please!
5 months watching your videos and I never really understand... Why do you play 4 string songs with a 5 string bass? Maybe you don't have another one but that's just a theory, I REALLY need the real answer
Your theory is right. I didn't have a 4 string bass for about 5 years. I recently bought one but it's a jazz bass which isn't that great for these prog songs. Also, this Warwick is the face of this youtuve channel :)

Great cover of a Great song! Always appreciated those kind of collabs between players from different bands.
A collab? :o

@@LeoBassCovers2 don't you know who plays the second guitar solo? ;)
I don't.
@@LeoBassCovers2 Mikael Åkerfeldt wrote the second guitar solo.
Love it! Thanks!
Was really hoping to see this one!
I was watching the Descending cover then realised you didn't made Wings for Marie Pt 1. Schism and Lateralus might be good ones too. Thx. Love your vids.
If you want Schism and Lateralus, Coversolutions has already done great covers of those two
No one covers part 1 of wings for Marie whose fingers live long enough to tab out the tale...
Great song...also played with a Wal !!
thank you so much. Amazing cover :)
Thank you!
Grande Leo ! Perfecto como tus otros covers
Nunca vi um baixo trastejar tanto na minha vida
I love the 47 quarter silence... Very... Silencely
Fantastic cover man, amazing job. Any chance you could cover the masterpiece that is Anesthetize, for us PT addicts???
Thank you! I'd love to, but it's really quite long so we'll have to see.
This is really awesome, would you do blackest eyes?

Thank you for the great work
Thank you very much! I think i've looked into Hatesong once and it was quite a difficult fretless bass riff. But maybe :)
That drop fucking stomps
Perfect cover
Thank you. I really don't have time which is why I created the Patreon page again.

Why the drop d. Thanks.
Because Porcupine Tree writes 90% of their music in drop D. the other 10% is in drop C/standard C
@@LeoBassCovers2 Got it thanks. Guess, this way, the bass can correspond to the guitar when needed.
