@@SeniorPerspective-123 when you rewatch the show Christine was telling us everything wasn't fair from the start and kody was spending most of his time Liebrows.The family was covering up alot for kody and financial gain with the cloak of charity for along time.
I feel like they preyed on her emotional pregnancy state throughout the entire beginning of the relationship with Rob’em. This whole situation had Christine on antidepressants following Truely’s birth. Clearly, Christine was far from ok about this particular 4th wife.

I think the last really happy time for Christine in the family was the day before Robyn came on the scene.

Oh yes. Robyn is Mrs. LipService. State one thing and do the exact opposite. I don't think her plan was to destroy the family, but she got too fond of her special position as the legal and headwife. Christine and Janelle trusted Meri. Janelle had a bad gut feeling from the beginning when it comes to finances. She was so right...
Oh, and the picnic table discussions about the sacred covenant. That totally revealed that Robbing knew the other wives weren't happy. Very early on, before their spiritual marriage. Kody exposed that. Ooops. Too bad, blabbermouth.

Yup. Christine was pretty clear from the get-go that she wasn’t interested in another wife…and that the way Robyn was brought in was completely underhanded.
And Janelle is pretending she was in the loop to hide Kody'sbad behavior. Both Christine and Janelle were in the dark.
AND. In one episode, Kody said that Robin wasn’t interested in him when he first met her. Then TLC happened. Just sayin…..
It was said it was this is what’s going to happen and it’s going to happen wether you like it or not ! No one had a choice !!!! I don’t think so anyway just my opinion!
From day one that Robyn and Kody met Robyn played the game to get Kody. Meri may have thought she was in the loop, but Robyn played Meri. She needed Meri to infiltrate the family. Robyn seems to me to be a con artist. She didn’t want the man, so much as, she wanted the security of being taken care and her kids being taken care of. She had a plan and she has executed the plan perfectly! Robyn would never have entered this family without the show, because she knew with the show there would be money. It is the only money she has brought into the family. Pretty sure she never shared her portion with the others. All she did is take, they paid off her huge debt, she took the full profit from M and half of J’s profit from their Vegas homes. She wants more than half of CP land for herself. I can’t stand Robyn. She is greedy!
Robyn's ex is Christine's cousin so sje knew a out Robyn's BS in that marriage. She didn't trust her.

Oop just saw a family tree (not sure who did it) that shows Christine’s father is the brother of David Jessop’s mother, Diane Allred. So yeah, cousins.
Between Janelle being Kodys stepsister, and Meri being Janelle’s former sister in law…that’s a real family bush! So Robyn’s kids are actually Christine’s cousins once removed??
I think Janelle later regretted agreeing to Robyn. As a hard worker I believe Janelle thought Robyn would contribute to the family, but she just took.

I blame Kody not Janelle or Meri. Janelle and Meri knew they really didn't have a say and that Kody was calling the shots. I dont even believe Meri brought Robyn in. They made her believe that like they conned her into the legal divorce. Kody was essentially having an affair with Robyn and the other wives just hoped for the best.

Christine never wanted Robyn in the family. She made her feelings clear from the very beginning. Like you, that is why I liked Christine.

Them saying that Christine had a "vote" as to if Robyn could join the family, is equivalent to my employer asking me for my "honest" opinion on if I enjoy my job. 🤨If you want to keep a roof over your head and food in your stomach, you know that the only answer to that question is, "Absolutely!!"

I was listening to James from My Take on Reality and he mentioned that there was an overlap between the end of Robyn’s marriage and when she and Kody 1st got together…which I completely missed when I first started watching the series. I also truly believe that Christine really didn’t have a say in whether or not Robyn came in - I think that her feelings towards it were fluffed off as pregnancy hormones. 😕

I think this is why Meri and Kody kept Robyn away from letting Christine know she was being considered as a wife because they knew she didn’t want it. They left it until Robyn and Kody were together until they told her

Adding a fourth wife might’ve been easier if it wasn’t 15-16 years AFTER the third. Everyone else is added in a span of about 2-3ish years after previous marriage. 15 years (with a new wife that’s 10 years younger than everyone, divorced with three kids and MASSIVELY in debt) is difficult….

The fact that Kody needed to be with Robyn because she was a new wife proves the kids were second class. Truely was new to the family too where was the time spent with her. I wonder if Robyn's "value" was ever found in the family.

I guess only Kody got to value her "pencil humidor". At least back then. Don't know about today. Kody is getting older and Robyn too. Things change with age. 😁During early episodes, we see kids spend time at Robyn's. I think she did help with the kids in the beginning. Until Christine was back after Truely's birth, taking care of most of the kids. And Robbing got her nanny.
Robyn did get pregnant soon after. Truely and Solomon are only year apart

I cannot with him! Mykelti has an ok wife in Tony.
"They gave her a say, Tish"....yeah, as long as the say was "Yes master. I hear and I obey." Other than that, it was "talk to the hand, cause the face ain't listening." Christine knew Robyn was coming into the family come hell or high water, regardless of how she felt about it. And Christine knew if anyone would be put out in the cold with "hat in hand" (as Kody loves to say), it wasn't going to be Robyn and her kids. It would be Christine and her kids.

Back then, I didn't pay that much attention to the OG3 doubts they were having. I thought, okay, they are being pretty truthful. I'd be cautious and jealous too.
She was the one who sacrificed and wasted years on Kody. Not the other way around, how ever loud Kody will yell, trying to convince anybody that being true. This applies to Meri and Janelle as well. I think the show and the income made them stay longer than they should have.
OG3 have become financially more independent. Meri got financially independent through Lularoe + her BNB, Christine through Plexus + Lularoe. Janelle has a coaching business + is doing Plexus too. Additionally: they now apparently have their own LLCs for their TV + social media income.
The reason Mykelti is re-watching the episodes is to make money. Period.
I get tired of the shade thrown at Christine by those two. No one is perfect, but she's so disrespectful to her mom at times. It's obvious she's trying to "defend" K & R.

No, I don’t. I think Janelle was trying to appear supportive to Kody’s wishes, regardless of her own feelings.
And when Robyn got pregnant, Janelle did not congratulate her or even smile. She ignored Robyn for that whole evening.

I think Janelle was very invested in the idea of "polygamy works." She forced herself to "want another wife,"' and to be Ok with Robyn because otherwise she may have to consider the idea that polygamy is not great. She is now having to face that reality anyway.

Thanks for another great video Jenny! Christine used to say that she always wanted to be a 3rd wife and that she actually believed that she would be the last wife. Instead, Kody brings in Robyn, 3 more kids (I think they had a nanny) and an incredible amount of debt. Kody picked a real winner when he chose Robyn.

Isn’t that what all these rewatches are about? Taking a look at their past? Do you think she shouldn’t be honest with her experiences? They all have negative behavior/things in their past, not just Meri. I think if they’re exploring the past, they should be honest.

The boy doesn’t contribute to his family financially. I’d bet my elbow Rob’em sends Tony money “ to help out” and to make sure Tony will always defend her. Let’s not forget Tony proposed to a virtual stranger after dating about 6 minutes. Trust and believe he knew everything about that family. I am also completely convinced Mykelti said yes just to try to upstage Maddie and Caleb.

Hi my friend! 😊💖 NO Christine didn’t want Robyn from the jump and she made no bones about it. I THINK she may have still had a hard time with a 4th wife, but part of it was bc it WAS Robyn. She is cousins with Preston, Robyn’s ex. She knew how Robyn was and how much discord she would bring to the family. TLC spun that story to make it seem like Robyn was just some new person that was friends with Meri and Meri encouraged her and Kody’s relationship. No no no. Not how it went. We already know he wanted to marry Robyn and was told no bc of his poor financial situation 🤷♀️ Christine could only say so much I’m sure bc of the contracts with TLC but she knew what a snake Robyn was right from the start and didn’t want her bc she knew what would happen. Truth be told Meri only wanted her to try to gain favor with Kody, and Janelle just goes along to get along bc I know they both had reservations too.
Christine says she “had a say about Robyn” but she didn’t. She could see it was gonna happen anyway. She just threw her hands up. Also, at the time she was very pregnant and had 5 other kids to take care of and other things to focus on. Makes me mad at Kody for doing that to her 🤬 And yup Christine could see the writing on the wall once Kody decided to take up with Robyn. She knew that their marriage was changed and probably knew it was just a matter of time. I think she was trying to wait til the kids were grown and out on their own mostly. But then Kody not going to Ysabel’s surgery just was the straw that broke the camels back. It is sad. The whole thing. I also hope this gives Mykelti a whole new perspective. It was exposed that he asked permission from the church to marry Robyn before and was denied. Due to he could not afford another wife. After they was put on the show it was finally approved.

You know, I find it so interesting that Janelle wanted Robyn and her kids in the family, when SHE was the one who paid the bills, did the books, etc. Then later, she starts to really worry how they're going to be able to financially handle all these extra people! It makes no sense!
I think she was just trying to keep sweet and not say anything. Sad.

I think it gradually dawned on Janelle what financing Robyn + her kids really cost. Then add the credit card debt the Browns took over. I can also guess that Robyn's job search wasn't too intense. Instead, she got a nanny.
We have heard about DINKs. (Double income no kids).
Robbing was a NITK. No income three kids.

The family has to get permission from the church to add a wife. My understanding is that they were turned down for adding a different 4th wife.

That's my understanding too. Kody, like a toddler, doesn't like to be told 'no', so this is likely when they left the church and started having services at home. His religious convictions went right out the window - he just wanted Robyn.

It was obvious Christine did not want another wife in the family. Add onto that, pregnancy hormones. Janelle did question how a fourth wife would effect their family. Meri only wanted Robyn as a "gift" for Kody to earn his favor.
During the courtship, a major problem came up but the family ignored it. Family motto raising kids was 1) every adult treated every child like their own; 2) "if you aren't bleeding don't bother us; 3) rough housing was encouraged, as well as climbing tall mountains of rocks; 4) Christine was the main caretaker of children, but any mom available would help out when necessary.
Robyn did not trust anyone to watch her kids, so add nanny; 2) no rough housing for her children, too dangerous; 3) she did not want anyone else disciplining her children except her; 4) she saw normal sibling interactions as bullying her kids; 5) and the biggie....she did her best to stop her kids from growing up.
IMO any family that is blending children, need all adults and kids to be on the same page for how to act and consequences for bad behavior. Most important is TRUST in the adults to handle your children.
Robyn NEVER TRUSTED anyone with her kids.....not even Meri!
This blended family never had a chance.....lumpy from beginning to end.

Could Kody have picked an absolute worse time to bring in another wife? Christine was like 8-9 months pregnant, what was he thinking?
Christine did the same thing to Janelle because Janelle was pregnant when Christine wanted to join the family !!!
Among the wives, Christine was the one who took care of the children of all three, did the laundry and cooked, that's why the children of the three wives still consider Cristine a mother in addition to their biological mother.

Meri watched the kids when Christine worked at the Church, and when she worked with the Polygamy Center
She also helped Christine.
It was talked about during the Show.
Christine DID NOT take care of all the kids by herself. Her and Meri alternated childcare and they took turns. Everyone thinks Christine does everything and she doesn't. But remember how Robbing told how she had fought for her marriage. Chrstine did that too since 2009 when you came along, Robbing!
Christine, in her fairytale ideal of this polygamy she was supposed to be the 3rd and last wife because her dad only had 2 and it was Hell. Meri and Janelle had the idea about bringing another wife because Kody put in their minds. The scene of Kody telling the kids about Robyn was fake. They already knew about Robyn joining the family but TLC haven't recorded yet.

It was mentioned somewhere that the man (Kody in this case) would need to get permission from church leaders to take on another wife and a criteria for this could be based on whether the family could afford to financially support another wife (and in Robyn’s case 3 additional children). Kody, prior to the show, couldn’t financially support the 3 wives and the children he already had.
that is so true. Without this show, I guess either no Robyn, or Kody leaves the "church" to take Robyn as a wife. Well, she would never join their family if it wasn't for the fame and fortune that came with the TV show.

Robyn kept asking Kody to help herself. In Las Vegas, Kody's office was in Robyn's house and even there Kody favored Robyn. Kody didn't help Christine take care of her youngest child she just gave birth to when Kodyn and Robyn took several weeks off.

I remember hearing ages ago (while in Vegas) that Kody only stays at Robbing's. Back then revelead on social media by neigbors, if I remember correctly. On one-on-one, Christine told that too. Kody spent one month mainly in her house - as a test.
On season 18, Robbing told Meri how she had tracked his time and there was a month where he was hardly ever at her house.
That was so ridiculous. Robbbing talking about exactly the ONE trial month. This woman is a master manipulator, but on the other hand, stupid enough to talk about this one month. ONE month!! I don't want to insult any cows... But Robbing was being one. A stupid one.
Kody had an affair with Robin and only way to save grace was to add her to the family. Kody was tired of the other three.

I totally agree with him being tired of the other three. I think that was the reason for Robyn's Sacred Covenant with Kody, including that he would tell her when he's fed up with her, instead of keeping her hanging on in a miserable marriage. She knew before marrying Kody that the other three wives weren't happy. Or Kody was fed up with them. Or either way or both ways!

It's really shocking to see how early on Christine was really struggling. During her pregnancy and after Truely's birth. Now seeing this, I think "Girl, run!". IMO, Kody tossed aside everyone else but Robbing and her kids.
I think any mother can relate to Christine's feelings. Just imagine a husband finds a new "jeans model" while you're pregnant and while you're dealing with all your hormonal changes and emotions?

Christine and Janelle knew from the start that Robyn was a bad idea. Even if Robyn was a good person, the dynamics in the family were too fragile to add a whole new wife and kids to deal with. I think Mykelti is beginning to see that.

Hi Jenny, it's Mase Chill under my other account. I think it's weird Tony has never seen the episodes either. Especially the ones with him in it. I would at least watch mine lol. Mykelti's take on "fave wife" is off. Yes, Meri was boss lady but we know from her and Kody's account they had issues in their marriage from the beginning and intimacy was non-existent for years. I agree that Christine probably did think she was the last and therefore she wouldn't have to go through what the others had to go through.
Christine said she was the 3rd fun wife. So Robyn took that status from her. Christine's 6th child was barely a blimp on Kody's mind. He was filled with his love (lust) for Robyn.

The men are supposed to act like they love, or like all the women equally, and the women are supposed to act like they are not jealous or trying to be their favorite. It is a very toxic situation, mentally.
After sixteen years, I’m sure Christine felt their family was settled. Later we learn Robyn was married to Christine’s cousin. Surely Christine had inside information about Robyn’s 1st marriage break up and Robyn’s character. Christine’s intuition proved right in the end.

I think it’s interesting around 26:55 Janell actually says something like “when one of the couples is struggling…”. I saw one of the recent interviews with Christine where she related a conversation she had with Robyn when Robyn referred to the family being 4 “couples” and Christine objected to that language and sort of used it as proof that Robyn was not committed to Polygamy. That Janell used that terminology early on discounts Christine’s argument a bit. I mean, I’ll always be team Christine, but I’m also fact/reality based.

Robyn was a storyline invented for the show. So when they voted on Robyn coming into the family… it was really a vote to pursue the TLC show. Originally it was just a documentary. But with the addition of Robyn, the intrigue was there and the show was created.
Nobody wanted Robyn especially us viewers... She Broke up that whole family.

I believe the decision to bring Robyn in was made long before Christine ever knows. We all know Meri and Kody had this little secret about Robyn. Also Meri even admits this. Meri used this to get close to Kody. We all know this blew up in Meri's face once Kody proposed to Robyn and everyone became aware of her.

@@SeniorPerspective-123 I totally agree. Meri apparently/possibly wanted to comply, hoping to gain Kody's favor. Remember, she said on the one-on-ones that Kody required that she behave in a certain way and that she do certain things. So I can totally see these things being a) Supporting him to bring in Robbing and b) filing for divorce so that K+R can get legally married.
My theory is that Robbing cried her eyes out to Kody, telling that her kids weren't safe. "Things would be so different if we were married". That kind of stuff.
Then Ramen Head decided that he has to save Robbing and her kids by divorcing Meri, marrying Robbing and adopting her kids.
The enthusiastic reactions from the original Brown kids about the adoption were very probably forced on them. We now know that they had to "shut up and play along". (Sorry, can't remember which of the kids talked about this. Mykelti?)
Meri knew for two weeks before the other's and probably because she was there, and saw them.
Meri was not happy, and it showed. She said as much, several times.
She even thought about leaving.

When I see clips of very early episodes, it seems as if I had never really caught back then how unhappy the OG3 were. Christine and Meri were unhappy and sad, Janelle suspicious and worried.

Christine could see the writing on the wall from the beginning. She was group pressured into begrudgingly giving her OK. She spent years waiting for Cody to prove her instincts wrong but all he ended up doing was confirming she was right over and over and over again. I am happy for her that she gave up waiting for a different result, even though nothing was changing. I am so glad she is happy now in a wonderful relationship. I am happy that Janelle and Meri are also finding their personal bliss on their own terms as strong, independent women.

My theory is that the only reason the show got officially greenlighted was bc of the addition of a fourth wife. I think Christine has to choose between poverty or a third wife. The whole first season was about the intro of Robyn into the family. If they really just wanted the OG 3 then my guess is that they would have started shooting before the idea of another wife came into the picture.
There was a scene early on the show , where maddy and Robyn are talking about maddy just wanting one guy and one husband and Robyn accidentally said you and I are the ? Then she stopped , it sounded like Robyn was going to say that was her belief as well , you are like me that way ! But she caught herself !!!!

I hope Mykelti will be ok. This is all she knew and this is her way of financial support her family. This has to be daunting and stressful trying to comment on the people she loves. I hope she confides in therapy. Grace for her and her family

Narcissistic Kody sees himself as a good man. To whom? To Robbing Cryebrows. To his kids with the OG3 and the OG3? No.
The "good man" has to do with their church. A woman should not divorce a good man. (If she does, she's not a good person.) That's why Robbing was telling how horrible her 1st marriage was. So she was able to dump him and leave him for Kody and the TV show. (My opinion + something that has been said about her...)

Christine did not take care of all of those kids all on her own like she tries to make out she did because when Meri was not working her two jobs she was always there to help Christine with the kids !! Look at how Janelle entered the family, Meri and Kody head went to visit Meri's brother Janelle said that she knew that she wanted to marry Kody even though she was already married to Meri's brother and Janelle did the same thing that Christine did and ask Kody to marry her but NEVER considered Meri's feelings and Janelle was Meri's sister-in-law !!! I think at that time it wasn’t so much Robyn in particular that Christine didn’t want added to the family, it was that she didn’t want another sister wive, period. She was the third, which was the position she wanted, and it had been that way for 15 years. I don’t think anyone fore saw the damage that was in store for the entire family. A sister wive who understood how a sister wive should fit in would have possibly worked out okay. Robyn was not a good fit and was,in fact, a terrible, destructive fit.
So glad I found your channel! You are SO on point with your opinion. Christine DID NOT want to have another wife in the picture. There was too much going on. She was heavily pregnant. Lots of emotions and she liked the way thinks were.

Really enjoy your perspective and the attention you give to detail. I think the only thing that ever makes me comment on this Sister Wives stuff is always in the kids defense on whatever they are (or aren't) saying. They are, for sure, in some ways working out being the adult product of an unhealthy family dynamic with a lot brighter spotlight than many. I won't go so far as to call it an abusive family, but only because I'm being EXTRA GENEROUS in realizing that they likely hid it well.
I love that many of the kids are now making their own content because if you get exploited your whole freaking life, good for you for figuring out how to make some cash off of it yourself!!!!!! But also, I cringe because the older ones are all in that general age range where you are trying to come to terms with whatever dysfunction you had growing up....but also they are doing it on cameras...because they don't even know that's what they are doing.
So, Mykelti is trying to NOT loose her dad that she still loves, so yes, she's gonna be as gentle with her perspective as possible because he's the NOT SAFE ONE. She can be honest about her mom because a healthy parent isn't gonna ditch you for being honest...and she's learned, along with all the rest of her family how it works out for you if you are honest with dad about his terrible choices and behavior. I suspect her re-watch will do her more harm than good if she doesn't have a therapist because she'll probably see the painfully bad parent she has while also trying not to completely tank her parents current livelihood. The more I think about it, there is no way that child can be honest with herself MUCH LESS strangers on camera.
So many people ask "how can she not see?" but I want to scream it... y'all, we think this is commentary from an objective adult involved in a heavy situation but it's not. This is really a child who desperately needs her "parents/ family" to be. Every kid who grows up in trama learns the tactic that works best for them to get through it. Eventually, many give up and cut their parent(s) out but that's CRAZY HARD when you absolutely love and feel like you need them. That is a baby (i dont care how old she is technically) who DESPERATELY wants to keep her dad and she knows that to keep her dad she's gotta tiptoe around a lot of stuff. And I don't even mean "tiptoe" on social media; I mean in her own mind.
That's all... I know that's a lot.... just saying. When I see these clips I see a young lady trying REALLY HARD to not loose her "dad" even if if only existed in her imagination.
