The game displays the opponent on track where it believes it to be based on data being sent and received, but when there is a tiny difference is speed of that data it can mean that cars are slightly out of position, usually by just a few cm’s on track. That’s why cars appear to jump around or when the collision box is slightly out of sync. The games timing delta is not in real time either. It updates every few meters on track, so that could explain why the Red Bull appeared to be behind by a fraction of a nose cone, but was perhaps ahead according to the timing or game’s data
in real f1 car, the sensor lies somewhere around f1 drivers leg so i wouldnt be surprised if its in f1 game too, what i wanted to say is that you might have crossed the line with wing first, but his sensord crossed it first than as he was faster
