    Hey Daryl, good to hear from you, really miss your operation sessions on your layout, hope one is coming soon lol, got me a air brush not long ago but really don't trust myself with it. Thanks for sharing

    You make dismantling of the trucks/wheels look second nature without a worry of any integrate parts... braver than I, that's for sure!

    Thanks for sharing....Jack, you made it look really easy and not all that difficult.

    Thanks for sharing. Something else that looks good too. Is to put some of the black wash around the air tanks over the fuel tanks in the same manner as you do the grills.

    Very nice, simple weathering job. Moddel Materrs is a excellent paint to use for weathering!! Thanks for sharing.

    Good approach, and the final result is great. Hadn't seen the Micro Mask liquid tape before, but looks quick and easy to use. Iain

    Keep up the good work Daryl. Although Floquil and Polly Scale are gone you can substitute these. Testers still makes Armour Yellow/ Harbor Mist Gray so does True Color and Squadron. Grimy Black is also still made so is Railroad Tie Brown.

    I like the tip about removing the wheel sets simply by popping the sideframes. I feel silly now disassembling the whole model.
    Thanks for continuing the video series.

    Daryl miss ya pal!!! For the next video can you turn the AutoFocus off on the camera??????

    • @EvanstonSub

      Annoying, isn't it. I used my very nice Nikon camera which is very good for pictures, not that great for model railroad video. Turns out a good smartphone camera is a better option for model railroad videos. The short focal length makes for better depth of field. I'll use a smartphone next time. Got to get yourself down to Georgia sometime for an op session!

    Dumbo question here - returning to n scale after 25yrs in live steam scales - what is the purpose of the windshield treatment?

    • @EvanstonSub
      @EvanstonSub  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While locomotives get very dirty, they generally keep the windshields clean for visibility. The treatment keeps the weathering from affecting the windshield,

    What's the servo noise that I'm hearing in the background??.

      It sounds like the camera is in auto focus mode and the focus is constantly trying to re-focus

    Did you remove or mask the power pickup strips?

    • @EvanstonSub
      @EvanstonSub  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I removed the pickup strips in the trucks along with the wheel-sets. The pick up strips in the frame were not removed.
