It kinda works for every equation but in some equation you will have to use square root of numbers to get the sub equal to b and multiplication equal to ac. Use quadratic /shri dharamcharaya formula there

Nope there are some rare cases the way to check if it will work on the particular equation or not is by using b² - 4ac look that formula up and how to use it

It is your choice,if the question has given you to find the zeroes by quadratic then do it by the quadratic formula and if it has given you to find it with MTS then find by MTS only,if neither nis states then you can use whatever you want
