    6. Esempio video 3: L'ibernazione di Han Solo (Imperial March e Han Solo and the Princess)
    Nella scena in cui Han Solo viene ibernato possiamo sentire la Marcia Imperiale emergere in più momenti: prima rallentata per sottolineare la drammaticità della scena, poi con suoni molto acuti nel momento di climax ed è ancora riproposta alla fine. A tutto questo si intreccia il tema romantico Han Solo and the Princess, la cui espressività contrasta fortemente con la situazione circostante, andando ad acuire la tensione generale.

      I read recently he was supposed to say something like “I’ll be back” but Harrison Ford wasn’t sure he actually wanted to be in the 3rd film at this point. He discussed the decision to change the line rather than ad lib it.
      Personally, Han Solo is my favorite Star Wars character so I’m glad he came back and was part of all 3 originals. I flipped a table when I saw “The Force Awakens.”

    I think this is the greatest scene in all of the Star Wars films. I think it is because the whole movie you got to see Han and Leia's relationship grow and then suddenly it is crushed. The score is absolutely phenominal.

    • @perfectsplit5515
      @perfectsplit5515 4 ปีที่แล้ว +57

      Agreed. This was such a great scene, in the context in which it was shown. Han started out as a self-centered mercenary who was only out for himself. It really turned off Leia. Then later, when he is about to meet a tragic fate, his last act is an honorable one - "Chewy, you have to protect the princess now!" She then gives him her love. Our heroes are beaten. Their enemies hold all the cards. Han must be tragically sacrificed so that our heroes can live to fight another day.

      Well... He's worked for Jabba, and he knows how Jabba gets when deals go south. Add to that he was the most powerful crimelord he knew and he still didn't fully believe in the force and the tales of the Jedi so it's not like he was counting on Luke to rescue him. At best he thought of him as a little brother who believed in fairy tales and was good with a blaster. He probably thought once he got to Jabba's he was through. No one could save him and he didn't know if he could escape.

    This scene particularly was a pain in the ass for everyone on the set. Irvin Kushner said that this was the most difficult scene to film, because it contains so many emotions and drama. The set was making problems with the machinery, all that steam and many other things. With all of the changes in the script, they weren't rehearsed with all of the actors, which made up to more tension of the set.
    Here Carrie and Harrison were so pissed off with each other, because the lines were changed without her knowing, they argued and during the filming they didn't talk with each other outside of the script, even when she tried to apologize...
    And yet, with all these problems with filming it, this scene is THE BEST in the whole SW saga! The faces of Harrison and Carrie, all the love they're expressing, makes it up all. It's so beautifully done, that I'm speechless. 😍💜💜💜💜

    I always got the feeling that, within the story post-"Return of the Jedi", that when they stare at each other here the way they do, that Leia and Vader begin to sense something more about each other here than they did before. Possibly, since Luke had just landed there, with both Luke and Leia in basically the same place at the same time, Darth Vader may have sensed their strong sibling bond with each other..a bond that neither he nor they were aware of the details of yet, but that still already existed generally speaking. That may have suddenly drawn his attention to Leia, which, in turn, caused her to suddenly feel a different vibe from him as well (which they never got the chance to figure out until toward the end of "Return of the Jedi".
    (This was also the film where we got to see several hints of Leia having Force abilities and her own beginning to realize it bit by bit herself. Yoda mentioning there being "another" as Luke left Dagobah. Leia's feeling of unease upon arrival at Cloud City and her initial distrust of Lando. And the strongestue being Luke senskng he could telepathically call to her and that she could "hear" him and "see" exactly where he was at the time)
    And then that is why Vader changes his mind about leaving her and Chewbacca on Cloud City with Lando. He decides, instead, to have them brought onboarding his ship. My theory is that he wants to further investigate why he senses what he does here about Leia and recognizes Threepio, whom he built in his youth. And Threepio happens to be on Chewie's back. Lol. I'm sure he knows Chewbacca had partially fixed Threepio as well and could be useful in fully repairing him. Or, since Wookies had been enslaved to help build the original Death Star, Vader might have planned to use Chewbacca as part of slave labor for the second Death StR, which, no doubt, was under construction during the events of "The Empire Strikes Back". Or the other possible reason could have been that Vader just wanted them on hand to use as temptation pawns to ensure Luke would turn to the Dark Side to save them. Or all of the above. Lol!
    Also. Leia and Han's exchange with each other MUST have reminded him of himself and Padme before being brought out into the Geonosis arena in "Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones".

    I love how Vader doesn’t address people by their name - emperor - princess- Wookiee
    Like he’s devoid of some things - all buried

    There are plenty of Star Wars moments that make me cry: Order 66, Vader's redemption, the Celebration scene at the end of the Special Edition of Episode VI, Han Solo's death, and Luke lifting his X-Wing. It's this scene, however, that makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it. Hell, I tear up even if I'm only listening to the audio in this scene. One of, if not the best, love confessions ever in movie history.

    Why didn't Vader sense the Force inside Leia... For a moment i felt like she sensed something in Vader when she stared at him, she took a huge step back!
