Yessah, thorough mr. Reale, thanks as usual! 😎🤙🏽For summer suits a back zip is fine. This way you can safe some bucks, I buy medium end suits from last year in the sale. In the winter a wipe out will flush the warm water out of your suit, so I prefer a slightly more expensive chest zip! Look up how cold the sea/ocean is in winter. Buy a wetsuit for the coldest period if you wanna surf in the winter, here a 4/3 is to cold for december till march. You'll need 5/4. Lobster claw gloves are a tad warmer than gloves. Mittens warmer than lobsterclaw loves. The thickest hood will not be regretted, especially with a double gasket. Most heat will leave your body from your head! I'm a pretty big guy that doesn't get cold too soon but I seriously opt for 7 mm boots now in stead of 5 mm here in Northern Europe. It's quite hard to wiggle your toes to get them warm again when they get cold eventually. It can get close to a showstopper when the rest of your body is still warm and your feet are signalling to quite in stead of sore spaghetti arms long before the 2 hour mark comes close. I noticed that the rubber panels on the stomach/chest make you stick on the board way better while paddling! Snug fit is key for everything! When you fit a winter suit that feels perfect round the neck it's a tad too loose. You'll notice after some use... It may feel very tight on the throat! That will go away when it's wet! Love the vlogs Jay! 💙💙💙

Great tip on the duck diving technique! I'll also second the lobster claw gloves being a bit warming than gloves for the North East.

If your ever at Newport Beach 36-44th between 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. good chance you will see my friend Drew with no wet suit even at 58-59 degrees. Me being 51 years old I am susceptible to peer pressure and and seing Drew Out on a cold cloudy morning gets out of my chair and in the water with my jacket. ( Buel Jacket I think 1.5-2 MM)

Cut the top inseam straps off booties and reduce how many sizes you need to go up.
Especially helpful if you already wear big fins.
