      warzone mod tools would be more appropriate, they have done mod tools before and its been successful so its stupid for them to claim its a bad idea.

      because there is zero market for new extraction shooters and it flopped, twice with MWIII “Zombies”
      if DMZ actually had a sustainable playerbase it would’ve replaced Warzone by now

      Activision probably thought that the development going towards DMZ was the reason Warzone 2.0 sucked, so they got rid of it. It was not (but it certainly did not help). The problem was that Warzone 2.0 had a lot of bad design decisions, and it replaced the game people actually liked. For example, all weapons were hitscan, had too much visual recoil, TTK was near instant, and the general mechanics were just terrible and unpolished. And it's only gotten worse since then imo.

  • @Mattsuki

    7:48 this honestly has been my conclusion to most issues I currently have with cod and it's really eaten away at my enjoyment of the series.
    -300 cp less in battle passes?
    -shop bundles are now more expensive than even 2400cp?
    -paid for events that used to be free after buying the full priced game?
    -not sticking to a theme in multiplayer?
    -ai art and voice actors?
    -recycled maps without changes?
    -smaller less complex maps?
    -literally no self revive for free in dmz like u said + p2w dmz bundles too during mwii
    There's more. But it's all cutting corners to save a quick buck and inevitably this will lose fan's respect in the long run.

      Tbh that's a good point, I haven't really thought of the two in the same breath for a while. Maybe because BF is more of a 'once every 3-5 years' release now, so it doesn't feel as similar

    The whole MW2 felt like it was made for DMZ. But then they forgot to put muxh needed content in it.
    But for real, playing DMZ makes me kinda want to go back to WZ2. The recoil isn't even that bad. It was mostly movement and a sense of clunkyness generated by the high ads speeds. Man, I miss the WZ2 maps

    The main problem I saw with DMZ is what you touched on, a lot of players started making it into 'mini warzone'. They would only go into DMZ to kill other players. Those players are the ones who hate warzone but somehow want to play....warzone. I never understood it but they ruined DMZ. However, I think DMZ could have been so much bigger if it received QoL updates and missions. Hell, I enjoyed the Raids for the same reason. PvE and you needed an actual team to do most missions. I had a blast with it.

    • @dillonc7955
      @dillonc7955 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      This. I used to watch a handful of DMZ creators before they became the hunt squads they complained about. Some of the tier 5 missions may as well be considered impossible for the average player with how Warzonified DMZ has become. I've done some myself and tried helping my friends with them; never again.

    I wish I had something more productive to add to the conversation, but despite Fortnite's 3 BR modes (Battle Royale, Reload, and OG), all basically being the same game on different maps, they all feel so different, but BR, Resurgence, and Plunder all feel the same to me.
    Also, I see a lot of people praise Fortnite's Racing, LEGO, and Rock Band modes, but Fortnite has public player counts, and those modes did not do very well, and the racing mode isn't getting any new updates, so yeah it's cool to point at, but just like the World Cup LTM in MW2, nobody came to Fortnite for Rock Band. I think the only thing they should actually do is add Ground War, since that IS what Call of Duty is, but big enough to make sense on the free-to-play 120 player game, without being deep and expansive enough to make the $70 paid experience seem like less than the free mode.

    • @ReplayMode
      @ReplayMode  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, that's the challenge with GW on the free-to-play track (honestly with it on game pass anyway, just make COD free-to-play at this point to avoid all this)
      Good to know about player numbers, I appreciate though that they're at least TRYING new things. After all, FN started as a tower defense game, and COD started as just a basic WW2 shooter, but now it has zombies and BR as two of its biggest staples, and I wish they would continue trying to innovate and branch out and find the NEXT zombies and BR instead of circling the drain.

      Talking about rocket racing, was it a good idea? Yh, but the execution was rubbish. They had screw with rocket league community to do it. So much has been removed from rocket league after epic took over. So much has been promised to it for nothing to happen. Rocket league was supposed to having racing and unreal engine 5, all for it to go towards fortnite. They took away trading which is a huge part of the game where a large part of the community just do trading

    They should end warzone integration into Call of Duty titles. Candy anime big head animal non serious operators stay in warzone. The serious REAL authentic soldier operators return in yearly call of duty games. That is also why i think mw19 is better than mw22 and 23

    • @dillonc7955
      @dillonc7955 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Agreed but Season 1 of BO6 is already off to a bad start. More dragons, candy, and anime bundles than actual dedicated operator skins. Cold War had a perfect 50/50 mix between silly and serious. Hopefully season balances things out.

    • @XwiktorroX-u9o
      @XwiktorroX-u9o 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @dillonc7955 I loved Cold war ! The operators really hit the Retro 80s aesthetic. They actually make sense , because the Black ops series was always less realistic and more arcadey than the modern warfare series. I think that its disterspecful , that Black Ops 6 , a game that shows a real military conflict - the gulf war, Has these ugly skins. What happened to immersion ? That is also why im worried about future world war 2 call of duties , but they already added Snoop dogg and space guns way back in vanguard -_- yeah... I am personally sticking with Black ops 1 and 2, world at war and MW2 and MW3 (2009) , (2011). ;)

    at 7:53 when you are talking about a self revive on solo in DMZ, theres actually a passive mission that can be completed relatively easily to unlock that ability. Dead drop 40 selfs on ANY map and any time you play solo you get a free self.

    • @ReplayMode
      @ReplayMode  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ah, I completely forgot about the upgrade tree. Tbh though, stashing 40 self-revives sounds like a lot of tedium vs just spending 15 bucks on a skin. It should just be default

    In regards to DMZ, they 1000% should bring in just a PvE mode. As somebody who played MWZ for its entire lifespan, that was basically a DMZ PvE mode and the community was great! (at least from my experience) Like people would share items, get together to take out bosses, travel massive distances to revive other players who weren't in their squads. It just a fun time. A game mode starved of content but still a fun time. Making DMZ just PvE and making the PvPvE mode a hardcore variant would be the smartest move CoD's made in years. Also I LOVED ground war in MWII so to see it completely abandoned in MWIII alongside Invasion and War was just heartbreaking

    • @ReplayMode
      @ReplayMode  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      MWZ deserved so much better in terms of support, it was a really fun 'lean back' sandbox mode, which is exactly what WZ needs! IMO, a PvE DMZ following MWZ's blueprint, but with more in-depth missions/side objectives, and PvPvE areas like Building 21, or specific regions around the map would be perfect.

  • @Mattsuki
    @Mattsuki 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I agree with you. I think Warzone has massively overstayed its welcome and people like a good chill pve.
    SO HERE'S MY PROPOSAL!!!
    - Let's have the Warzone team make an open world campaign! NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH OCMs, but it would be more so like Ghost Recon Wildlands or DMZ but with more story elements and dialogue. I want the ability for(up to) 6 person co op squads, a huge creative and dangerous map designed for stealth, parkour, sniping outposts, enemy bases to scout + take over, etc, instead of these tame, lawn high grass, everything is easily visibile/competitive, boring warzone style maps... it would almost be like cod ww2 HQ, but with much MUCH more to do. Imagine the potential to play a War(game mode) but just miniature within this mostly open campaign map. I'd love it

    • @ReplayMode
      @ReplayMode  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Honestly I would love an open-world campaign. I know the DMZ crowd would hate it, but my ideal version of that mode is almost exactly what you're describing.

    F2P Ground War would be the nail in Battlefield’s coffin, the real competition would be with Delta Force at that point. Battlefield has already burned so many casual and hardcore players alike that it’ll take a miracle for the next game not to flop even if it is good.

  • @dillonc7955
    @dillonc7955 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I personally think Warzone needs to become its own separate thing. Firstly, the storytelling took a major nose dive during MWIII. After they brought back Soap in the most Marvel multiverse way possible, I no longer cared about the story. Also is it thar hard to give us replayable cutscenes so we can keep track of what's going on?! Secondly, making Warzone a seperate IP could allow modes like DMZ, fireteam, and other holdiday modes to be added and more time to polish. Seeing Urzikstan in a less functional state as the alternative to Area 99 was depressing to say the least. It feels like pulling teeth gettig my friends to squad up as opposed to MW2019 and MW2's DMZ.

    • @ReplayMode
      @ReplayMode  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think after MW2, they stopped trying to give Warzone a real story, and now it just kind of exists, doesn't it? BO6 has a light story so far in MP, but it doesn't seem to connect to Warzone at all.
      And tbh, with CODHQ I think this is as 'separate' as Warzone is going to get, but I don't think that locks it out of getting those modes you mentioned. I would love to see Warzone get more support in the modes department, even Lockdown they just stopped bringing it back in rotation.

    The last 5 years of Warzone is just making nostalgia content and refixing the game, the only integration that actually added new content to the core battle royale was Warzone 2.0. Of course Warzone 2.0 was ass but they did add so many new things like the that terrible 2v2 gulag or the fortresses(after the npcs got taken out) and many other little things that were new but didn’t help the game. Anyway why I’m trying to get at is they just need to make new content that actually good but as we can see they’re not good at that at all.

  • @icy1172

      Well yeah, I outlined why they didn't work and how I think they could be tweaked appeal to a broader audience. Tbh I think a big part of the MWII-era modes like DMZ, Raids, and GW failing is they didn't get enough time to work out the kinks, and the devs were spread too thin in terms of support (on top of MWII specifically just not hitting for a lot of the base), so really the suggestion is to actually commit to something and not half-ass it

    “Warzone needs to change, actually”, so you mean regress. Literally, the first iteration was the best one (besides not having ricochet, which is dogshit anyway)

    I disagree with the premise of this video a bit, as someone who was super into warzone throughout it’s time, but with a feeling like it’s just been declining. Im sure that adding back a bunch of game modes would bring people in, but I wouldnt say that adding back DMZ and ground war will help warzone. It would take resources away from warzone. And that might be ok… i think the niche that warzone fills is PVP only with high stakes. DMZ towards the end of it’s life WAS that. And it was great. Resurgence and groundwar feel different, they arent high stakes. I dont think they would be adequate replacements or help the essence of warzone survive. DMZ might be able to, but I dont think there could be bots. It takes the emphasis away too much from pvp. A little pve isnt bad, but when 90% of your engagements are just with bots… well… its less fun. Bots have perfect aim, always no where you are the second youve been seen, they dont do anything interesting or unexpected when youre in a fight with them. Its like playing one of those arcade games with a gun shooting at a cowboy, where they just pop up and thats it.
