I think its badass you stuck with 350ci. People do not realize how much power can be had with a stock bore stroke motor. With a balanced assembly no trips to the machine shop are needed good fun strong motor!!
I’ve been looking for a rebuilt 350, this just inspired me to look harder. Thank you sir.
No problem! I spent extra money on some unneeded parts… if you can find one, it’s impressive what you can do with a Vortec headed Sbc for minimal dollar
Took the engine out of the car and put in on the dyno yesterday. Will upload a video when I have time to edit something together.
I'm going to put this package in my c1500 🙂
I have the video uploading now of the dyno results.
Tighten up the lsa to 105-108 and you will make more torque.
Its a “off the shelf” cam I used strictly for having an engine most people will find relatable. Was not looking for Max Performance… just a very fun engine to drive.
Sounds and looks really good. Seeing that you went with a SCAT rotating assembly (good choice) I'm wondering why you stuck with 350 cubes rather than going the stroker route. I have a 350 that I'm wanting to build with forged internals and am debating about going the stroker route since it doesn't cost a whole lot more.
Yes the 383 would make more Hp because of the added cubic inches of a 3.75 stroke and compression increase, comparing each identical engines combination. A 355. (Same heads, camshaft, compression etc.). I just assembled a package I knew would be fun to drive and would enjoy. The experience we have assembling engines for many years, we have learned what will work in an application. Most important thing about the engine is build something you can afford and try to have as much fun as possible along the way. Some folks need to stop letting outside influences dictate everything must be a quote on quote “STROKER”. I hate that term by the way haha
@@OneLastPass Thanks!
@@OneLastPass I feel the same have a 350 I built years ago gonna go back through it and heard the same thing on social media and people after much mental anguish I said the heck with it I'm sticking with the plan and have fun.😎
Good plan!
Do you have a way I could contact you to ask you some questions about a motor I’m building

Sounds good
Sounds good. What’s cam grind ? Thank you for sharing
Thanks, I wanted to share a video clip from finding lack of Lunati cams myself.
Street/Strip Solid Flat Tappet

@@OneLastPass Think comp bought lunati and many other brands yrs back. 11s is impressive for a vortec head 350.
Vortec head just works. Easily better heads to choose from but for your average guy and engine you just wanna have fun with there is not anything wrong with them.
@@OneLastPassI've seen many 450 hp engines with vortec heads (dyno proven). We used to build alot of 383 vortec motors about 15 years ago. With a little port work, they can flow more than alot of aftermarket heads. No other oem chevy head will outflow them.
Gahhhh dats sum hossss pire rite DERR
How much HP ?sounds good.
Don’t know our engine dyno isn’t ready yet. But it’s awfully fun to drive. In my 73 Nova at 3500lbs went 11.97 @ 117mph
Pretty fast with those vortecs.
@@OneLastPassYou're making some good power right there 💪
what mufflers are those?
Maaannn! Those are a 30+ year old set of Flowmasters my uncle order out of a catalog. Not sure exactly what series they are but they’re 3 1/2” offset inlet and outlet and I’ve pulled the baffling out off because they are falling apart. They’ll make a stock engine sound “HEALTHY” haha
How did you get the high lift out of the vortec heads
You can get the spring seats machined to accept higher lift springs
Using a Erson 10* degree locks and retainers and well as machining the tops of valve guides down .080 with PAC1201 springs

Can you still run pump gas
Yes
What are you using for rocker arms with solid cam? Im putting one together and kinda curious using rockers arms that are not self aligning.
I machined the heads for screw in studs and guide plates. I’m using COMP CAMS 1604-16 ULTRA PRO MAGNUM ROLLER 1.52 RATIO, 7/16" STUD DIAMETER. It’s over kill but I love the steel rocker arms.
What are the spec’s
Read description.
Wat stall n gears u running on ur nova?
Stall is advertised 2500 but footbrakes to 2000rpm. Has 4.11 gear
Oh ya another cookie cutter store bought parts Chev BASED SB to get so excited about. Jeez never seen anyone buy a SB Chev out the Jegs catalog before.
Tell us how you really feel.
What a dumbass
Must be mad because all you could get was a catalog engine off jegs
