Shout out to the Inficon Rep. Is so refreshing to see that level of knowledge and professionalism. They guys we have down here in Texas fool you by walking upright. If you go into supply houses in the metropolitan areas, you had better not be going in there looking for support. True story at Johnstone Supply. The nitrogen gun was bypassing around the trigger and leaking. The most knowledgeable guy in the place that they called to look at it said, "Use Teflon tape." Inficon Guy, if you read this, thank you for the intel. I may actually give one a second chance.
Inficon needs to seriously consider putting this video on their website. Every manufacturer (hint; Fieldpiece) should film a video like this going IN DEPTH into the operation of their instrument. Showing how to use every single feature on the instrument. Not just these generic "canned" videos saying... hey look at our fancy new leak detector . And of course, just about everything he said in this video will directly translate right over to the fieldpiece dr82. 😎👍
Somebody has already mentioned this in the comments. But absolutely keep desiccant packets inside of your case. I do that with all my electronic instruments. Anytime I buy something that has a desiccant package I just keep them in a Ziploc bag. And then I use those to throw inside of all my cases wherever I store an electronic instrument. Just so I know I have something in there absorbing moisture . And I keep several of them in my refrigerant leak detector boxes. 😎👍
Curtis, I found this video very interesting. I remember seeing your frustration when you were working with this tool. I have a suggestion when storing the tool. You said that water may have destroyed the unit. Since it is stored in a plastic case any water in the filter or tubing will stay with it when you put it in the case. I suggest that you put a big bag of silica gel in the case to absorb any water that is left inside the unit when you return it to the case.
Great video ! Really informative. seems like they are using the same spec as bacharach. Move leak detector at a rate of about 1" per second & stay away from the water ! If the leaks beside the water & u want to go there. vacuum or blow out the drain pan. dry area with a towel before running leak detector over water. Water is the enemy for H-10 G Leak detector too. That's the only thing that will stop a H-10 too. They need to put cleanable water traps on these thing's. Leak detectors ain't cheap !
You always tend to learn something when working with a factory rep in person. They know the product inside and out and the company reputation hinges a lot on how they handle the situation. Hopefully your new one holds out good. I’ve heard good things on that detector
It's seen that someone just received a new free infinicon for the advertising 😂, but I know you are going to be completely honest. I can't wait to see you using this new one 👍
Is that the one you did the hammer fix on? Same guy came to our office with same presentation. Then handed out 27 of those to each technician. I've been worried about using 😂 but will give it a try. Nice video
That was a very knowledgeable rep. It would seem to me that even though the filter is hydrophobic it seems that moisture can get through and is a device killer. They should have a secondary moisture sensor to auto shutoff the air pump and an alarm.
I’ve been so on the fence with this one. I’ve looked at the fieldpiece and I know techs who have had luck with them while others mention they have been faulty. The Stratus has been the only one I’ve seen with great reviews, a few here and there. It’s just that $1000 price tag.🥲
That Rep. represents the company very well. He is knowledgeable & knows the product like the back of his hand. Great video. 😎👍
Thanks

Nowadays that would go a long way!! It sucks that we search social media to see how others successfully or unsuccessfully use the tools
The guy did a great job .
Awesome presentation and video mate thank you 👍
This rep needs a raise , best presentation I've seen in a long time , absolutely brilliant job !
Much appreciated
Thanks for the Interview with the Rep and Thanks for being Honest with him about the Unit. 👍🙏
Any time!

really hope this one works out for you. as a commercial hvac and refrigeration guy this is a life saver
Nice video Curtis, the store Rep explained the D -Tek and its use nicely. I hope all goes well with its first use 👍
Man, i thought i knew how to use my Stratus. I'll have to adjust how i use it lol
Awesome video. I just replaced my H10 that I’ve used for the past 28 years with this detector. Thanks

Was cracking up on the whole " I broke the old one" , if the guy only knew.
Other than that it was a good review, looking to get one of these.
Yup inficon needs to give guy a raise
Just what I needed. Work just gave me one for rack leak checks!
Good rep and good video. Thanks Curtis 👍👍🇨🇦
You bet
Great Video Curtis
Great video.
Thanks!
Very informative. Great video Curtis
Thanks
Great video 👍👌
Thanks
I think there is a United Refrigeration Location in Most Larger Cities. 👍🙏
Could you please do a video of "what's in my service bag" and the other tools you use on the job?

We will see. The rep is going to make it sound good. Keep the hammer handy, lol.
😂
awesome thank you!
You should have showed him how you fix them. A BFH
Great video learned something new
👍👍👍
Very interesting, thanks
My Fieldpiece doesn't work well in high humidity, what about this one?
I use an older version without the screen. Been working great so far I’ve only had it for a few months.
I was expecting him to open the box to find the stratus that was smashed with the hammer
The first think I noticed on that rep was he has an urban holster total conceal carry case on his right side, good choice
How did you end up with a new one after smashing to other one with a hammer?
Inficon sent me another
Screen of death..😂😂😂

Mine is acting up, can’t reach dtek
I’m assuming it picks up nitrogen?
Is this leak detector worth the money ? Anyone out there thats had it for a couple of years .
Shit now iam gonna buy it
I don't like the battery cover the loose easily

Yeh. It’s high
How it’s been so far for you hvac guy ??
