Unfortunately Michael never got to enjoy his prizes as he was flattened by the mountain of balloons, confetti, and streamers. It was a very tragic incident. 😢
This is the tournament finals for the first month of the regular season (not even a full three weeks actually) after the Super Champs tournament was completed.
15:42 Dear God, *MASS HYSTERIA!!* I mean, when he won it all, the streamers didn't even "stream" beautifully down, they all just messily collapsed l to the floor in a big, ugly clump, like hardened cement! And then, the *BALLOONS?!* That wasn't a balloon drop... That was a balloon *onslaught!!* The children that were in the audience that day, were either loving it, or were terrified beyond belief... I think I would've been the latter LOLOL... :-P :-P
I agree. I don't think anyone on the show was faster hitting the button than those two. Michael, of course, was the $100,000 winner in the first month of the regular season, while Tommy won his in the next-to-last month of the series.
The scoreboard display made an error as he was to have 10 and 11 until it showed 12 as its correct score during the Golden Medley Showdown on Name That Tune, it actually showed $1 and $9 on there when it was to only have 10 tunes. But Michael Lagmay did beat Hap Trout 16 to 4, to win the $100,000 in cash and prizes. RIP John Harlan and Jim Lange.
How come every time someone wins $100K they get the same prizes over and over again (piano, entertainment center, two vacations, watch clock, spa visit, diamond emerald, additional $10K cash and a brand new car)?
There’s winning and then there is piledriving your opponent into the dirt. Jim asked him to let the clock run out but he just couldn’t help himself. Jerk.
To be so young Michael’s musical knowledge is impressive. One of the best I’ve ever seen.
Yes, he is a musical Ken Jennings.
Anyone see how Hap hugged Michael for winning? Thats a good sport.
*15 seconds left in Golden Medley Showdown*
STOP, STOP! He's already dead!
15:43, A $100,000 Balloon Attack
Wow, Michael is a beast! I am very, very impressed by his music knowledge.
LOVE the confetti/balloon/streamer drops at 15:44 and 15:51!
Me too.
This was one of the controlled balloon and confetti drops both happened right away and the comfy wasn’t continuously falling like in other tournament wins
That golden medley was painful
I always like this version of Melody Roulette better than the 1 spin format
Indeed, the maximum possible winning with 1 spin is $2000. With multiple spins, the maximum a person could win is $3000
@@Hawqis1 or $4000 if it was a max of 7 tunes

I love the drum counting the $100's

The balloons sure were worth $100,000 drowning everyone in the set.

Before the Balloons, Streamers, & Confetti was Dropped after the $100,000 Jackpot Winner on Name That Tune!!!?
17:18, A Diamond and Emerald Necklace, with 100 Diamonds
R.I.P. Jim Lange, Tommy Oliver, & John Harlan!!!?
Wish they bring this back on gsn or family channel
That guy is nuts! Does he sleep? Wow.

Lol
Michael Lagmay vs. Tommy Simmons would've been a Dream Match for the Golden Medley Showdown
Those were 2 GREAT NTT Players

Looking forward to the return of Name That Tune on FOX. Premieres Wednesday Jan 6th. Jane Krakowski (Ally McBeal) will be the host.
17:34, $10,000 in Cash
Man talk about not running out the clock
Balloons
,wow this posted 23 days ago miss jim Lange
Michael smoked his arse
Contestants Michael Lagmay Go on any other Game Show Besides this or "Face The Music!" (Syndication), (1980)?
To get to the finals, Michael swept through all rounds against Shirley Lipner, whereas Hap barely squeaked by Rick Domanski to get there.
National championship
Michael Lagmay is from Fort Meade, Maryland. However, I like this game a lot.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
15:34 100,000 winner!

and Tommy Oliver
Considering how Hap manipulated the Golden Medley to make the TOC, not many had much sympathy for him getting blown out
No one can name a tune in 1 note unless given a clue
Wait I thought Hap was from Perth Amboy NJ did he move ??
Apparently, he did move to LA. Perhaps his restaurant ownership took him there.
Pinoy yung isa diyan.
yes

The same reason why they only had 1 spin of the wheel of Melody Roulette, the budget.
I rememberwhen. The 100 k was given 10 k a year for tenyears wonder why the change
@@rony41165 The government probably changed if for the show so they'd get a bigger cut.
$110,000
Dixie lol
Despite this major ass whoop Hap was a good sport about it
Who is the announcer
The announcer was John Harlan.
How many tunes did they guess correctly in the Golden Medley Showdown round?
Michael got 16. Hap got 4.
@@quizshow1977 Oh.
Did Michael Lagmay go on any other game shows besides this or Face the Music in 1980?
jokerswildfan1972. He did no others, to my knowledge.
quizshow1977, he was on face the music but he lost in a tiebreaker

It's the producers son. He knew the answers before the show. Everything on t.v. is rigged.
I remember Hap cheating his way into the tournament
I agree that he was not the best at keeping his hands by his sides until ready to hit the button. This was true his first time on, too.
