The fact this has only taken 2 days to get to 61 means we have to pump up the challenges a bit 😜🤷‍♂️

Butlers are extremely good, and people rarely use them to their true potential. On top of being dirt cheap backline BP, they are a fundamental front-line tool, being able to build a lot of support buildings like the invisible sensor cameras to win any long range vs long range engagement, and even dragon claws during slow pushes with welders.

Some time I want to do a stream where The only bp I make is butlers

Think you are confusing butler and twitcher.
The butler is not popular on the front line for 2 reasons (well, 3, really).
The first is that it can't build anything that you can't get other ways. It can build T2 radar and jammer bots, but you could just build those in the lab that build the butler. you can build perimeter cameras, but the commander can do that while cloaked. And more than twice as fast (this kinda matters, as you typically want to build perimeter cameras in very dangerous locations, and it can't cloak or jam until it is completed).
the second is that it is VASTLY inferior on the front line to the twitcher, which has a ridiculous build menu, which includes most of the T2 AA, the persecutor, build turrets, LAND MINES, advanced radar and radar jammers, T2 walls, along with twin guards, jellyfish, and then a combat unit for basically every terrain type (spider, amphib, destroyer, grunt, fiend). And then just some oddball stuff, like if you want to build T1 walls, you can just build a con bot and then use it to build T1 walls. Or you can build a con ship and then just say "I am naval now". And you can build a commando for some reason.
And the third is that it is the same metal price as the twitcher, but has well under half the health, significantly worse LOS, and less speed by quite a bit. So it's much much more vulnerable on the front line, which is especially relevant if you aren't stealth.
Twitchers are great on the front line though. One of the big ones is that people don't expect land mines from a player who is bots. that is very useful. Especially on a unit that can build persecutors. And T2 walls on the front line are normally expensive and slow to produce, as you need to get a T2 con forwards. I think T2 walls are underused. For example, suppose you are about to lose a high end piece of porc. Just wall it off, keep fighting, and if you win, you now have time to repair it.

I think the rework for the sprinter is to make it a scouting unit. The real criminal thing about them is that they have to find enemy light laser towers by literally blundering into them. It's like pawns, only way WAY worse. They desperately need a non joke sight range, then I could actually see attempting to leak with them. It wouldn't be great, but Maybe someone with a free T2 lab and no T1 lab would occasionally be justified in building a couple to leak into the back line.
instead of what they are now, which is the kind of unit you can get vote kicked for making.

😂😂 the crazy thing is that I’ve seen players building these more often then ever before??? Why lol

I totally agree. When I was very new I also build them more often and put a couple into my early T2 hound composition. If you can micro, sprinters can be decent, like running ahead of your hounds and dodging fire because of their high speed and giving vision and counter some units the hound would struggle (like sheldons), but apart from that they can also get countered by the much stronger fiend and they are still not very strong overall in the end.
I think many new players build them cuz they appear great in theory. They are easy to understand and much like the pawn, but stronger and much faster. They should be great in swarming units, right? But sadly, they can't bring justice to that thought.
I also agree with your gunslinger claim. The slinger was actually the very first T2 unit I made when I fought skirmishes. So they hold a special place in my heart. I also tried to make them viable very often, but with their cost it's just much more efficient to make hounds. They are faster and have higher range (and much versatility, with their two firing modes). And also the welder can do a better job if you need a slower unit with stopping power. I also agree that they might need a larger firing range or (even better) higher walking speed. Alternatively I though we could increase the specialty of the slinger, which is it's greater scaling with veterancy. Maybe they could scale even more so than now and make it really worth trying to keep them alive. I would love to see a gold star gunslinger be feared even in the T3 era :D But I am dreaming here

lol I agree it is definitely controversial but I think with a bit of support it’s far better late game as the dps range and hp is good. Hounds are very strong but I haven’t seen people pump hounds much anymore. I think the hound got a light nerf awhile back or something

  • @TheRealGaffer

S rank for the Fatboy is wild haha! The FBs oddly fast aim makes it an absolute menace at friendly fire when it's attempting to lead shots against incoming ticks. I honestly see them doing as much dps to their own team as the enemy on the front lines if they're supported, unless they're heavily micro'd. And if they arent supported, they're so big and slow they are immadiately swarmed or pelted by artillery. I think I agree with more or less everything else though. Need to give webbers some useage in my play!

My thoughts too. Even Tzar somehow ends up doing WAY less friendly fire, despite its even bigger AOE.
I think its a combination of its turret being too slow to (mostly) even attempt firing at enemy scouts that ran into your composition - and also its rate of fire making it a far better antispam.

Fatboys are definitely good but I don't really understand why they're bots and not vehicles. They're so big, slow, tanky,... I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out of a vehicle lab instead of a bot lab.

It's a shame there really aren't any decent anti-air Arm bots at all. If you're doing a front-line push into an enemy with planes, you're stuck. The Shredder (T2 AA vehicle) is decent enough, but to build it you need a T2 vehicle factory, at which point you might as well build a whole bunch of other T2 tanks instead of bots.

Spybot can reclaim too. It is not on right click thought or it might accidentally decloak. Need to use E or command button and it is not that fast at it.

Yep, I've often used this in combo with the Ambassador. Send in a couple of Ghosts to get vision on static defence/etc.. Ambassadors totally level the ground, and then the Ghosts can go in afterwards and reclaim all that metal.

I feel like they get gunned down by rocket bots and coms too easily. I personally would mix a few in with plazma bots to help shut down spam

Making this type of video of BAR must be tricky, since most units, if not all, are designed to work in conjunction with others. In compositions made up of at least 2 units.
I suppose, the more any give type of unit can perform on it's own, the higher it will rank.

    • @JAWSMUNCH304
      @JAWSMUNCH304  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That is largely true. Part of it is also how often should you build them. If it’s a (nearly every game) solution to the battle they definitely rank highly. Some people may view the rankings differently than me but based on my personal experience this is my opinion.

It's certainly more true of Armada, than Cortex. The overriding theme of Armada is lots of variety and specialisation. Units that on their own aren't that powerful, but if you know to combine them effectively, they're great. They're much like Lego. You just gotta know all the individual shapes of the pieces and stick them together the right ways.

Why compare the t3 bots with the others typically if you are going bots you are tied to t1 and t2 but t3 is not tied to one type so t3 does compete with every other t3 unit not only with the bots. This list makes sense for t1 nad t2 basically what units should i build whne i got bots. But t3 should be either its own list or it should include all t3. Having the tierlist tied to a type on a factory that does not tie the type doesn't help a player to make desicions in the game. Apart from that i liked the video.

Fatboy is a solid C. Situational, low range, picked off by range easily by its t2 armada ranged counterparts. Falls off greatly mid/late game. That's how bad it is. Hounds a B as it is so fragile and dont do well on chokes. Snipers a A as it is balanced with its fragility, slow speed and build time. EMP spider should be A. Doesn't deserve S. U can have res bots behind yr recluses yea?
