As an 11-year old, I lived in Switzerland where my father worked on the Bloodhound missile program for the Swiss Air Force. We lived in Meggen, near Lucerne (Luzern) and my dad was based at Emmen and I remember seeing Swiss Air Force Vampires and Hawker Hunters there regularly. They will always be my favourite aircraft of the time. A very nice video.
Nice selection for sure! I somehow have to get over to your museum at some point. From your five I guess I would choose the 1st Mosquito though ;) Thank you for all the work keeping the museum and also for sharing!
In the early 70s i was a volunteer at the museum, and now i live between Thailand and Cheshire, i must return to look and see, 3 mossies' that's a must to see' !!! I remember the sea vixen being delivered and as it was offloaded it swung causing some minor damage to the airframe. An interesting choice you have made, thank you for the video.
Thanks :) Ok My top exhibit is the DH.88 Comet Racer. Yes it may be a film prop from the Great Air Race but… Ok I am very biased for reasons that you well know :)
Yes, some great choices - no argument about that! But I would have loved to see more of the very shapely nose and engine nacelles of the beautiful bomber version of the Mossie, shown in the background of your No.1 choice. For my money, simply the best-looking & most elegant aeroplane ever…
Great video...👍
Flew the Vamp, so she's my all-time fav ... but short of having a Hornet amongst the Mossy's, hard to argue with your choices. Cheers, 🍻 ^v^

So many good planes from DH, who couldn't love the Mossie or the Vampire!

My favourite is the vampire, memories of them flying overhead in the 50's and at airshows with such a distinctive sound too.

A good choice, I would include the reinforced glass from a Mosquito cockpit
Many thanks. There are just too many excellent exhibits for me to have only 5 favorites.

Yes - understood.
Which is why we did a video of it all of its own:

Like your choice
Rebuild the Albatross behind you at the end and it will be my favourite...
A DH91 Albatross - that would be an amazing re-creation !

@@deHavMuseum Ask the British Airways Heritage collection if you can display their model of it maybe?
The Queen Bee control unit would be in my top five
That is definitely a favourite....

Signed by Eric Brown
