    When you loosen through bolt to grease the bushing, does it mess with your existing alignment?

    Tried doing this, and it appears the zerk fitting isn't taking in the grease from the gun. I'm I doing something wrong?

      Had the same problem. Try to loosen the bolt more or use 90degree attachment by locknlube. It needs to have an exact angle so the hrease wont just leak out.

  • @billwilliams4281

    Doesn't look like Icon monitors the comments/questions here but I will give it a shot...What is the purpose of loosening the bolt going through the bushing? I can't get to that bolt because of where the reservoir is mounted.

      I'm sure it's to allow the grease to penetrate where it is tight. Btw. buying Delta UCA's is a rookie mistake.

      How'd you eliminate the problem?

    • @docsmokyalian1397
      @docsmokyalian1397 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrmpaJA yeah. I sprayed all joints and contact parts with tri-flow bike chain lubricant and that solved the problem. Note that I tried other dry spray lub but it did not work. So like every oil change I spray it with tri-flow. And ji more squeek!
      Only thing is that, Im not sure which part exactly the squeeking is coming from cause I just spray all joints with it.

    Is there a special adapter that needs to be used for the Zerk fitting on the Delta Joint?

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A needle style adapter can be used for most grease guns to apply grease via the flush zerk. We also inlude a traditional style zerk for those that do not have this tool.
      Example: www.amazon.com/Lincoln-Lubrication-5803-Grease-Needle/dp/B0002SR6XE

    Why didn't they make the ball joint like an OEM with a grease fitting instead of teflon??
    So its low maintance.

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of our Upper Control Arms now come standard with the ICON Delta Joint. It's a heavy duty high angle ball joint that combines the durability of a ball joint with the performance characteristics of a uniball. It's fully greasable and comes with a 5 year warranty.

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you greased the pivot bushings recently? If not, we recommend adding grease every 3,000 miles (or every oil change) to reduce friction and noise.

    • @salsumaran3965
      @salsumaran3965 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you adjust the caster on the tubular UCAs?

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ICON tubular UCA's have built-in caster correction for lifted applications, but are not adjustable. If you would like additional caster adjustment, please consider ICON's billet aluminum upper control arms that feature on-vehicle caster/camber adjustment. Thanks!

      Buying Delta UCA'c is a rookie mistake. I regretfully installed Delta Icons on my 2023 Tacoma. Live and learn.

    • @trocks4321
      @trocks4321 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What was the lesson you learned? What is wrong with the delta joints?
      Note the delta joint is not maintenance free and was never advertised as such! Any hard core performance part will require maintenance. The benefit of the delta joint is that it gives you what you need from a uniball (off road) and works like a ball joint (on road) and does a hell of a job marrying these two extremes! Is it as good as a 100% dedicated uniball, no! Is it as good as a 100% ball joint for normal daily driving?..I do not know enough to speak on that side and assume no....especially from a maintenance view. However, if you have a dedicated off road machine or live in an area where 80% of your driving is dirt / off road, perhaps dedicated uniballs are going to be better than deltas. However, for those of us who use our rigs (4Runner) as daily drivers 70-80% on road / highway and want serious off road capability, please name another option that is better than Delta joint including very little needed maintenance when used on road most of the time?

    Question: I’m about to get 33s and ICON suspension installed on my 2nd gen Tacoma you think I would need a diff drop/spacers to keep the drive-line and CV angle closer to stock? I would hate to stress those components....what’s your thoughts🤔

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello David, after years of extensive testing on our R&D vehicles, we haven't seen the need to use any sort of differential drop spacer on the Toyota Tacoma with an ICON suspension system. Thanks!

  • @manchild111
    @manchild111 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Icon/Scott. Does you lifts, specifically your Stage 7 for 5th Gen 4Runners come with front diff spacers? Also, are the lifts compatible with KDSS ? ... Thank you

    • @StreetSports1
      @StreetSports1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stage 7 is compatible with KDSS, you will just not use the sway bar relocation kit that is included in the front coilover set. Icon does not make a diff drop kit. I use Dobinson's diff drop kit with my customers. I know that Scott in the vid used ToyTec with his personal vehicle.
