Its not about the problems, it is how they are dealt with. The staff on the site in general are very kind and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is lovely, good quality and cooked perfectly for me! I have a couple of lodges right behind the hotel and to say its close to the road it is very quiet. Its a brilliant site for all the family :)
@@eastcoastholidaysskegness that’s right and the way the staff dealt with the problem was brilliant, you get some people not saying anything at the time and leave bad reviews on trip advisor. Credit to team at the Southview 👍
We had our last. Anniversary meal there in 2004 .it was a lovely meal . We went with friends. There anniversary was the week after ours . Really good meal and service.
We have stayed at southview a few times and we love it. Its actually a stay over for some of the stars of the Butlin's weekends as we have actually seen and met Tony Hadley of spandau ballet fame in the hotel a couple of times during our stay so I doubt someone of that recognition would stay there if it wasn't good. Cheers
@@neilrgreatestadventures not sure mate, i would imagine so tbh, but we have only seen mr hadley a couple times, he actually waited for me to come back from a trip into skegness as my family told him i was a big fan, he stayed to say hi and have a pic and a chat before he went on his way,,,,,,,brilliant. all round
stayed there twice around 20 years ago both times in mid November. First time we came on spec and had a disabled room on the ground floor which was great. second time not so good. BT was holding some kind of a party that spilled over into the rooms, it was terrible, the police ended up coming to sort it out. when we checked out the following day we were told that our money had been refunded without us even asking. From the vlog the rooms look a little tired from what I remember them but the communal areas look far better.
I think there was 3 restaurants in the hotel when we went. We went in the main door and there was a restaurant straight in front another to the left and ours was on the write. .downa short corridor there was toilets on the left as you you went into our restaurant. There were high backed chairs they sprinkled pritty gold words extra on the table a big card for us and a smaller one for our friends. I had duck as main . There was garlic bread first then the starter main and desert. We could have had cheese and biscuits. And a bottle of wine .it only came to 125 for all of us. The waitress was very attentive.kept asking we were ok. She was lovely. But that was 20 years ago.
Stayed there last year same problem toilet not working, moved to another room and toilet gave up the go Hotel really needs updating Staff said most of the toilets in the rooms are tired they need all replacing
Love southveiw both hotel n vans very disabled freindly only problem was I was holding my breath when u crossed that rd but can't hear the rd from inside happy Xmas neil
Stayed on the site late summer in private caravan, site and facilities not too bad a few places to eat big site so plenty places for walking and exercise, showbar packed full in holiday season so not too good to get a seat and drink , minor moan though .
Yes it is, I live here and have all my life. I knew the old owner personally before he sold it. It's all year round the hotel, and the park in general operates all year round
Very nice review Neil

Where was the Showbar video? I prefer a b&b in the centre tbh.
