Seriously! I'm not a big fan of CMON, I do buy their games but not because it's by CMON, just because the game looks fun... AND, Bloodborne is to my surprise, a GREAT game! By the way, I didnt play the video game, I hate action RPG so I don't think I ever will... this, dark soul, sekiro, and nioh! Definitely not because I suck at those games 😝
Thank you. The handbook isn't all that use friendly, I knew someone on TH-cam would have a better tutorial. Still doesn't stop me from already making my own homebrew rules for certain things.
If you attack using a Dodge card you will not dodge but insted activate the other effect (in the video case I think it was "clear this slot") in order to dodge you need to use it after reveal the enemy action card but has no effect on inflict any damage to the enemy.
I watched this video to double-check I read the rules correctly (skimming them at first didn't make sense to me). Glad to get confirmation I did understand how the game works from this easy-to-follow, clear tutorial.
really appreciate the production value on your videos, super clean. Your presentation and clear instructions are commendable too. Keep up the awesome work!
People seem to be split on this release, but I adore this game. Sure I'm biased in that the video game it's based on is one of the best ever in my opinion, but I showed it to some casual board game fans more used to 6 nimmt than dungeon crawling miniature battles who have no idea what a cleric beast is and they loved it.
I dont understand the whole stack card thing.. you keep discarding them as if you have 10 in your hand but you only have 3 to start with and you have to discard 2 to move which leaves me with one and no way to get more (playing solo) how do i draw more without spending any do i just end my turn and then start my turn again with 3 new ones so i then would have 6?
From my understanding, you can only have 3 stat cards in hand at one time. Since you’re playing solo, once you have performed all your actions and all enemies have completed their activations the next round will start. When the next round starts you can discard any cards in hand that you don’t want. Then draw up to 3 cards from your hunter deck. The same process repeats for each round.
From my understanding you advance the hunter track by 1 for each hunters entering the hunter's dream. Doesn't that make the track advance way too fast when playing with 3-4 players?
That was what I was getting from that particular part of it as well. It seems excessive for the possibility of it moving 5 spaces on one round. Was debating of modifying the rule on my own games depending on how it goes. Maybe if anyone goes it to the dream it moves an additional space but only one additional space no matter how many return.
Keep in mind, with more players, everything is inherently easier. Monsters are easier to kill and you can explore the map much faster, progressing to the boss much faster as well. The only things that really scale are bosses and NPC's. The map gets bigger, but not enough to be even close to a hamper. Im not saying its a perfectly balanced mechanic, as you said, if everyone goes back, you are basically rushing a game over. But you do need some risk/reward for how much more efficient/easier you can potentially make the game. Im sure there are house rules around that tweak it in potentially better ways.
once you hit the final space on the track, you would do a final "reset" of the board. So enemies respawn, looted consumables tokens are populated, and boss health is reset (if you are on the 2nd phase of a fight, its health is set to the 2nd phase, you dont have to fight the 1st again). You then have till the end of that round to beat the entire chapter, or else you are officially out of time and lose the campaign and have to restart it from the beginning.
if I move into a tile with monster to get rewards, and they attack, it's not a regular combat as in I don't get to attack but rather just take whatever damage they inflict?
If you discard a skill card to pick up items or interact with survivor tokens in a space with enemies, they get to hit you for free, you do not get to hit back or dodge. After that, monsters would activate and attack as normal, which would then be resolved as normal combat. Basically don't try it unless you're desperate!
@@kelfezondplays9908 players take their turns separately. So in a two player game, Player 1 goes, monsters activate and will only target player one. Then Player 2 goes, monsters activate and only target player 2. Round ends, and the sequence is repeated.
It's an Awesome game. In the beginning I just thought Meh. But now I can't stop. Died a lot but I make progress. Half the Bosses I kill on the first try. Other half after 5 times leaning their moves. Accept dying and learn and use that DODGE.
🤣🤣🤣bro, no, death is not a mild inconvenience in bloodborne. Having a full level of blood echos on you and three forths of the level between you and the god damn lamp is among the most harrowing experience one could have in gaming
How can you say "you discard them and save them" (basic stat cards) in the same sentence and think that anyone that is new to board games can understand what to do, when to do, WHY to do.. Again.. Discard and save.. Some people never played board games so why not explaining everything like you would explain it to a child
This is the next level nerd stuff I was just never willing to take part in. Who even has friends that would be willing to play this and who wouldn’t laugh at you for even mentioning you wanna play this?
This is such a fun game. Pretty tough but a lot of fun. This is a great tutorial, well done!
Thanks a lot Hanson! It’s definitely very challenging
This game needs more love. For a CMON product, I've barely seen any other reviewers talking about it.

Thanks for the clarification!

You just earned a sub. So many of the people giving these types of tutorials don’t get to the point and you impressed me. Keep on broham
The production quality of this video is top notch *chef's kiss*!
Excellent job! It answered a few random questions I had about combat and status effects.
That’s fantastic to hear-glad you enjoyed the tutorial Joe!

Been following your personal channel, Tim. I'm glad you're being recognized on a larger scale and are now doing videos for The Dice Tower!
Awesome Tim! The quality is just amazing! Dice Tower video quality will be top notch now!
wow your cinematics are top notch! Love it!
Thank you so much!
I want that retro looking lightbulb in the background.
I picked it up from Ikea!
This video is great! Usually how to play not made by Watch it Played! are lacking but this was on point. Thank you. I wish Tim made more.
This was a very solid tutorial, well done! Great production and attention to detail, nicely done.
What an incredible video! This is truly top notch stuff!
Very good video, fast, tells you about everything you would need to know.
This game is low key my favorite coop experience to play with friends. We tried old Yharnam yesterday and the poison absolutely shrek'd us 😂

Is it a good idea to paint those miniatures because they look paintable
I've painted mine, they do look amazing painted.
What happens when the track reaches the end? The rules contradict themselves in the book

@@bam674 Thank you man
Great video thank you
When do you draw new cards to your hand?
at the start of the next round
How do you know which Hunter is being targeted by a monster if all hunters and monsters are on the same tile?
Monsters activate directly after a hunter, so that's the one they're targeting, even if they're would be another hunter in the same space.
@@matsie3134 I'm still not getting it? So don't both hunters take their turn together? Does it go Player 1 > Monster > Player 2 > Monster ?
