Probably one of the first episodes filmed in the new Millennium. I'm not sure if it was the case back then but I reckon an episode airs roughly 6 weeks after being filmed. Which puts this around mid-February. I know they probably started from January but still.

Agree, been watching the 90s episodes on ITV3 and the village looked so different and much more realistic back then with a few rows of stone houses and quite a lot more to it, in todays episodes all we mostly see is that stupid latte bar and the wool pack.

I always got the impression Ben was the oldest and the cleverest and his fathers favourite son (Zak's favourite child was Tina). You may be right though.
i got that impression too, from his brief appearance ben seemed like the most streetwise and toughest of zak's kids compared to butch and sam, he seemed pretty similar to cain
