One of the best repair videos I have seen. You didn't waste time talking about how long you have owned your car, what the mechanic said he would charge, and why you bought a G6 vs a Hummer. You had good lighting and got to the point. Possibly most importantly you had someone else hold the camera so you could use both hands for the repair and not give use shots of your floor mats while fumbling with your tools and the camera.

A mechanic quoted me $193 to fix, said it would take a “little under an hour.” My boyfriend and I watched the video, went and bought the part $50, borrowed a friend’s wrench set and had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. Thank you!!

I know next to nothing about cars but, I knew I didn't want to pay a mechanic a few hundred to fix my blinker switch so I hopped on here and found your video, ordered the part off Ebay for $22 and followed along with your video to install it. So easy to do with your simple and clear instructions. Thank you!!!😊

i know this is quite old but i’m so glad i found it before i forked over a couple hundred dollars for a shop to fix it. i just got a used 07 g6 and have to hold down the switch constantly to have a left turn signal and i have to manually turn off the right turn signal bc it will stay on no matter what

You made it so easy, I've had the part for a year, was told it was a complicated job, watched your video, took me 15 minutes, thank you

Thank you! It took me longer to walk to the workshop and gather my tools than it did to replace the part. It works perfectly now! So about $23 and 10 minutes

Nope! Mechanics play games. They tried to give me and my boyfriend a ridiculous price, too. Then we found THIS wonderful video. We ordered the piece and it just came in today! This is so simple even I could do it! Thanks so much for posting this video!

Because your car probably needs the redesigned parts....which makes it way more expensive. Because it's way more involved than this video.

7 mm SOCKET with small 1/4" inch RATCHET. Extension between socket and ratchet not needed, optional. Otherwise somewhat easy job and replacement switches sell for under $19.00 (ebay). Good, well explained video.

Your video empowered me to replace my turn signal myself (the part was about $25.00 on Amazon) as opposed to living with the super glue job my boyfriend did or having it "professionally" replaced! So exciting. Thank you so much, you were a fantastic guide in this video!

This is a great video! I just fixed my turn signal following the instructions on here. The average cost in my area for a mechanic to do this is around 123.00. I brought the part off Amazon for 20.91 and put it on myself. I save over 100, Thanks!

my first car was 22 years old by the time i became the owner & it needed a flasher relay. multiple shops quoted me $200-$300 to replace it. watched a few videos, got the part at autozone for $15, and successfully replaced it in less than 30 seconds with zero tools. autozone is my favorite auto parts store bc they’ve never not had something i needed

A mechanic was going to charge me 300 plus dollars to do this...told me you would have to take steering wheel apart and part would cost 70 bucks and take about 2 hours to do...this is why I don't trust mechanics or dealers that do auto repair..I still have yet to find a honest one...so that's when I took my phone out and told him that there is something he should see..there was a woman behind me and saw the video I showed him...she looked at me..looked at him..and turned around and walked out lol...the mechanic was super pissed...I get they need to make a profit but..come on...

$300 !?! Wow! I didn't even go to a mechanic for mine but I thought about it. I was guessing maybe $150 to $175 - but $300? Sheesh! I decided to take a chance on TH-cam and this video was the first to pop up. Described it beautifully with good detail. I went to Auto Zone, bought the switch for $45 plus a 7mm socket and changed it myself in about 20 minutes. Works perfectly! Thank you, Martin! Wonderful help!😉👍

The literally happened to me today when I went to get inspection. Mechanic said 70 for the part and 100 for 2 hours of labor because the high beams would come on with rt signal. He told me that it would be 30 if I didn't have fog lights and that it was going to 70 because I did...$200 bucks for a small fix, no thanks.

Because this is the OLD way. Gm redesigned the parts and yes the steering wheel has to come off. Look up Pontiac g6 turn signal switch on rockauto. It will pull up all the redesigned parts for the job.

If it's been maintained nicely it's probably worth it. The G6 was a pretty nice car for its time. 170k is a bit high, but if the price is decent and it's been maintained I say go for it.
