This is a great video, I had no idea I had my wrist in the wrong place until recently because of someone who is experienced with Olympic Weightlifting. I have over 10 years of CrossFit experience and never remember anyone saying anything about my wrist placement. So hearing you say this and watching this video again will help me break a bad habit. So thank you for this video!
Great video dude saw a few people say it but do more of these. Not only is it informative listening to you teach is great info for how i should teach people things in general
Hiller, you have a gift ❤ for making a good 👍 quality and informative instrutional video. My snatch goal is to maintain strength. I heavy snatch once a week but do technique snatch training multiple days with PVC and light OH squats without lifters and belt. I’m going to take your suggestion and add a moderate heavy day using no weight belt and lifters
Fucking. Thank you. No one and I mean NO ONE ever talks about a tight groin. I have a terribly tight groin and have had CrossFit L2s look at me like I’m crazy for telling them my groin is too tight to go any wider/deeper in my squat.
What I had meant to say was: this looks like it will work great for working on power snatches while I spend time improving overhead mobility so that I can squat snatch and overhead squat more than just the bar! I'm excited !
Andrew, you should do these videos with a beginner. It’s so easy for seminar staff or anyone to coach an athlete who already knows the positions and lifts
We’ve seen Zack Telander do something similar. Still would be cool to see Hiller take on this - get to see different methods of coaching the same movement
This is a great video. One question, what do you do when your arms were too long for the barbell to sit in the natural snatch position? When I hold the barbell at the collars it sits more in the clean position
Every week at my gyms barbell class we do this first for snatch day: 1. Foam roll mobility 2. PVC Pipe Drop Snatches + Tall Snatches I found nothing I disagreed with in the video. Besides the word moist not being cringe. 👍🏼
The snatch is a high risk, unnecessary, unsafe movement that continuously injuries the most skilled Olympic weightlifters. Andrew's content is great and I appreciate his diligence. The snatch, especially done as both a high rep and heavy load movement, over years will potentially result in debilitating shoulder injuries. It is a movement that is generally shunned by professional trainers and coaches outside of CF for good reason. Shoulder injuries are extremely debilitating and difficult to recover from. It's time to eliminate movements that put athletes' health at risk.
One of crossfitters biggest mistake, thinking throwing your hips is how you drive your bar up. Take the USAW L-1. Learn how to properly assess and teach the Olympic lifts. If you know that you can teach any CrossFit movement.
Toddlers squat like that because they have a giant head, I also have a giant head so I got no excuse, I'm just rubbish, PS I really liked this educational stuff, and need more of it
Crossfitters are gonna think this is 🔥 but weightlifters everywhere are cringing at most of this video. You’re an engaging teacher/coach and probably would be great at teaching this if you took the USAW L-1. These cues may help ppl new to the movement, but they’ll learn so many bad habits!
People do not know how to use their bodies, coaches give Q's to new people like brace your core. They might as well be speaking Chinese, what does that mean what does that feel like and how do you do it!
Best snatch instructional video I have come across. The back tightness explanation is golden. Helped me instantly
CROSSFIT, THIS IS CONTENT THAT YOU SHOULD BE PUTTING OUT. You are allowing your troll to do your job for you.
@@Dwizzle77 I can't tell if this is a diss or a Compliment lol. Good job
there are 40,000 how to snatch videos on the internet.
@@BananaDanceMan *40,001
Except that the technique is not correct
This video is for dummies. It says so in the title
Thank you so much for this. One of the best snatch videos I've seen. Do more of these please!
Perfect timing Andrew! I’m teaching 5 classes today, and I will use these tips. Please do more of these types of videos!
The accessory work at the end is so money dude. Thanks for sharing. Gonna work on these positions then next week go for PR
Well that was a refresher from Wednesday...thanks and I'd like to see more of these 🦇man.

Love this. Going to make my husband watch this because I think it will help him more than me trying to coach him through it.
All about the hip contact! Hope it helps
I learned more in this Snatch video than any other one on the internet! This was awesome
I love this video. Super helpful! thank you!
I"m 66 yrs old & have never done a snatch lift. But that training video was so cool I"m going to give it a try. Thanks Andrew
Don't, safe guard your shoulders and avoid the movement entirely. It's unsafe, high risk, and unnecessary for any level of strength and fitness.
Love this, please make more videos like this.
Def needed this video more than I thought, love this content
Superb Video!! CrossFit should be taking notes here!

FTX is a fun gym, they didn’t have their comp this year though which was a bummer

Video works for Power Snatching too!
Also, you're luck this isn't public (yet)

She betrayed you hiller. Is that a sentinel shirt lol. Love the video. Any plans on making one for clean and jerk?
MORE MORE MORE👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
hiller - my man. What is the make/model of your sauna?
Hello Andrew, I have a question. You do programing for "Athletes"?
Releasing hands on passthroughs really grips my shit
great content!
Handstand Walk next ? Amazing Video
2:20 I thought I was taking crazy pills 😂👌🏾
Thanks for the tutorial
I’m about to start this video. Yes I’m commenting during the commercial before I watch it.
Stay tuned
I thought I was the only one who used the leg press from the “globo gym days” to explain using your legs to press the floor away! 🤯

Exactly this. “Throwing the bar up with your hips” is a great way to get someone to swing the bar out in front of them and miss lifts😂
@ exactly!!!
Love this 😄
Thanks Megan!
we want moreeee
Why do you have a MGD neon sign in your garage?

Good video, but @22:08 "The heavier it is the faster it gets back down to earth"...You might want to check your science.
Merci ❤
There was some guy on video who was smiling. Who was that? 😂

Kipping it real taught me how to snatch.. I can do 47 kilos already
Did you inherit property from your parents? How are you able to afford all of your equipment and space?
Totaly missread the title. THought it was searching for dummies so skipped it. I can't snatch for shit. No mobility
